CHAPTER 106

  Eden's POV

As the village heads and I huddled over the map, marking the safest routes and potential locations of the high Alpha, a sharp ache tugged at my heart. Desire surging through my veins. The weight of Elissa's absence pressed upon me, a constant reminder of the distance that separated us.

Even as I focused on the task at hand, I couldn't shake the sensation of running to her off, like a thread that had been abruptly severed my desires we're suddenly hulted.

Strangely, though, there was an undercurrent of calm that I sensed from her. It was as if was bound by a spell, I could no longer read her emotions. Although my wolf offered a sense of assurance that everything was alright I couldn't help but worry a bit.

It baffled me; I had given her my mark, as the curse stated we were not supposed to be able to bear the pain of being separated from each other. Yet, amidst the turmoil of my own emotions, she remained serene. She was in no pain that I could feel.
