chapter 1

Days were going normally without any change, the everyday life was so regular, summer is approaching and everyone's got their plan's to spend the vacation except me. My family went on a business trip and all my classmates are going out of town, so this might be long and boring vacation ever.

I am Yusegawa Yukine , I am good at my academics and always stay in top 10 of the national rankings as for sports I used to play kendo a lot but it all changed at that tournament, as I remember it people were more in winning the game by any means possible rather than enjoying it,my opponent at the finals was being forced by his coach to win he was also being threatened by his relatives, in the finals he won the match by default because I left the match, that match wasn't worth fighting for my opponent was not satisfied with the outcome of the match but the people around him were just too obsessed with victory to see it. I had no heat on my side as my parent's didn't oppose me for quitting. That was when I stopped participating in tournaments.

The bell rang and the last class of the month came to close the teacher said `everyone enjoy the vacation but submit your homework at the end of holidays' and after that he left the room. Everyone gathered around to discuss their plans for the vacation before they dispersed. I was about to leave when my childhood friend called out ` hey yuki I am going to stay in the city too we won't leaving until the last week of the holidays so guess what? I am going to come over to your place till then' after hearing that there was a huge uproar in the class, that was quite natural response from them as she was like the idol of the school the great Dustina Ayase as name suggests she is half foreign our families are good friends and business partners , she's good at studies and athletics, but to me she is still the kid back then when we were little. My friends gathered around me and were staring me with gloomy look on their faces `damn you luck bastard looks likes you r going to enjoy the summer unlike the rest of us' and to that I replied `its not as lucky as you think if she's staying over I now have do chores and cook for two people now, because she can't cook', and with that little commotion the class ended.

We walked home together and on the way I asked her`no one told me that you were coming over,now I have to clean the house' then she replied ` well our parents decided this long ago when they were planning for the business trip, my parent's said that u should be informed if it would be of any inconvenience to you but your dad said let it be a surprise it would be interesting this way, and so I hope you'll take good care of me' with that we parted ways to our home and when I arrived at my home it was a total mess my parents left in a hurry as usual and left the house as it is, there was a note on the table from my dad it said ` yukine there comes a time when every man has to grow up and more over we are worried that if you will stay alone it will be hard to do all the chores by yourself so we are going to leave you in the care of ayase and enjoy the vacation don't stay playing all the time.` So that's what he was thinking but why the hell did they leave the house in such a mess now I have to clean up'. It took me a while but I managed to clean up before she came I was so tired I was just going to relax when I heard the door bell,I went to the door and there she was, as soon as the door opened she let herself in and put her luggage in the living room I said that's a lot of luggage how did u even carry it till here and where are your manners u should say like I'll be staying for while or like I'll be in your care for a while or so' she replies` we've known each other like forever those formalities are not necessary' I was out of words with that but that's how she is she soon unpacked her luggage and started playing game on her console she bought I already realised thakling to her would make no sense so I carried her luggage to the guest room myself then started preparing dinner. It was soon night and it started raining outside, she still hadn't moved from that place and was too involved in her game she would also randomly shout ` FLAMING TORNADO, THUNDER SLASH BAAAAA BOOOOOMMMM' she was totally separated from the world then finally she moved when I made the dinner she said ` ohh something smells nice u are good at giving offerings like always' then we started eating when there was another bell at the door I said ` ooy did u call someone over and how r they here in such heavy rain at such an odd time' she was stuffing herself and said ` I didooon't inyfite anyfone' I said ` swallow the food before u talk' and went and opened the door there was person at the door in cloak and collapsed on me as soon as I opened I was shocked and said ` HEY what happened are you alright' there was a big sound was it the thunder or was the person being chased now that I hear it more clearly the persons stomach was growling `Oh so u are hungry we have some extra food u can dine with us if u want' with that he soon ran and started suuffing himself Ayase was shocked seeing the person eat all the food ` oyy that's my food and who are you'yukii there is someone here and they r eating all my food' as soon I entered the dining room they both were eating as though they were having a competition but it was hard to make out the persons identity due to the cloak I wasn't even sure if the person is a boy or girl but it didn't feel he would do something wrong, I decided to wait till hey finished there was only one cake piece left on both table both of them had their eyes set on it I thought ayase would get it first but to my surprise the other person was too quick, is it even possible ayase lost in getting the cake first with that she jumped on that person ` hey that's mine ' but her efforts were in vain the person already ate it with her jumping on the Person the chair fell down and both were on the floor I said ` hey u should not treat the guests like that' the persons cloak was down it turned out that the person was a girl and what's more important that she had wolf ears and a fluffy tail Ayase was shocked she said ` hey what in the world are you' but before we could say anymore the girl said ` ohhh noo ive been late Valhara is in trouble I need both of you humans to help me' then she took out a staff and stabbed it in the ground the room got all bright and before we knew it we were gone from the room.
