Gamer in RWBY

Disclaimer All copyrighted content is the property of its respective owner(s). You know the cliche someguy gets transmigrated and have to be the hero of their own stories right? Well this guy Albus Goodwitch has the LUCK of being transmigrated into the world of Remnant or RWBY a web series show. Knowing the plot and very much lack of faith of the MC of the show he decided to put himself in harms way to hopefully achieve his goals of peace. Fortunately the unlikely Goodwitch didn't come alone as he has the powers of The Gamer to help me out. --- Also first time doing a Gamer Fic so I do hope you don't mind the mistakes I might make along the way.

Chapter 8: Rose Family (1)

~Albus POV~

*Vroom*

Taking a Bullhead to Patch after renting a hotel room for the day having about 6 days left before the plot begins. Not the timing I wanted but better than nothing poor Jaune though…

Thanks to my LUCK it screwed him over… well… at least I know what team to go towards to make plot-relevant and be sure to keep myself in good and strong company. I just need to hope for the best.

Although Patch is new territory for me I have been reading up on it as I have been searching everything I could about it with my Scroll.

Patch is a small island to the west of Vale. It is also the location of Signal Academy and where Yang Xiao Long and Ruby Rose were raised. These forests are known to contain Beowolves and Ursai as well as some native nature-type Grimm in the general area.

However, there hasn't been much of a problem there since the Huntsman living in the area are more than able to handle them. Also thanks to the Combat School at Signal keeping the peace in the area.

The island is safe enough for a family to live in their house and for people to build a combat school but is also large enough to have areas infested with Grimm like its forest.

Patch is relatively secluded and includes heavily forested areas that Yang ventured into, bringing Ruby along with her when they were very young in an effort to learn more about her missing mother, Raven Branwen.

Many Grimm has appeared in the forests of Patch. Notable examples are a large amount of smaller Beowolves and a Giant Ursa. The Cliffside Forest is a forest located on the island of Patch it features a sheer cliff, a dense forest, and a large clearing.

"All Passengers we are now entering the general area island of Patch!"

Listening over to the pilot as he drives the airship I oversee the island of Patch. Signal Academy is in full view already knowing is a primary combat school located on the island of Patch, in the Kingdom of Vale.

Now I just need to find Tai and explain the situation as it has been said in the letter.

*Thud*

Finally dropping off from the flight and paying the piolet I began to follow the instructions of finding the person Taiyang home according to the instructions of Ozpin. With that, I began to walk my way observing the island.

Got to admit it has a homey feeling vibe here must be safe enough to keep this atmosphere.

Man, maybe I should live here when I have the chance. Probably getting enough Lien to be able to pay for a home here.

Now then if I follow this path I would be able to enter the forest here. Although the Grimm in the area makes it hard for some people but not impossible.

Actually, maybe I should equip myself with a weapon as I began to search my Inventory and get Roman weapon Melodic Cudgel to see it in full view.

<Observe>.

[<Observe> LEVEL UP]

---

Item: Melodic Cudgel

Melodic Cudgel initially appears to be a normal cane; however, when used for combat, the base of the cane raises a reticle for aiming, while also uncovering the muzzle. It fires an unstable flare or discharge of what is possibly Dust, which creates a distinct whistling sound when airborne and explodes on impact.

Melodic Cudgel is shown to be capable of firing at least two types of projectiles: one with a red flare, and one with a white flare. Its explosive capabilities are enough to detonate Dust crystals, is also capable of firing multiple shots in quick succession, displaying a high capacity for ammunition. The cane also seems capable of fending off both bladed weapons and projectiles.

The handle is also attached to a tether and can be fired over long distances to reel in a fleeing target. The body of Melodic Cudgel is also very flexible and also capable of hooking its own flares, which Roman then throws at enemies. The major design flaw in the weapon is its lack of a safety lock.

+45 damage when using its flares.

+40 damage when used to bash.

Whistle~

Now, this is a good weapon to have but the safety lock is not really reassuring but I'm definitely keeping his weapon. Better than the other weapons I have of the red swords and handguns I got from the thugs.

"Yo good looking what ya doing around these parts!"

Before I could continue though I was somewhat surprised by the sudden talk to me as I turned around to see another character from the show. Yang Xiao Long in the flesh as I responded to her hoping she would help to reveal the letter, "Oh? Sorry, my lady but I have been tasked to give this letter to Mr. Taiyang Xiao Long. You see I have been sent here for a specific reason. Oh, where are my manners I'm Albus Goodwitch it's a pleasure to meet you, miss?"

Her eyes widen at this as she grins happily as she pointed her finger at me with accusation as she began to reply surprised, "Wait it was you that protected my baby sister from that blast from that Roman asshole!"

She quickly changed her tune as she expressed a grateful expression as she thanked me for helping her sister out, "Oh man you seriously have my thanks for helping Ruby out. I heard a bit from you from her taking a hit when your aura was down I would think you were in a hospital man. Dust explosions aren't a joke when they can seriously harm a guy. Oh, wait the names Yang Xiao Long Albus right? I can lead you to my home dad is probably there."

Ah, I guess Ruby still kept her end of the secret for keeping my powers a secret. I have to thank her for that maybe she can help me out creating a new weapon for now though I have to deal with the present issue at hand.

Nodding my head I accepted the offer that Yang provided as my guide to her home as we both began to walk towards her home. She asked some things about me and the reason for my stay here in Patch for at least 6 days here.

I gave her a brief run down how my powers worked of being a Gamer as she seems impressed with my powers as well as that being one of the reasons why I haven't shown any signs of danger to myself.

Usually, most people wouldn't be this trustworthy sharing their gamer powers with others but frankly, I don't mind the help when it benefits me. That and hiding my power wouldn't be any good for a long of things anyway.

Hell, the original Gamer had allies he can trust and didn't abuse, and others in fiction seem to be more of a controlling type or evil in some cases. I would rather not fall in that category if I can help it.

The more we walked down the forest in this area Yang asked some questions of what I used my Level Up Bonus stats on curiously enough, "I can't believe your semblance actually makes your life a literal video game character. Even having loot from what I heard… I can't help but feel like it's cheating even. But out of curiosity sake what did you waste your bonus points on anyway?"

Listening to her growing excitement in her voice I shrugged at this as he responded what he put on as he also replied about his level honestly, "I put it all on LUCK so far. Since my semblance The Gamer I will call it made me reset everything to level 1 again it made it hard to redo all the work as well with the memory loss. Knowing what happens in life I thought it might be wise to increase all my points in LUCK."

Yang looked at me with some amusement but also confusion when I placed my bonus stats in LUCK. Out of curiosity, she asked why would I put it on LUCK in a confused voice, "Wait so you put it all in LUCK so far? I can get it but how does that exactly work in the real world exactly? Do you get lucky in lotteries or something like that?"

Chuckling at her question as it escaped my mouth I begin to explain why I chose to put it on LUCK as I replied, "Hohoho. Yes, I suppose you can see LUCK in that perspective then yes. But at the same time no. LUCK is nothing but at the same time everything. Tell me what stat would matter more in a life or death situation? STR or AGI?"

As expected she gave me her reply about using it on STR to easily defeat most people. But also counted that AGI could just be as important.

But in the end, she shook her head as I began to explain to her why the earlier question I answer with LUCK, "Sure, those would be good but when it all comes down to is… trusting your LUCK to pull you through to come back alive."

To that, I believed that to be the truth.

Everything in this world when a person is born all depends on LUCK if they are born to a rich family or good environment to become strong or weak. LUCK has a big role in everyone's lives whether they choose to believe it or not.

A statistic in a game that is given a rather vague description from almost all sources, even official. Of course, this stat will go under scrutiny by the fan base for its purpose in the game.

Common interpretations of the Ever-so-Vague Stat LUCK:

It determines how often a Critical Hit can happen or, for that matter, how rarely a Critical Failure strikes.

It determines how often you get nicer things from Random Drops which a Random Drop Booster may increase.

it determines or adjusts how frequently you hit and/or get hit.

It determines how lucky you are at the Mini-Game, especially the gambling-based ones.

It determines your chances of getting a Last Chance Hit Point when taking an otherwise fatal hit.

It helps raise the other stats every now and then by just a little bit.

It bends the Random Number God a bit more to your favor (especially in case of damage calculations).

In other words, it usually revolved around Gameplay Randomization. In many games, it can be interpreted as "divine favor", especially if the good guys have lots of it.

The fact that this is probably the hardest stat in the game to raise permanently and temporarily doesn't help to dispel the mysticism.

Expect a guide to arise explaining what the stat actually does if the guide itself isn't vague about it either. If Luck Stat is implemented poorly, some of the sections of the game can be Luck-Based Mission type.

Contrast Luck Manipulation Mechanic, which is a game element that allows a player to actively re-attempt chance-based events, as opposed to the more passive bonuses commonly provided by a Luck Stat.

Named after the ever-so-vague Luck Stat that appears in video games and gets paired with the aforementioned ever-so-vague description. Of course, this also applies to other kinds of stats.

"Grr…"

Glancing at the distance ahead of us there seem to be two Beowolves ahead of us as Yang already took her fighting stance as I view the stats they have. <Observe>.

[Grimm]

Beowolves Lv.18 (1800/1800)

[Grimm]

Beowolves Lv.13 (1300/1300)

Guess our talk is cut short as these beasts came out of nowhere but at least I can raise my level as the saying goes Game on.
