17 Chap 17

"Mana, the basis of all life in our world and something we live with since we are born but...

Guys, what do you know about mana?"

Master Ryu's question echoed through the room until the sound of a hand being raised replaced it.

"Please, Susanna."

The black-haired, dark brown-eyed girl named Susana rose from her seat.

"The mana, it is life, death, and knowledge in the words of the Great Mage, but I like him believe that this one is not perfect."

Susana paused as she looked around the entire room.

"Only when a person's core reaches the epitome i.e. S rank and he fully understands mana does he reach perfection ---- He becomes something that can change the very foundations of the world."

Clap- Clap-

Applause from the other students filled the room, causing Susana to sit back down with her chest heaving and a proud look on her face.

"Very good Susana, I as well as you believe that, mana is a tool but, a friend as we become stronger we understand it better and as a result, we use it better."

Ryu replied with a proud smile on his face.

"But, is it as easy as it sounds to see mana that way.

Of course not guys, since we are born we have the perception that being inside our body the mana is ours and should obey us."

Listening to Ryu's words I couldn't help but think of the Zoos of the earth, which were full of animals that we humans believed to be our property.

We locked them in cages and cherished them as if güera work of art, we took our children teaching them that humanity was superior to any existence on earth.

"Always remember this kids, the races did not exist from the beginning with the ability to control mana, if it was not that a gift from the gods, so we must respect it."

The look of everyone in the room filled with understanding as they nodded towards Ryu.

"Well let's ask some people's opinions."

Ryu's gaze shifted until he stopped.

"Hmmm~ What do you think Adad."

My eyes widened when I heard my name and I started to think about what I thought.

Ever since my battle with Dana where I first heard that mana was not omnipotent, I began to think of mana indifferently.

As someone who came from the earth, I always saw mana as something powerful and indomitable that entered powers beyond imagination and was impossible to subdue.

But, as I listened to Dana something was born within me.

The desire to dominate was born, just as ancient humans dominated the beasts of the earth, only to later see that which they feared locked away, living by its existence.

I wanted to dominate the mana, to make it mine, to have the power to move all the mana I wanted and use it in my way.

A friend's idea was stupid, the races of this world also wanted to master mana, that's why they created the skill books.

"...I, believe that mana is a tool ready for our use, which serves those who are strong enough to master it".

My words created surprise in the others, except for a few people, of which one spoke.

"I believe as you do, Adad. Mana exists only to master it, but only the strongest can do it."

Said the beautiful girl with curly black hair that fell to her waist, with a smile that was adorned by her mole under her lower right lip with her two eyes full of haughtiness and pride.

The main villain of the game is Avas Blackgrey.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing~

The sound of the bell rang, announcing the end of class.

"Well we all have different opinions and we must respect them. Remember we have a battles class next week so bring whatever you think you need that isn't in school."

I grabbed my things and proceeded to walk towards the exit of the classroom.

It had been a week since I had arrived at school and also since my discussion with Nickolas.

We had managed to go unnoticed and they only asked Nickolas what had happened to him, since his face was as swollen as if he had been stung by thousands of soldiers.

In my case, the only major wound on my leg was covered by my pants and I just padded my knuckles and said it was from my training.

Despite my doubts, the teachers said nothing thanks to my status as a nobleman.

I walked, following the group of students but soon lost them when I turned in the opposite direction of the residential hall.

Today was the day we were to talk to the headmistress of the academy.

Keith had set up a meeting and they were most likely already coming or in the office.

I followed the signs taped to the wall that had the letter S marked on them.

Soon, I came to some stairs which I climbed.

"Adad, son."

Just after climbing up, I was greeted by the sight of a small break room in front of a door where Keith and Elena.

"Come on, sit down, the director said we could go in soon."

I walked over heeding Elena's words and took a seat next to her.

"How have you been doing this week, Adad."

Elena said.

I answered that and more questions she asked me.

She told me a couple of things while we waited, according to what she said Dana had already left north on a mission to lower the monster population in the mountains.

"Mmm, what happened to your knuckles?

And then came the question that had miraculously avoided this one now.

Chiiir~

Just as he was about to answer the door opened, a woman in a clerical suit came out of it.

"The headmistress is waiting for you inside, come in."

She said as she bowed and ushered us in.

I walked in behind Keith and Elena and looked around.

The room was quite large for an office, plus its more than 10 portraits taped to the wall along with several beautiful decorations gave the air of a presidential room.

"Please take a seat."

Said a beautiful voice behind the desk at the back of the room.

We sat down in the three chairs with Keith in between Elena and me.

"Mr. Keith Hall Duke of Aren tell me what happened so that I could have the honor of having you at this----."

Suddenly the director's words were cut off.

Au strange attitude caught my attention and moving my gaze from the decorations I could, for the first time see the appearance of the headmistress, who met her eyes with mine.

She had beautiful white hair that went over her shoulders and reached her waist, it was like a waterfall.

Besides her two eyes as black as night were two polka dots adorning them.

And her full black lips gave her face a beautiful perfection.

Behind her hair, I could see a pair of long, pointed ears that added a fanciful charm to her already beautiful appearance.

The headmistress quickly ran a hand through her hair and stood up with a smile as she took steps, slowly approaching us.

"If it's for someone as... cute and beautiful as you, I'm capable of doing anything."

Instantly everyone's faces filled with surprise, but one of them changed to be more specific, Elena's.

A shiver ran through me to Keith as Elena stood up, but strangely no words came out of her.

"I didn't know there was a student as handsome as you in our school tell me boy, what is your name."

Said the headmistress as she pulled her curvaceous and perfectly proportioned body closer to me.

"Mine is loud Sale and I am at your service."

Before she could respond the girl who greeted us grabbed her by the collar of her suit and dragged her towards her seat.

"I'm sorry, you don't usually present this behavior please continue with your words."

Keith got back into position and spoke.

"We came because we want to talk to you about our son Adad leaving school."

Keith's words elicited a nod from the principal.

"Oh, so you're Adad- Wait.... Drop out?"

The principal's expression became serious and for the first time since we arrived at the office, she turned her gaze to Keith.

"Mr. Hall, you know the meaning and consequences of having a nobleman's son leave the academy, let alone a Duke."

Keith nodded and was silent for a few seconds, thinking about his next words.

"Please, you may dismiss your secretary."

The headmistress nodded and pointed asea the door, to which the dark orange-haired secretary walked.

Thud.

"Director. I want you to understand how important what we are about to tell you is and to promise that no this will not leave this room."

Nodding and stretching out her hand the director vowed never to speak of what was to be discussed.

"First I want you to know that Adad will not be leaving the school for fun, but that when he leaves he will be traveling to the Auto Mountains for the Dawnwinter style disciple exam."

The headmistress's eyes widened in surprise, but she said nothing and allowed Keith to continue.

"As you know Adad is a wizard, but 1 month ago, he suddenly awakened as a child of mana."

"What? It's impossible, you can only wake up as a child of mana when you are born."

The headmistress' words of surprise elicited a nod of understanding from Keith and Elena.

"We believed that too but Adad seems to be the exception."

"I assume you have checked the conjuration and mana armor. Right?"

"Of course, we have seen with our eyes fights of Adad, conjuring and even entering the first stage of a mana armor."

Keith said though I didn't remember wearing mana armor.

The headmistress was silent for a while, apparently thinking things over.

"You must know how dangerous it would be if someone were to find out about Adad's status as a child of mana."

Those words seemed to affect the headmistress, who met her black eyes with mine.

"All right, I accept your request."

Happiness momentarily flooded Elena's face but was cut off when she heard the following.

"But it's no different from sending him to die alone with Frank."

Taking a pause and puffing out her chest along with a smile she said.

"Then, I found Sale will become Adad Hall's teacher for the remainder of the month and promise to raise his rank to E-. Tell me what you think Adad~".

I moved my eyes directly towards the headmistress and reflected on what she said.

Even though she wasn't talked about much in the game, she is mentioned to be a genius swordswoman and ever since I entered the room I could tell she was strong.

Despite having her aura suppressed, it was not possible to hide the confidence and how strange the mana felt around her.

Besides being the headmistress of the best academy on the continent wasn't a job that just anyone could do so most likely.

....It's that she's an S rank or higher.

"...I, for one, am more than willing to be your disciple, headmistress."

A beautiful smile bloomed on the headmistress's face as she spoke.

"Then from now on, you can call me Lou, Adad".

"Haha~ It looks like we have agreed so I will leave Adad in your care headmistress."

"That way when Adad has to leave he will have the excuse that he came out as a direct disciple of the headmistress and will be able to keep his status as a student of the academy.

Keith said as he stood up.

I got up too and just as we walked towards the exit, we noticed that someone had yet to get up from his chair.

"Me, I disagree Keith. My mother's instinct tells me that this woman can take our son away from us."

Lou's gentle smile froze as he heard Elena's words.

Keith let out a sigh at the words and walked over to Elena taking her by the hand and pushing her towards the exit.

"So I'll see you starting tomorrow, Adad."

Lou said as we walked out.

As we left the office we met the secretary, who curtsied and walked quickly into the room.

"See you, Adad please say hello to your sister for us."

I waved goodbye to Keith, who was still pushing Elena and walked towards the residence.

I had expected the principal to be more fierce and not give permission to leave the school.

But unexpectedly it was... Easy.

Inside the principal's office.

A beautiful white-haired woman lay seated while another supported her.

"What happened, you are usually impressed when you see handsome men... but I've never seen you like this Sra. Louded."

Thanks to the female secretary's words Lou thought back to the boy she saw earlier.

Beautiful platinum Blue hair, a sculpted body, and beautiful fine facial features but at the same time a sense of manliness.

And to top it all off, that pair of cold, warrior-like eyes...

Lou couldn't take it anymore and fell into the secretary's arms with a red face.
