Chapter 10

The three of them were walking in a forest.

Jason said while looking around for any tracks they can use to find a city. "We'll go after upper moon 6, the weakest out of the high ranking demons.

This demon has two stages, first is the girl who controls some kind of cloth with her blood demon art. She's pretty weak by herself so we should have no problem beheading her.

After beheading her, her brother will appear. This guy's stronger and and his blood demon art makes him able to control blood sickles that contain strong poison. If you get hit by them you're done.

But here comes the tricky part, we have to slice both of their necks at the same time in order to kill them off for good.

But Jake, here comes my question. Are you confident in beating someone who can slice buildings in half?"

"Hmph, I didn't stay still all these days. I put a lot of stat points into my status."

He summoned the knife that sends out air pressure, even though it is a little cracked it still works as good as new.

*SWOOSH*

He swung the knife with all of his strength and a strong, large and fast slash of wind emerged from his swing.

*BOOM* *BOOM*

The slash was about 4 meters in diameter and very thin. It cut through the trees in front of him for at least 10 meters until it dispersed. Trees fell one after the other.

While this was a full powered swing, he didn't feel exhausted at all.

Jason had his mouth wide open while Kazami's eyes were very wide open.

Jake said. "Heh, I'm starting to like these little toys more and more."

Even if Brad died and he lost one arm. His personality didn't change one bit, it's just that he has become more ruthless and lost most of his morals.

Even this whole hiding your identity thing is a little annoying but he started to think of it as cool.

He got over Brad's death because he knew that useless emotions will just be a hindrance to his goals, but that doesn't mean he will forgive the people who did that to him.

Forgiving others for their sins is for dumbasses, because if you forgive someone for doing something bad to you, they will do it again knowing that you will just let them go.

But what about just killing them? They will never do anything bad to you again.

Of course there are people you can forgive and you can't, and it just so happens that Jake can't bring himself to forgive the person who did that to Brad and took his arm.

The three of them finally arrived in a city, they were all looking around at the beautiful scenery.

Jake looked at the buildings and said. "This is the Taishō Period, right?"

Jason looked at all of the people who were looking at them weird and said. "Probably around 1920."

Jake too looked at the people who were looking at him weird. "They are confused by our clothes, do normal civilians know the existence of demons?"

"No, but we could meet a demon since it's night. Oh wait, I forgot we need Nichirin Swords to kill them, otherwise they won't die when we cut their head off."

Jake looked at Jason with a perplexed expression, even though you couldn't see his face and only his pitch black eyes it was clear he was flabbergasted.

"You should have told us that sooner!"

"I forgot! But if we crush them to the ground they probably won't be fast enough to regenerate."

"That's hard to do. Since I specialize in blunt attacks and sharp ones."

As they were walking around aimlessly they didn't realize that they walked into an area without any people.

They were in a narrow alley walking around and discussing what they should do when they meet the upper 6.

*BAM*

Suddenly, from their left. A wall busted open.

The three of them jumped in different directions at the same time.

Jake jumped backwards while Jason and Kazami jumped on the wall on their left.

It was a very pale human looking being with tattoos and very large muscles.

Jake looked at the thing in front of him and said. "Is that a demon?"

"Yes."

"Doesn't look that strong."

Jake sharpened his fingers using his skills and they became pitch black, he let them grow since he needed them to be long.

*SWOOSH*

The demon didn't even get time to react. Jake jumped towards him, cut his neck with his nails and landed behind him. (the reason he didn't die is because he didn't use his knife.)

*PLOP*

It's head fell to the ground besides Jake's feet.

Jake grabbed it by the head and looked at the scared expression on its face. "Take us to Yoshiwara, you should know where that is, no?"

The demon said. "Yes I know, just don't kill me!"

Jake looked back at Jason and said. "Are all demons like this?"

Jason shook his head and said. "There are thousands of demons out there, but there are only 15 or so that are worth mentioning. The rest, while stronger than the average human, are trash."

"I see, then we'll just use this one to be our guide."

The demon looked at Jake with a horrified expression, he has killed demon slayers until now but this guy was on another level.

He managed to cut his head off without him even noticing it, he didn't even try to regenerate since he knew he would be killed.

And there's the fact that he looks borderline scary.

Dressed in full black, with a hood over his head and a mask that only shows his pitch black eyes.

'He's more of a demon then me! I don't even know what he cut me with!'

This is the power of stat points, you can gain them randomly by killing players or completing missions, and Jake did the former.

His stats looked something like this.

[Stats:

Strength: 23

Speed: 25

Stamina: 31

Durability: 24]

{PS: The stats don't really matter since I can't make them 100% accurate for representing someone's strength.

So while reading this you can totally ignore this status because there will be some errors in the future.

Just think that players use stat points to develop the things listed in the status.}

1 point of status represents the status of an average adult.

So you can imagine, even with 10 overall status you could probably fight a bear and win with ease.

But these stats don't really mean much to Jake, since they are only numbers and can be inaccurate.

Jake started swinging the demon's head around and said. "Come one, give directions."

"Stop! I can't see if you shake me like that."

Jake stopped and the demon said. "Go straight down this road."

After hours of walking around they finally arrived where they were aiming to, the red light district.

Jason was looking around at the courtesans and said. "I know how she looks but I forgot her name, I know that she is an Oiran though."

Jake and Jason currently sitting on roofs using C graded presence hiding skills that are enough for you to not be noticed by normal humans.

Kazami was stationed somewhere on a tall rooftop looking through his scope at anything that stands out.

"Oiran? You mean she's an expensive prostitute?"

"Yes."

Jake looked at Jason with a stoic expression and said. "You bastard, are you sure we didn't come here just for you to get laid?"

Jason looked at Jake with an angry expression and said. "I don't do prostitutes!

I have a reputation that I need to maintain."

Jake raised his left arm and shrugged while shaking his head. "What kind of reputation are you talking about?

The people in the guild worship me, not you."

That was true, to convince most of the people to enter JK Jake used extreme violence on yakuza members and even tortured them publicly.

And when they became witness to his strength that faith become even bigger.

In moments of despair when things were at their worst a brightly shining light appeared and gave their life new meaning.

This made people listen blindly to Jake's words and some even worshipped him as a god.

Of course, the two people who were in charge of the whole guild knew about this.

But they chose to do nothing about it but even try and make these emotions of worship even bigger in order to spread word about the guild.

Fanatics who blindly follow someone would surely attract attention.

There weren't any kind of articles for them spreading throughout the world right now since Tokyo is the single no law zone in the whole country.

The rest of the situation was solved with the exception of Tokyo.

While the Yakuza fights the military, JK has become the third party that is aiming to destroy the Yakuza while still controlling a big part of Tokyo.

Tokyo has officially become the dark sheep of the world.

"Tch, it was my idea in the first place to go with the religious approach.

But in the near future when we will need to recruit other people we will have to make this fanaticism private."

Jake sat down on the roof and said. "Yeah, while it can prove as good publicity.

It will just make JK become a cult."

"There's nothing wrong with that, cults in novels and movies are usually the most powerful organizations."

"Speaking of novels, I will have to read cultivation novels since we will deal with cultivation worlds in the future, proven by today's quest."

"About that, I was already making some of the kids who joined the guild watch all of the anime out there and read all of the novels and manga out there.

When we get back from the mission you can buy a skill that lets players share memories with each other.

And then we will get all of the information we need for ourselves."

"I see, that's good then.

But I think that there are thousands or even more novels out there."

"Not to worry, they all have skills regarding reading or have a passion for it.

And even if this fails we still have archived everything in our own personal servers."

"The ones administrated by the Intelligence team then.

That's good, they all have skills regarding intelligence or information gathering."

As Jason was about to say something Jake raised his left hand and pointed somewhere.

Jason stopped himself from speaking and looked where Jake pointed.

It was a beautiful woman with pale skin, and a weird hairstyle.

She was in a building from across the street looking directly at them.

Jake opened his mouth and said. "I'm guessing she's the one we're looking for."

Jason narrowed his eyebrows and said. "Yeah, looks like a C graded hiding presence skill isn't enough to completely hide us from her."

"Looks like she's not completely weak then, let's see how she handles this."

He disappeared from his spot and Daki's eyes widened (The name of the female demon.)

'What? He disappeared?'

After two seconds of his disappearance a blur could be seen move behind Daki.

Jake was hiding behind Daki, in the corner of the dark room.

!!!

As soon as he stepped out in the moonlight Daki sensed his presence and she became alerted.

She looked with wide eyes at Jake who was standing in front of her, seeing him up close is even more weird than seeing him in the distance.

"Good evening, and...

Goodbye."

*SWOOSH*

Jake swung his left arm at inhuman speeds with his knife in his hand.

*BOOM*

A strong, fast and sharp gust of wind emanated from his swing and the whole room was cut in half since it was exactly 5 meters wide.

After the rubble settled Jake looked down at the woman's head which was sliced to the ground and said. "Come on, were you so surprised by my appearance that you forgot to defend yourself."

Jake scoffed and said. "What a demon you are."
