It was a Rank D

For the past hours, all Yuna did was complain and squawk at Kuro incessantly. Kuro would simply ignore her words and continued his meditation to revitalize his mana used from the skill he casted before. Lightning element do deal damage but they tax as much as they dealt.

"So what is your plan? How do we get out of this mess?" Said Yuna as she broke the silence.

"What is 'your plan'. I'm not going with you. I'm doing this alone."

His reply had caught her off guard. It was so spontaneous that Yuna felt she was being ridiculed and mocked.

"Are you telling me you're leaving me alone? Are you telling me that I'm just holding you back?!"

"Is it not?"

"Fine then! I'LL JUST LEAVE YOU BE! HMP!"

Yuna turned about and went briskly towards the door. A dire feeling suddenly stirred within her chest as a drop of sweat trickled from her temple.

Just as soon as she grabbled the doorknob; a quick shock compelled her hand away.

[Slime Dungeon!]

"Damn it!" cursed Yuna as she confirmed her trepidation.

The quest was in fact a hidden dungeon. While the seers confirmed it was just a slimy outbreak caused by a mad scientist, unbeknown to them, a demon had taken its lair. And now that demon should have taken the form of a monster boss.

Dungeons welcomes people but forbids them to leave. The only way one could leave was to simply clear it. However, it is no easy feat as Dungeons, such as this, should be cleared with a team.

Kuro clicked his tongue as he sauntered to Yuna. His slit blue eyes gleamed at the sunlight escaping from the holes above the ceiling.

The decrepit room has rubbles of small debris scattered all around, walls revealed cracks, and ceiling flaked. On the edge of the corner seemed to be a small table with a single notebook, a pen, and a mess of papers resting on top. This was indeed where the scientist made his study.

While Yuna is half naked and vexed, she did her best to hold back her worries. She knows that dungeos of D rank should be finished by a group of five rank B adventurers. Seven people will finish it at best.

"You'll stay here as I finish the dungeon on my own. Don't do anything and don't go anywhere." said Kuro with a stern voice.

"That's absurd! You're a rank F! Don't act like you're some kind of a big shot!" Yuna crossed her hands. Kuro took a small glimpse of her cleavage revealed by her worn-out white tunic.

"I'm not trying to be one. I can't risk a stupid girl like you. Your life is not worth to be taken away in a dire situation. And besides, you're half naked." Kuro exclaimed as he pointed to her revealing skin.

Yuna's face reddened upon realization. She draws her hand up and batted it towards his face but Kuro grabbed his wrist and pinned her over the wall.

"H-huh?" Yuna groaned, confused in her state.

Suddenly...

Her eyes widened as her lips met with him. His tender lips locked against hers and causing ardent smooches to escape from his mouths.

It sure silenced her.

Startled in her situation, Kuro took his chance to speak.

"Don't go anywhere and stay there. Be a good girl." He exclaimed.

Yuna nodded as if in a trance. Unbeknown to her, it was cruel ploy of Kuro to keep her at bay. He knows that this girl is delusional and so he took his chance.

"He...he kissed me... How... could... No." She thought to herself.

"Reveal Status." Exclaimed Kuro as a panel of his own stats appeared at the focus of his vision.

Confirming that he had enough strength to tread further, he closed his stats and walked towards the door opposite to the entrance of the room.

As soon as he opened the door, a strong scent of acidic liquid wafted upwards from the staircase leading downwards. Kuro confirmed this is no easy task but he could it by himself. He's a "slime slayer" after all.

Kuro walked downwards, leaving Yuna behind. His chest contract in trepidation but he remained calmed afterwards upon reaching the first floor of the dungeon below. The floor expanded like a cave with slimes scattered about. He checked the ceiling and to which he found luminescent fungi writhed at the cracks.

Blop! Blop! The sound of the blobs echoed as Kuro prepared himself.

"Twenty of them. One at the corner seems larger than the most of them. A sentry, huh." He contemplated.

In his mind, he could stealthily move at one edge of the cave and cast massive lightning skill although it would tax him more than before.

It seems outrageous. A rank F taking the dungeon all by himself? That's what Yuna thought to herself.

"Damn it! That boy couldn't survive without me! Only I, the great archer Yuna, can do this!" She spoke in a prideful tone.

She ripped herself of her torn upper garments and scrolled through her system inventory. There she saw a roll of linen fabric which she used as a breast bandage.

As Kuro finally decides his course of attack, he wastes no time as he dashed amid and with a flourish of hand, he chanted.

[Lightning Chain!]

A crowd-damaging spell bursts out from the palm of his hands in a vivid blue light. The light shot through one blob to another as a magnificent chain of energy exploded from the mobs. Sadly they could only pass through three times and Kuro used it both with his hands; killing six slimes in total.

The sentry was able to dodge and use a lesser slime as fodder, shrieked in an obnoxious sound.

"Damn it! It called for reinforcements!"

One blob pounced at him with a spike but Kuro took a step to the side, allowing the attack to brush past him. While it was airborne on it's failed attack, Kuro kicked it with force that it sent it flying to another slime.

In addition to his attack, he immediately pointed his finger and released another skill.

"Lightning Bolt!"

Powerful energy coalesced at the tip of his finger tips and with the last infinitesimal second before the two slimes recover from the collision, a blue bolt shot in a line with a BOOM!

"What is happening down there?!" Yuna exclaimed as she hurried down the steps.

As soon as she arrived, Kuro stood with his one arm limp from mana exhaustion. Kuro panted heavily as his deadly eyes remained locked on the sentry slime.

"Shichi!" Yuna called out as she draw the string of her bow and shot a slime.

Kuro looked back, annoyance evidently present in his face and berated her.

"What are you doing here! Go back!"

But Yuna is a stubborn girl. It is said that once in the past her parents were working, she sneaked and meddled with. Her parents were facing a Snow Yeti and the little tyrant stood out and screamed "I am the almighty Yuna! Bow down, Yeti!" She was six at that time.

"No! You can't just order me around! You're just a rank..." Her words cut short as several blobs of lifeless Rank D slimes filled her eyes.

"Y-you...did this?" She asked incredulously. A mere rank F could only handle a rank F slime at best, let alone a rank E. They were facing a rank D after all.

Kuro wanted to retort and that took his attention away. One of the slime pounced at him with a spike and pierced him at his right shoulder. Kuro stifled a groan as he grabbed the slime and threw it to the ground.

Yuna shot an arrow at the slime but it only grazed it.

"Shichi!" Yuna ran towards him but was barred by three dog-sized slimes. These slimes had different colors, representing their elemental affinities. Before her was a green earth slime, red fire slime, and a blue water slime.

She jolted four feet away and prepared another arrow. Her eyes widended as the seemingly dog-sized slimes grew inches larger by the second.

Then realization kicks in.

"The damn gold slime wasn't a sentry! It was an enchanter! Go back, Yuna!"

Kuro scolded.

His hands sudddenly curled into rigid fists as he dashed quickly to Yuna. His teeth gritted in fear and anger.

"Yuna!"

Yuna lowered her perception. Blood trickled down her abdomen as a slime stabbed her with a spike attack. Her vision blacked out and the last thing she saw was Kuro, who was screaming something. That something was her name.
