Game of Thrones: Wolf of the East

The Company of Rose is one of the oldest and most famous free companies in Essos. It was founded by the self-exiled royalty of House Stark who refused to bend the knee with Torrhen Stark, the king who knelt, when he vowed his loyalty to Aegon the Conqueror in 1 AC. After the Fall of the Dragons, Sirius Stark, the current head of the Company of Rose, decides to return to Winterfell to reunite their estranged family. ------------------------------------------------------------------- A young history student dies suddenly while studying the Book of The Dead suddenly finds himself in a great hall facing 42 solemn men in weird clothing, an obscenely tall man with an African Wolf head holding a queer scale and on its two pans was one human heart and on the other was a feather of some bird. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I do not claim ownership of Game of Thrones or any related characters belonging to Game of Thrones. Ironborn Raid

The Ironborn were caught unaware when a man approached them swiftly and swung his glaive horizontally cutting two men at the same time, he kept pushing through their loose lines cutting and slashing left and right. He leaped into a man holding a giant axe and clashed blades with him, he kept adding strength to his arm till his enemy kneeled down holding his axe horizontally to keep the glaive away from his neck. Sirius kicked him in the guts suddenly and pierced his torso with the tip of his black valyrian blade and moved on to the next target.

He was the bane of the lightly armored raiders as he wielded the mighty enormous glaive with the speed of a normal man's dagger-wielding. Although it is a glaive that has a thin sharp edge, its blows had enough power in it to crush armors like a war hammer, adding to that its Valyrian steel blade it could cut through their primitive iron weapons like mud.

Suddenly Sirius heard a high-pitched scream that he easily recognized as a woman's voice, he looked up as he saw a gorgeous girl with flowing black hair. The girl was embroiled in a savage melee with two raiders as she threatened them fiercely with her morningstar. He knew she is a Mormont from her green armor and bear sigil. He dashed towards her and in one swift motion, he dealt the raiders a blow that sent their weapons flying. He was a demon incarnate as he kept slashing through their defenses and kept hammering their shields with his sheer brute strength till he knocked one down and stabbed through his neck, while the Mormont lass crushed the other's chest with her mace.

She gave him a look of surprise and slight gratitude but spared him no words as she moved readily to her next foe. He had no time to notice her as enemies kept rushing his way and he unleashed his years of practice and his superhuman strength as he broke through with his deadly glaive that was washed in the ironborn's blood.

It took them three hours to cleanse the Island and eliminate all the invaders. As soon as the battle sounds around Sirius waned he moved with haste towards the inn. He heaved a sigh of relief as he found Missandei hiding safely where he left her. He comforted her trembling body with a strong hug and stayed with her for the next couple of hours. All the noise died down as they secured the whole island, freed the captives who were mostly taken as thralls and saltwives.

Later, the same girl came to the inn in an entourage of large men with axes and maces surrounding her. Sirius liked the Mormont girls, they were ferocious as well as beautiful, unlike their mother. He liked little Lyanna from the show, she was his second-best favorite after Arya Stark. Unfortunately, he knows both are not born yet. By her age the girl should probably be either Dacey or Alysane, both are renowned for their courage. Yet only Dacey is known to be such a beauty.

He looked carefully at the girl and noticed her silky black hair flowing freely on her shoulders like a river of black water, her brilliant onyx eyes that emitted a mystic charm that was hard to ignore. She stood at 6 feet and looked tall and slender, yet she had a budding feminine body that was hard to neglect. She approached him and put her hand on her shoulder shouting loudly "House Mormont will remember your stand with us, great white warrior. We may not be a large House on a barren island but we are a proud one, and we will remember your stand." Her men echoed loudly by pumping their axes against their armor making a loud clanking noise.

Sirius smiled slightly "Lady Mormont, I was merely protecting myself and my companion" He proclaimed pointing at Missandei, "We were bypassing your lands and we liked your island quite a bit so we rested here for a few weeks, one could not imagine that the ironborn raiders reached this far north. I hope the losses were not too much, we have been treated with nothing but hospitality by the islanders here."

"Again thank you brave warrior, you reaped a lot of their men and we could repel them with ease this time. Fortunately, our losses were not great and no one was enslaved. You can call me Dacey. My Uncle Lord Mormont invites you to the victory feast in our keep, please grace us with your presence, of course, your little companion can join us. We Northmen always remember kindness."

"Please my lady, dispense the formalities, I am but a vagrant sellsword. You can call me Geralt or White Wolf as some call me. I am also a Northman by birth, my mother was a woman from Lys, hence the Valyrian features, yet my blood is of a true Northman. Although we left the north for more than a hundred years, yet as my father always said, The North Remembers. It will be an honor to dine at your table."

I could hear a murmur amongst her men as one older bulky man asked hesitantly, "Pardon my intrusion, but are you really Geralt, the White Wolf? The one who comes from the northern free company Wolf Pack?"

Sirius chuckled inwardly applauding "Good job my boy Alaric, your rumors could even reach the farthest North." He replied simply, "In the flesh." This was followed by a loud gasp from a couple of men among the crowd.

Dacey asked the man, "Uncle Jarel, do you know him?"

"Yes, my lady he is world renown as one of the strongest warriors in the world, he is not a man made for tourneys and jousting, but on the battlefield, he is the best killer ever. They say he crushed a slave as big as The Mountain in a battle in the Disputed Lands in Essos with but a swing of his glaive. In close encounters, he is even more of a nightmare as his curved sword and shield make him an unkillable foe. They say he starts the battle as a white shiny wolf and ends it a bloody red wolf from all the blood he spills in the battle." he talked zealously like he is mentioning a legendary hero of the Age of Heroes.

He took a deep breath and continued hurriedly, "You may not know my lady, but he was renowned recently after he disbanded the Wolf Pack and disappeared recently."

Sirius waves his hands helplessly, "Please my lady, these are but exaggerated rumors from the old days, now I am nothing but a retired vagabond who wished to roam my long estranged homeland."

The man ignored my hint at cutting off the conversation as he continued, "My lady, he is from a pure northern lineage just as their whole company since its founding by the followers of the Old Man of the North, Lord Cregan Stark. They followed him to King's Landing to wage war against the Lannisters, the Tyrells, and the Baratheons for assassinating King Aegon II. The whole realm sued for peace and to let bygones be bygones, yet in one thing, Lord Stark would not be dissuaded: the betrayers and poisoners of King Aegon II must pay the price. To kill a cruel and unjust king in lawful battle was one thing. But foul murder, and the use of poison, was a betrayal against the very gods who had anointed him."

He noticed Dacey was intrigued by his recount so he kept going, "Lord Cregan served as Hand of the King for a single day, presiding over the trials and executions of the conspirators. Undoubtedly, he carried out the executions himself. He returned to Winterfell after placing King Aegon III on the Iron Throne, yet some of his followers never returned to the North. They went east and established a free company called Wolf Pack, as a tribute to their lord's sigil. Their commander always had Wolf in his name, the last of which is Geralt the White Wolf."

Dacey was satisfied with his recount and turned to Sirius waving generously, "Well then Commander Geralt, please let us not make my uncle wait."

Sirius heaved a sigh of relief inwardly at the overwhelming admiration of these men and walked with her, "Missandei come with me. Lade Mormont please lead the way."

Mormont Keep on Bear Island is the perfect visual representation of the struggle of living so isolated from the rest of the Seven Kingdoms. Built mostly out of wood as well as cut into a hill, their stronghold is very primitive compared to other keeps, mostly because of the lack of resources on the island. They entered the keep and found many people gathered at a long table layered with food and ale. At the front seat, he saw Lord Mormont. Jorah wore wool and leather, with his dark green tunic displaying the standing black bear of House Mormont. He strapped his famous Valyrian Sword, Longclaw, to his waist and only its bear shaped pommel was seen.

He opened his arms widely and grinned saying, "Welcome great warrior, please join our feast.
