It was incredibly dangerous to venture alone, which caused more and more people to force these so-called groups. The group didn't want only to stay together. It also wanted to get something from each member of the group. It could be either hunting, farming, or maybe making weapons or food for the group. That is how the first initial tribal societies have formed.

Where there are societies, there have to be occasional conflicts. If a particular individual did not fit in or disagreed with the others, they would be cast out from the group and the settlement. Back in the day, it meant a sure and painful death by either poison or by the beasts.
