I managed to dodge the blow of the gramila, whose fist slammed into the wall right next to my head. Wasting no time, I turned my palm towards the opponent, and a moment later, flames of fire flew out of it.

"Happened?" - jumping away from the burning thug, I concentrated on the flame of fire, which became smaller with every second.

- Oh, you little bastard! roared the enemy, whose skin was covered with earth.

"Crap!"

Without giving him a chance to strike, I attacked him with a flurry of earthen bullets. But even they, inflicted only small wounds in the armor of the brute. The enemy boldly rushed in my direction, brandishing his fist once again, each of his blows seemed to be able to kill me. I tried to dodge his huge hands, in which perception helped me a lot.

"I need to do something.. if my attacks don't take him, I'll have to use the dagger, there seems to be one ability that might break through his defense." I focused on the dagger in my hand, trying to keep an eye on the thug's hands. Mana began to collect at the tip of the blade, I tried to squeeze it as much as possible. At one point, the blade of my dagger glowed blue.

Feeling the mana trying to escape, I swung the dagger, releasing all the collected energy. A small blue slash erupted from my weapon and hit the brute squarely in the chest. The enemy fell, and with a painful expression, grabbed his bleeding chest, where a deep wound was visible.

The trembling in my hands subsided when the master's hand rested on my shoulders.

- You did a great job, go back to the cages and let the people out, I'm right behind you - he said with a reassuring smile.

- ..Good.

On my way back to the cages, I heard a few screams.

"..Looks like the old man didn't stand on ceremony with them. Okay, I have another task."

Approaching the lock of one of the doors, I called fire on my finger, making it stronger and stronger, and then melted the lock, and so with all four cells. There was disbelief and joy on the faces of the freed people and elves, they thanked me for saving them.

Then the teacher ordered me to go home, and said that he would deal with the rest himself.

Further training took place in the regular mode, missions were only added to it, the money for which, the teacher, kindly divided between us. The missions were mostly to rescue the slaves, but sometimes we just went into the dungeons, where the teacher stood in the rear, and I had to kill the monsters alone. In one of their dungeons, ice wolves got into my opponents, I immediately remembered the days when I first got into the dungeon. The wolves were not too difficult opponents, simply by sending a fireball the size of a tunnel, I quickly reduced their population. From the boss, I dropped a mana core, which I left in my inventory for now.

So, it's been six months.

- You've completed your studies.

I looked at the teacher with bewilderment, with a spoon of soup brought to his mouth.

- ..Uh, that is?

"I taught you everything I could, now you need to gain combat experience, and for this, continue clearing dungeons with other adventurers…"

For a few seconds, I digested what the old man had said. And I realized that he was right.

They are mages of the white core, having received their power from ancient artifacts. Twenty years ago, when I was on a mission to the Animal Glades, a mana beast of the S-class Manticore stood in my way. I defeated him, but ... it turned out he was not alone. I underestimated the second beast, which is stronger than the first one, and lost my mana core.

"..So that's why, I didn't feel any mana from him…"

"..I failed an important mission, and was disgraced in disgrace, which is how I ended up here.

- I see, now much makes sense, - I stood up, bowing deeply to the old man, - Thank you for teaching me!

The teacher smiled warmly.

Nodding, I gathered all my few belongings and left the house with my teacher.

"A year and a half has passed since I became an adventurer."

I stood in front of the entrance to the AA-class dungeon, looking at the assembled group. My attention was attracted by a boy who had just arrived, with a mask on the floor of his face, white hair.

"What is the child doing here?"

"You're finally here," a tall man with a wand on his belt approached him.

"Aaron, a caster with a solid orange core, and also an A-rank adventurer."

His statement surprised me, although I did not fully believe what he said. Although, from the way the other two adventurers in the group looked at him, he seemed to be quite famous.

- I'm glad you joined us, let's get started?

The dungeon was inhabited by "Silver Bears", an A-class mana beast, and the boss was an AA-class mana beast. I kept glancing at Aaron, who had excellent mana control, silently casting spells. And gradually it became clear that he was not lying.

We cleared the dungeon without any problems, and began to disperse. As I was walking towards the guild, I was thinking about the boy I met when I heard someone approaching from behind. Looking back, I saw Aaron stopped a meter away from us.

His question put me in a stupor.
