Growing up

As the first year passes, he completes two quests that granted him fifty xp each, [First Steps] & [First Words].

Completing these quests gave him his first level up, after acquiring five points, he out three into DEX and two into STR.

He also found out that he receives five Store Points for each level up.

Now, walking like a pro and talking almost full sentences with the occasional stutter or lisp, he finally had some motor control over his limbs.

He wasn't allowed to leave the house while Graham wasn't around but he didn't mind, he didn't have the body to protect himself yet.

With almost no muscles due to being a toddler, he couldn't train his STR stat, but he could walk and run, which he did constantly.

He only had a few books to read that belonged to his grandfather.

He knew that even if they were related, a toddler that suddenly became mature and studied all the time would be suspicious as fuck.

He had increased several of his stats by a few points by doing certain actions or convincing Graham to buy him things when they went to the market.

Four years pass by, he spends this time training, bonding with his grandfather, completing quests. and leveling up.

After his fourth birthday, Graham started growing weaker due to some kind of illness.

He could tell his grandfather wouldn't make it past his tenth birthday.

Now, in the same room sitting comfortably on his bed, a slightly taller Alex looks at his system.

====================

'I'm glad to see my stats growing due to me getting older, even if the changes are minimal'

'System, can you answer questions?'

[This system can answer basic questions]

'What are the stats of the average adult male?'

[Twenty-five in all stats]

'Hmm, i should be able to pass those before i become a teen'

"Alexander, come over here for a second", the old man says with a husky voice.

Getting up from his bed he steps towards him, "Yes. grandpa?"

Graham smiles, "We will be going to stay with a friend of mine, he's an old knight that will teach you to defend yourself"

The child beams at him, "Really!?"

Grandpa nods before holding the boy's hand and leaving the only house the child had ever known.

As they walk through and way past the market, after an hour of walking, they reach a reasonably large house, outside of this house, a man and a little boy around his age are fighting with wooden swords.

"Lorik, i brought my grandson like i said i would", Graham interrupts their practice.

The boy training with curly black hair and tanned skin turns towards them with the old knight, "he runs over and greets them, "Hi, I'm Lorik"

Playing along with the boy's enthusiasm, Alexander shakes his hand, "I'm Alex, grandpa said I'd get to train here"

Allon nods before pointing at the muscular old man talking with Graham, "That's Harold, he's an old knight from a land to the west, he'll train you alongside me"

The knight looks over at him, "Alexander, come here and pick up a wooden sword from the rack"

Doing as he's told, he takes a shortsword from the rack before standing opposite of the old man.

The knight nods, "good choice, due to your age and height, you wouldn't be able to wield a normal wooden sword... now, attack me"

Before he can make a move, a notification pops in front of his face.

[Quest: Impress Ser Harold - Reward: 100xp]

ignoring the pop-up, he pivots on his right foot and runs towards the older man with a burst of speed.

he feints left before swinging right with his sword, catching the knight unaware.

With quick reflexes, the knight brings his sword up and deflects the attack before feeling something pointy against his gut.

Looking down he sees the boy holding a wooden dagger against his stomach, "Haha, good fight, you win"

[Quest Complete: Impress Ser Harold - Reward: 100xp]

[Level Up!]

The boy laughs along with him, "i only won due to you underestimating me"

Harold shakes his head, "a win is a win, doesn't matter how your opponent acts, all that matters is that you win"

"Now, go take a seat, I'll continue my fight my Lorik"

Sitting on a nearby barrel, he opens his system and puts one point into Dexterity and four into Vitality.

The sun quickly sets and it's time to sleep in his no home.
