1 His New Dream

I lived my whole life serving the country. I valued and protected the country's honor and dignity. I didn't fight for glory, wealth and fame but for my country. I didn't fight just for anyone but for my country. All things that I did is for my country.

I didn't have my own family but I treated all my countrymen as one. Alas, I'm dying alone with only my medals watching me. I'm dying empty. I'm dying old and poor. Well, I'm dying. There are regrets but I'll die smiling so don't cry for me. Goodbye is near so take care my beloved country.

He is now thinking about his first stint in the military. His sucessess and mistakes. His friends and fellow soldiers. Some are now resting in peace but some are still alive. Some are still soldiers and serving as generals while some became government officials. He is hoping that they are all well and happy. He already forgave even those devils who betrayed him. He is powerless and can only think about them since he is alone.

40 years of service. A valiant general who dominated the battlefield. A master of the martial way who dominated all. A great man who became just a man after all.

The man who fought for his country's peace and freedom. The man who cried blood for his countrymen who died fighting and hoping. The man who respected by many but feared by his enemies is now alone in an isolated prison.

This great man, this same man was charged of war crimes after peace was obtained. This great man, this same man who was jailed and isolated to a dangerous mountain 10 years ago is still chained. He's weak and dying but still chained. He will die but nothing will change.

Since birth he didn't dream or wish for any. He didn't want any personal gain or money. But now he's dreaming, he's shouting and he's wishing while crying but then... He can only die smiling. He died smiling.

He wished that the gods will favor his next life, a life different from this. A life he can live, a life he can dream and believe. A new life indeed.
