They say love is all about timing but I have always been one step behind. Whether is confessing or being loved by someone. My name is Janet Muirfield. Currently, a student works part-time to make a living. I have always wonder if love is about timing, what about life?. Apparently, I'm not good with neither. My life is full of downs with no ups. I'm someone who has experienced abandonment, betrayal, or any bad luck mishaps in life.

Here I'm currently at BG restaurant, the only sane job that let me drift into my fantasy. Whether is about the fantasy of love or life in general as long as I could pass the time.

'Jane, Jane, Jane'

I'm not sure how long I have been out but soon I could hear someone calling my name in the background. Talking about a fantasy killer right. The voice belongs to my best friend who I work with James.

' So, who was the name of the guy you were thinking about?', said James

'Ooh, I don't know. Maybe the pervert from yesterday who I found cheated on me with that slut'

' Oh, sorry.'

' I mean is there any decent guy left in this world minus you. Who actual don't have any bullshit coming with him'

'They are just many but taken'

' Oh. Can't one of them just be single?. I'm done with how pathetic my life is. If not life screwing me up then love. I need a break. Oh, look who's coming our way. Talking about the miss perfect'

' I know, right.

Heading our way was our best friend Monica. We three have been friends since middle school. I guess you can call them my family since they're the only people who care and love me all my life. We have been together from our lowest to the highest we are now.

"No wonder my ears have been hurting. You two are talking about me again", Said Mon

" So much of being egoistic. Jane is just being jane talking about her miserable life and daydreaming. Who has time to talk about you, the miss perfect"

" Can you guys stop?. James don't start a fight you can't handle. And how are you Mon?"

" Nothing much. You know about the promotion that I was talking about last month. I have got it, guys"

" Wow, congratulations. I guess we don't have to eat yesterday leftover, Jane. Since Mon is treating us out right?.

" Congratulation girl, I'm proud of you but I can't today. I have plans"

"Thank you guys, and we can just meet up tomorrow. I have plans too with my boyfriend today.

Time passed by while I continued dreaming. Mon left about 30 min earlier before both our shifts ended since James was getting on her nerves as always. Sometimes, I think I have two kids by how they fight each time as always. I said goodbye to James and parted my way towards the intersection that is heading home. This is the time where I listen to various songs, just to stop me from thinking on my way back.

Then, I suddenly heard a loud squealing noise of a car break. Wow, I should start paying attention to my surroundings more often.
