Game to Live

The start. At the start of the year 2020, a new online community came into existence. No one ever explained what it was, and neither understood what it was about. There was a huge mystery as it seemed people inside were from other worlds. The common theme was them talking about a particular world that combined all the magical stories as well as all of the eastern novels together into the world where it all existed together. The world was named "Game to Live". On January 15th 2020, Kyle saw it in an online community of his favourite MMORPG. An elf character, level 62, mentioned that "I have decided to accept an invite to 'Game to Live' I hope that there I can grind to my heart's content." After reading the thread further, he didn't find anyone else mentioning it. After he refreshed the page, the comment was gone and that persons account got banned. What's more that it seemed anything that person posted ever online was evaporated from the server. Join Kyle in exploring the new world that is full of opportunities. See how Kyle uses the system as well as old and ancient cultivation techniques to stand above everyone. Not a Harem.

Chapter 18 - Preparations to Move out

Kyle was sitting in his rented room on the third floor of the tavern, with a meal and a mug of ale that was brought up by a waiter.

He was still analysing what he just learned from Marta and what he saw in this village. He needed to understand what exactly was going on and what his path should be.

After he finished talking to Marta, he was approached by a couple of adventurers that just lost a fighter and needed someone to take aggressive monsters attention so that they could strike with arrows and swords. Basically, they needed a throwaway tank. They even offered to split the loot equally.

After Marta has told Kyle what type of people live in this Kingdom, he decided that he will make his interactions with citizens as small as possible. He didn't want to be killed while sleeping or caught in a trap. It was not in his plans to be killed before he was able to grow.

What reassured Kyle is that, 'It seemed that it was tough to level up in the world. Even on the outskirts of the civilisation, on the frontlines, people were still only level 0 like him. Also, Marta didn't say a word about cultivation, hopefully, because it is extremely rare and powerful.'

Kyle ate his food which tasted really bluntly. It was some type of meat and a cabbage leak. Also, after Kyle tasted the ale, he decided against drinking it. It was the same as soapy water that had some pieces of soap in it. It was a disgusting drink.

Kyle decided that he will move out of this village tomorrow and will head toward where the White Wolf guild was heading as well. He wanted to see where would he meet even more powerful and challenging monsters.

Kyles main headache were the items that occupied all of his storage room. He had to either sell them or store them somewhere before he moved out. He didn't want to leave any loot lying on the ground this time. He thought about it and decided that the best course of action would be to store it in the cave around 15 kilometres from the village. Kyle was fortunate enough to kill a bear that was residing within that attacked Kyle when he was going for the village.

Kyle also thought about storing some of the items in the mine that he found a while ago, but it would take him 7 days to travel only there, plus the guild was moving out tomorrow.

As Kyle didn't want to be killed by a level 1 leader of the guild, he approached her the very next day at the same spot in the tavern. "Good evening, my name is Kyle. I have heard that you will be going to try the spider liar tomorrow morning. I am also going in the same direction, and it would be too dangerous for me to move by myself, could I perhaps go with your guild to that area?" The elf hasn't even looked at Kyle while he was speaking.

Instead of her answering him, a burly human elf showed him 2 fingers held in the air, "2 gold and you are welcome to come. We saw you trading with the bartender yesterday. We are not stupid." He whole face was showing a delight of earning a coin.

Kyle really wanted to see and interact with other adventurers a little bit more, plus with the power of Dominion Technique, after he trained for more than a week now, he was sure he wouldn't get trapped and surrounded. Kyle wasn't able to get the battle and movement techniques from the book just yet, but the qi that was strengthening his leg muscles made him much stronger than before.

Kyle knew that it was an unreasonable sum, but he was not in any need of money right now. He took out 2 gold and placed it in front of the guild leader. The man took the gold and said, "Tomorrow at sunrise be at the front gate. Don't be late, we are not waiting." he carried on drinking ale out of his mug and turned back to having a conversation with other humans at the table.

Kyle knew that he would go for a long expedition this time, so he had to get as many human-made utilities as he could. He got bread, rations and lots of water that he all stored inside the pearl. For some reason, Kyle noticed that once the food was inside the storage area, it stopped degrading as if there was some type of time lock in that area. Even though it was very annoying that he couldn't store any living beings inside due to that, but for food, it was very convenient! That meant that he didn't need to worry about rotten food ever!

'I need to see if there is anything like health potion or teleportation, just in case.' Kyle went and spoke with Marta but found nothing useful. She couldn't tell him about either. She never heard of teleportation, and health potion sounded to her the same as a fairy tale that people tell each other of immortality.

What Marta did say, was that large cities had alchemists that were skilled in potion-making of various kind. Kyle noted that for the future.

As Kyle was walking outside in the village, he noticed that some of the inhabitants put wooden tables with some items for sale outside. The White Wolf guild was moving out tomorrow, and there were many adventurers buying things that they could use to protect themselves or to attack better.

Kyle also went to see if anything was of use. He still had some gold left after all of the bad trades he had to take.

Some of the items were just utilities that Kyle was looking for. A toothbrush, some type of wooden blocks that were very easy to light in case there was rain outside. A skinning knife just in case the system didn't want to absorb the beast or there was something valuable that he wanted to take. Also, he took some type of flashcards that when pressed in, would explode in very bright light, confusing enemies. He was not sure of how useful that could be, but as a last resort to confuse enemy, that would make sense.

Backpack made out of leaver and a sleeping bag were bought mostly to not alert people of his storage device.

Some of the shops also sold weapons and all of them were made out of some orange metal. The most important thing that Kyle saw was that none of the weapons had a crystal embedded into them. The items were very different from what the system produced in both quality and the look. As soon as Kyle picked up on the items to check it, a notification rang asking if he wanted to upgrade the item, Kyle ignored the notification for now but bought 5 different weapons types to experiment with.

Kyle bought some normal looking clothes and shoes and with that done headed back to the tavern.

In his room, Kyle started cultivating just as he usually did during the night. Kyle was sleeping much less than usual now, around 5 hours per night as the qi that was strengthening his muscles also sometimes entered his head and was nourishing something inside. This caused his to swap the sleep for meditation which provided the benefit of qi accumulation.

Today, just as Kyle was about to end his movement practice, he got a series of notifications:

[ You have achieved Middle Body Tampering Realm! ]

[ You have reached 50% from level 0 ! ]

Living the first village. Too bad it didn't have a proper merchant guild!
