Chapter 4

After Jake put his gloves on they heard the sound of the hall speakers turn on.

"Attention to all students and staff! Attention to all students and staff!

A violent outbreak has taken place on school grounds!

All students are instructed to follow staff to safety at once!!

I repeat. A violent outbreak ha taken place on-

GYAAAAAAAAAAAH!

AH!

SAVE ME!

STOP IT!

PLEASE!

SAVE ME I'M GONNA DIE!"

After more wails of despair and screams the announcement finally stopped.

Brad said jokingly. "Do you think they'll really respect the safety protocol?"

Jason shook his head and said. "There's no way, a normal person would barely be sane in a situation like this.

This is where the true nature of humans come out. Everyone for their own survival."

Jake smirked and said: "That's deep, but what you're saying is true."

As soon as Jake stopped speaking it was like all hell broke loose.

Students started to get out of their classrooms hurriedly running towards the stairs.

Jake ran towards the bathroom and closed the door after Jason and Brad entered.

"It's worse than I expected."

Surprisingly, no one tried to open the door to the bathroom.

Brad said with a surprised expression: "Huh, it looks like they probably pissed themselves and didn't need to go to the toilet at all."

Jason said with a deadpanned expression. "Who would even go to the bathroom in this kind of situation?"

"I was just saying."

After the noise calmed down a bit Jake opened the door and went outside. "This school has three floors, we are on the first floor, any idea where the main cast is?"

While they were walking around Jason said. "On the rooftop, two of them should be there."

As they were walking on the halls towards the stairs they saw a zombie, it was a male student zombie.

Jake started walking near it and the zombie was running towards him.

Jake's arm bulged and you could see his the insane muscles and even veins on his arm.

*SWOOSH* *BOOM*

He winded up his punch a little and then punched the zombie right in the face.

*SPLATTER*

The zombie's head detached from it's neck and was sent flying into a wall where it splattered all over it.

"Too much strength, I should go easy on them if I don't want to make a mess."

Jason said from behind. "Look like your skill significantly improved your overall strength."

"Yeah, but these zombies don't know how to defend themselves.

So while they are stronger than the average human they are still weaker than experienced people."

Jake pointed at the ten zombies coming towards them and said. "You should give it a try too, make sure to not get bit.

Brad, you can't use your main fighting style here. If you try to tackle them you'll get bit."

"Understood."

Jake started walking towards the stairs with his hands in his pocket and said. "This one time you guys can use weapons or tools so you don't get bit."

Jason ran towards the crowd of zombies and jumped high in the air.

*BAM* *BAM*

He did a split kick hitting the nearest two zombies in the face.

The zombies lost balance and fell to the ground.

*STOMP*

Brad jumped upwards and stomped one of the zombies on the face.

The creature's face was caved in it's skull and it was dead.

*CRACK*

Brad kicked the soccer kicked the other one in the head and it's head cracked open.

*BAM*

Jason had his back turned to a zombie who was 4 meters away so he ran backwards and performed a back kick to its chest.

The zombie was sent flying to the ground and the other zombies started going towards the place where it fall.

Since these monsters act based solely on sound they will go towards the most recent and loudest one.

*SMASH* *CRACK*

While they distracted Brad took a chair that was in the hall and smashed multiple zombies in the head.

While they can't even scratch Jake they are still very strong compared to normal people, in middle school they could defeat big groups high school delinquents alone.

They could be called the top of the delinquent world if they were still active.

They continued destroying the flesh eaters while Jake was nonchalantly walking on the stairs, after they were done they caught up to Jake who was about to open the door to the roof.

Jake opened the door and they were welcomed by a bunch of zombies.

"Are you sure they're here?"

"Look to your right."

Jake looked to his right and saw some stairs going to the observatory, the weird thing is that the stairs were blocked by desks.

Jake whistled and said. "Impressive, that's better than mindlessly going outside just to get eaten.

Blocking yourself in a dead end that high gives you better chances of survival."

Jason smirked and said. "Exactly, the were able to think rationally in this situation.

But while it isn't the best choice out there, it's still slightly better than running away mindlessly."

Because Jake whistled the zombies were coming towards him.

Jason and Brad came forward and said. "We can take care of them."

Jake walked up to the observatory and saw a weird scene.

A girl holding a boy who was coughing up blood with another boy standing over them with a bat in his hand.

'He's coughing up blood excessively, that's no internal injury.

He's bit and his body is trying to reject the virus, too bad he's done for.'

Jason and Brad came from behind him and Jason said. "Those two that are not bit are part of the main cast, I'm surprised that there aren't any players around here."

"I was thinking about that too, maybe they made it illegal to actually try to do these quests so the common population will listen to the government, they are probably thinking of punishing everyone that does these missions."

Jason nodded and said "If what you said is true that means that the government is pathetically trying to cling to the little power they will have left over us."

Jake closed his eyes and said. "That's true, this world made me realize just how much our world will change once people wake up to reality.

Maybe they will try to force us to not use our skills in that world."

Brad put a hand on Jake's shoulder and said. "You're stressing yourself over nothing, all we need to do is complete the mission and then we will se what to do."

Jake smiled and said. "You're right, let's check how many zombies we need to kill."

Jake looked at his pocket and said. "1/100"

Jason said. "21/100"

Brad said "14/100"

"Then let's try completing these hidden missions they told us about since killing zombies is easy for us.

Jason, what do you think?"

"Like you said earlier, if we meet all of them we may gain some additional. But with how the missions are made I would say that killing them or seducing the women will do."

"Right, like with the quest to seduce Esdeath."

"Exactly, but I think it will be hard for us to seduce them so I suggest killing them."

The reason they were able to talk about killing people so easily is because they are somewhat deranged themselves.

Since kids they were exposed to violence so it became the norm.

And it isn't like they are good people anyways, random people they see on the street aren't even humans in their eyes.

And their mentality changed with the newfound skills and such.

But Jake was the one to change the most, while he was already a ruthless individual now he became worse.

He can crush normal people with ease and knives don't really work on him, it's like he's standing on a higher pedestal than the rest of them.

"What do you mean it's hard to seduce them? Don't you see how handsome I am?"

Brad laughed nervously and said. "Hahaha...

Go for it boss, I'm sure they won't be able to resist your charm."

"Hmph"

Jake jumped over the tables and said. "What's going on here?"

He saw the guy who was holding the bat hugging the girl who was crying over the fact that her boyfriend won't change like the rest of them.

He saw the guy look at him with a surprised expression while hugging the girl.

Jake put his hands in his pockets and said. "Bad timing?

I could swear that the guy whose head you cracked open earlier was her boyfriend.

Now she's hugging you? The person who just killed her boyfriend.

I guess she really is weak willed after all."

Jake was disappointed, he expected more from the main cast.

But this kind of mental strength is just like that of normal people, the only guy who is somewhat impressive is the guy she is hugging.

He managed to not lose his rationality too much, which for a high school student who has been living normally up until now is impressive.

The boy shoved the girl behind him and said while holding a bat. "Who are you?! You don't look like a student."

"Chill out, I'm just a person who broke into this school some time ago because I wanted to go to the bathroom.

If it makes you feel more at ease, I am probably around the same age as you."

The guy was holding even harder on his bat right now.

Jake sighed and said. "You don't want to cooperate, huh.

Too bad, I have to go with plan B."

The boy looked confused, but he didn't get much time to think about it since Jake arrived in front of him in a second with his fist raised up in the air.

"WHA-?!"

*SWOOSH* *BOOM*

Takashi raised his bat upwards in an attempt to block the incoming hit.

To his despair, the bat broke and the fist landed on his face.

Takashi's head was caved in the ground with the imprint of Jake's fist on his cheek.

He was most certainly dead.

He decided to give the woman a painless death so he said.

"No need to cry, it will be all over soon."

"NOOOOOO!"

Jake rotated his waist to get the most momentum he can and bulged his muscles.

*SWOOSH* *CRACK*

He brought his fist forward like a cannonball and punched her right in the face.

Her whole body was sent flying like 5 meters forward and she fell all the way to the ground.

Falling from a three story building would already be fatal, combined with the force from his punch she is dead, no doubt about it.

*WOOM* *WOOM*

He looked at his pocket and saw a new mission pop up.

[Mission completed!

Protagonist? I don't care! - Kill the protagonist.

Reward - 3 stat points]

Fuck the main cast! - Kill the core members of the main cast.

He saw a '+1' thing in his inventory so he looked there and saw some gloves.

[Jake Kim's gloves.

Description: A special reward granted to the person who completed the first hidden mission.

Grade: S+

Abilities: These gloves are nearly indestructible and the user will not feel any pain when using these gloves, can appear on the user's hands at will.

These gloves will not be able to be worn by anyone other than Jake Kim.

He took his current gloves off his hands and willed the ones from his inventory to appear on his hands.

*WHISTLE*

"I don't eve feel like I have gloves on my hands, they are very thin and weigh nothing."

He tried to take them off but he couldn't. "Looks like I have to will them to disappear."

He looked at the design and saw that they looked like black cotton gloves with golden embroidery.

On one glove there was written Jake and on the other one Kim.

'Nearly indestructible means that I will be able to block most attacks.

They are good for defense but that's it, if the attack overwhelms my strength I won't be able to block it.

If someone way stronger than me attacks me with a sword and I block with my hands that will result in my bones shattering.'

"Sweet."

Jason looked at the gloves on Jake's hands and said. "Those are custom, is that a reward?"

"Yes. It's a reward for being the first person to complete a secret mission"

"So what's the first secret mission completed ?"

"Kill the protagonist, they gave me three stat points."

"Oh, stat points.

I checked the stats earlier, they are kind of confusing."

Jake willed his gloves to disappear and he said. "I'll check them later.

Let's search for the rest of the main cast so I can finish the hidden mission."

"Yes boss!"
