Prophecy

The next day approached swiftly, Vanessa walked through the hallway that led to the throne room with excitement surging through her. It was finally the day to prepare for the execution of Neo Tempest, her mom's killer. She was finally going to exact her revenge on the last member of the Tempest family.

As she approached the throne room, her eyes caught her father and his special advisors talking, not wanting to interrupt she hid herself in a closed space nearby and eavesdropped on them.

"Your majesty, is it wise to end the life of an innocent child because of some prophecy that is not even all that realistic?" The special advisor to the king questioned his king's motives.

The king crossed his arms unaware of his daughters presence. "It is irrelevant whether or not that child is innocent, as long as he is a direct descendant and the last member of the Tempest family then he must be sacrificed in order to ensure my reign."

Vanessa was taken aback by her father's words.

"I-innocent?" She muttered softly under her breath to prevent being spotted.

"What do they mean by he is innocent?" She immediately remained silent in order to obtain more Intel about what they discussed.

"As you wish your majesty."

The king nodded and walked towards his throne room, his crown crafted purely from gold reflected the sun's rays as he looked over his shoulder at his special advisor.

"Prepare for the execution of the last survivor of the Tempest family, today I will put an end to the prophecy."

The special advisor to the king nodded in affirmation before walking towards the other end of the hallway. Vanessa hid herself as the special advisor passed her leaving the hallway that led to the throne room.

Vanessa stepped into the hallway after her father had gone into the throne room and his special advisor left the hallway to begin preparations for the execution of Neo. Determined to find out just what was going on she headed towards the throne room.

"I'll get to the bottom of this." She spoke to herself not in anyway pleased with the discovery she just made.

THUD!

The large doors of the throne room were pushed open by Vanessa before she walked through them. The king's eyebrows were raised in surprise by the sudden entrance of his daughter.

"How dare you barge in here like that! Who do you think you are!?" Prince Nicholas shouted rudely at his sister from his throne.

His foul behavior was something Vanessa always ignored as nothing good ever came out from arguing with him.

King Leonard stretched his hands sideways prompting Nicholas to shut up, he as well was getting tired of the princes behavior.

"Anything the matter sunshine?" King Leonard asked his daughter as she stood in front of the throne.

"What do you mean by Neo is innocent?" Vanessa asked.

The king's eyes widened a bit expressing his astonishment as he realized that Vanessa overheard the conversation between him and his special advisor. She crossed her arms awaiting his response as to why he lied to her.

"So you heard.."

He stood up from his throne, lying would be a waste of time not mention he'd lose his daughter's trust even more. He already told his daughter once before that Neo Tempest and his family were the ones who killed her mother.

"Yes he is innocent, he is not responsible for the death of your mother." He answered her question.

"Why?" Vanessa didn't waste anytime questioning her father why he lied to her, all this time she directed her hate at Neo Tempest for the wrong reason.

"Because my love, you possessed the same warrior spirit your mother once did, and I knew you were the only one strong enough to capture the boy. He might not be responsible for your mother's death.

But he is responsible for several deaths of our people and has proven to be one of the kingdoms most dangerous threat, both him and his family."

Vanessa knew he was lying even as he spoke the truth about her mother's death, she overheard the conversation between her father and his special advisor so the reason why he wanted to execute Neo was still unclear.

"But that didn't mean you'll send me on a man hunt for the wrong person!"

Vanessa played along not to raise her father's suspicions because she already made up her mind to investigate and find out just exactly what was going on and to uncover the secrets between her father and his royal advisor.

"If Neo Tempest didn't kill my mother, then who did father?" She questioned the king with a straight face which led him to believe that she actually bought his story. He walked towards her and gave her a hug placing her head on his chest.

"Don't worry sunshine, your mother's killer has been dealt long ago, I'm truly sorry but I needed the best of the best to capture and takedown Neo Tempest for the sake of our kingdoms survival in this war."

This impactful discovery left Vanessa flustered, If Neo truly did not kill her mother then has he being saying the truth all this while.

"It's alright father, I understand your intentions. This war has taken a lot from us so I understand why you had to resort to this."

King Leonard kissed the head of his daughter before withdrawing his hands back.

"I knew you'd understand sunshine, now if you excuse me I have urgent matters to return to."

Vanessa nodded in affirmation to her father's words and left the throne room while king Leonard went back to his throne.

"That was close, any slight hesitation and I would have lost my daughter's trust. I have to be more careful where I have my conversations."

He highlighted his mistakes before resuming what he was doing earlier before Vanessa barged in, searching for the perfect execution method for Neo Tempest.

"You give her too much freewill father, just like you did mom and you know where that got her." Prince Nicholas spoke with frustration as to how Vanessa always gets away with everything.

"Silence child!"

The king revolted, he wished not to speak of his queen's death as it still affected him up till now considering she died four years ago.

Vanessa wasn't pleased with the answers she got nor was she pleased that her father lied to her, she was determined to figure out why her father wanted Neo dead and who exactly he was.

She went back to the dungeon, arriving at the door leading to the underground dungeon she stopped looking at the two knights who guarded the prison.

"Don't allow anyone down here until I'm done with what I came to do, do you understand?"

The two knights placed their hands swiftly at their sides nodding in affirmation to the princess orders.

"Yes your highness!"

They responded simultaneously as Vanessa walked back down the stairs and into the underground dungeon, she stopped in front of Neo's cell and turned to face the assassin who gazed at the ceiling with his hands binded by chains behind his back.

"Ahem"

She cleared her throat drawing the attention of Neo to her, he faced down staring at Vanessa after being drawn away by her from his thoughts.

"Look at you, visiting your mother's murderer twice. You must really want to shove a knife down my throat, well go ahead. Dying in such a manner is manly"

Vanessa had her hands behind her, displaying her authoritative status. She could tell Neo was joking around trying to ease the thought of him getting killed.

"I know you didn't kill my mother."

Neo stood up from the ground, using his hands behind his back as a boost.

"Do you now? if only someone told you this before, oh wait I did right after you chained me up for no reason!"

Neo expressed his frustrations, he wasn't given enough time to process his transmigration but he was captured as quickly as he resurrected in another body.

"Nonetheless, what I want to know is, who are you really and what do you and your family who were one of the kingdom's elite force have against my father?"

Neo struggled to regain blood flow in his arms that were binded by chains till this very moment, Vanessa refused to release him from those chains till he identified who he truly was and why her father was afraid he'd dethrone him.

"If I told you, you wouldn't believe me princess."

Vanessa remained immobile, she was unfazed and that said there was nothing that she'd hear now that would surprise her after everything she had being through.

"My name is Neo Tempest."

Unlike the background Neo didn't shared with the previous inhabitant of the body, they shared the same name. However their eye color and hair along with the tone of their skin was different. The Neo from earth had black hair, black eyes and a fair skin, while the current Neo had white silky hair, blue eyes and a pale skin.

"I'm of the Tempest family, but I didn't kill anyone, nor do I have anything against the king"

Neo decided to stick with what everyone knew him as, after all in his previous world he died so his link to earth had been severed, here he is Neo Tempest of the Tempest family.

"Do you know anything about a prophecy concerning the current king of the Suzana empire and the Tempest family?"

To Neo that had to be the most silliest thing he had heard since he transmigrated, and he transmigrated.
