1 Chapter Zero: Prologue

My name is Jung-hoon Lee I'm an average-looking guy with longish black hair and an athletic-like body and decent height. I just turned 19, and I am a freshman in college for law school. Being the young adult I am I work at a gas station/mini-mart called 11/7, making minimum wage. I play lots of video games in my free time like League of Champions and Skyram, the most popular games out right now. I get bugged about it from my parents saying I should go out more, saying I should hang out with my friends more often instead of being cramped up in my room. Even though the friends I do hang out with are the people I play all the games with, which my mom and dad don't seem to understand. I have a little sister A-Yeong Lee to who always nags me for staying home so much as well, just because friends at her school say her Oppa is too old to still be playing games most of his time and being cramped up at his parents home. (I mean do they expect me to be moved out already?!?!)

I did undergo a lot of bullying in high school, and it got worse throughout the year. It was to the point where I couldn't even summon the courage to go anymore. So my parents decided to have me transfer for my last year of high school. It was a good decision since I made the friends I have today and play games with most of my time, but now I'm always anxious around new people but also have a hard time being alone. This is why I got the job on 11/7 to try and help my anxiety of being around others and trying to work by myself. I have a tough time here and there but I usually pull through. It gets easier and easier as the days go by.

Anyway, this place is still so boring. I say this place but I mean this planet, this universe, this dimension, all of it. Even though my life is going on a straight path it's still just so boring that I can't stand it. Life would be great if it were like skyram, being able to use magic, fight monsters, and be a hero. But instead, I'm a student in college working at a gas station in this dumb town

"UGHHH I just wanna go home!" yelled Jung-hoon as he is sitting behind the cash register of an 11/7 store waiting to go home from a late-night shift. Bored out of his mind.

He gazes outside as it's pouring rain, hearing the sound of cars passing by, and people talking on the other side of the glass from the store. He can hear the slight rumbling of thunder and the rain hitting the ground as it falls from the sky as his thoughts wander to another world.

Staring out at the people and cars going by, but hearing the beep of a car snaps him back to reality "I wonder what mom cooked for dinner tonight" Jung-hoon thought to himself after the boredom flowed over his body waiting to leave from work.

Checking his phone to see if his mother texted him- "She usually texts me what's for dinner, I wonder if everything is ok."

While wondering if anything is wrong he texts his mom

[Hey what's for dinner? xD]

[Helloooo]

[MOM!]

He starts to text his dad, then his sister, and gets no reply. "what's going on?"

Suddenly he gets a phone call from his local hospital,

[Caller] "Hello is this Jung-hoon Lee?'

Stunned by the fact that a hospital is suddenly calling him and the fact that none of his family is answering, he nervously prepared himself for bad news and he answered "May I ask why I'm getting this phone call"

{Mr. Lee, I'm so sorry to tell you this but.... it seems your parents and sister have gotten into severe a car accident}

Shaking out of control and so anxious he could vomit, trying to sum up the courage he finally replies asking "Are they ok?"

[Caller] "…"

"I'm sorry to inform you Mr. Lee, that your parents are no longer with us and.... your sister is in critical condition, we don't know if she is going to last for much longer."

"Mr. Jung-hoon are you still there"

"Hello?"

In sheer panic and doubt, he couldn't even cry. He dropped his phone, hopped over the cash register, and ran out the door of the store to get on his bicycle and get to the hospital as fast as he possibly could. While riding he starts to breathe heavy on the verge of a panic attack, but he gets himself under control to get to his family.

As he finally arrives at the hospital he jumps off his bicycle and runs straight into the hospital. Running to the front desk

In a panicked tone, he slightly raises his voice and asks "My name is Jung-hoon Lee and I'm here to see my family, they just got into an accident, and I'm here to see them, please tell me where they are PLEASE!"

the lady at the front desk says in a serious but sincere manner, "Mr. Lee I know this is a very tense and horrible situation but I'm gonna have to ask you to please calm down for me, take a deep breath"

As Jung-hoon try's to calm down he inhales slowly, and exhales slowly "Please take me to my family"

She then said "ok follow me"

As he follows the lady he starts to feel his heart like it's about to rip out of his chest and feels like he is going to throw up his insides. Every step became harder and harder, and the walls around him started to twist and turn. Each breath becoming heavier and heavier, each step like a knife being jabbed into his stomach, they finally get to where his family is.

He goes up to the glass and looks through and sees his mom and dad laying on the stretcher, with pale skin like a zombie, bloodstains all over their face and arms, and the look of nothingness in their eyes.

Lady says most sincerely "I am truly sorry for what happened"

Jung-hoon from holding all his emotions in, breaks down crying like he never has before. The cry of Jung-hoon reached far and wide from within the hospital, and those near him looked at him with sympathy and kindness but respectfully gave him his space to let the sorrow pass.

Jung-hoon after collecting himself he goes over to see his sister and in tears says "H.....Hey sis, how are feeling"

Standing and waiting for a reply you only hear the sound of the life-support machine that is pumping air into her lungs keeping her alive. Jung-hoon staring at his sister in this vegetative state starts to break down again in front of her.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you through this...." "I'm sorry..."

She then grabs his hand with the littlest amount of strength and says in a weak voice with the last bit of her energy she has and says

"take care, big brother..." her grip from his hand loosens and falls to the bed in a slow and sorrowful manner, machine then goes off as her heart eventually stops {beeeeeeeeeep}

Him staring in disbelief and despair calls her name hoping she will awake one last time "A-Yeong!" "A-YEONG!" "A-YEONGGGGGGGGG!"
