2 Victors Childhood

After settling his concerns and knowing the chaos of Westeros was still at least 11 years away, Victor focused back on his extremely fulfilling family life.

As he got older and a lot stronger at a very fast pace, he was allowed to leave the manor castle and slowly explore the estate. Lys, and especially Canahs, was truly magnificent and probably the best place to start in any part of Westeros or Essos. No Kings to judge your life and a beautiful coastline with climate like Spain or Italy.

The estate of the Di Natale family was extremely large and near impossible to completely explore with the small body of a child, even for a physically gifted childlike Victor. He focused his attention on the place that gave him the most peace of mind, to the extreme dislike of his mother and grandmother and the absolute love of his father and grandfather: The training ground.

As a military family the Di Natale family is training his own armed forces all year round. Part of those armed forces are the regular family soldiers, part are slaves. Yes, slaves. One of the main sources of income is selling war slaves, similar to Unsullied. But the Di Natale family is not training elites like Unsullied, instead they are buying all kind of physically strong slaves from the family of Lohar. Most of those slaves go through the hand of the slave owners of Astapor.

The 30-Day training of physically strong slaves makes them way less powerful than Unsullied, but more than powerful enough for mercenary operations. Many mercenary companies buy those trained slaves at high prices and offer them freedom if they survive a couple of missions. Just like this an industrial chain formed around the slaves' traders of Astapor and Lys as well as the Di Natale family. With his industrial chain around the Di Natale family not only improved their military training abilities but also earned a lot of money and good will from the many mercenary companies of Essos. Being the main military family of Lys and an important partner of nearly every mercenary team of Essos really makes the Di Natale family nearly untouchable. Combine this situation with the chaos of Westeros in the next thirty years and Victor is sure of his own as well as his family's safety.

Victor was fascinated by the military training of the Di Natale family and wanted to participate. At first this wish was completely ignored by the male members of the family and lead to a severe beating by his mother. By the way, this was the first time he saw his gentle and refined mother becoming very angry. He now seemed to understand how their parents got along so well.

But over the next couple of months, he slowly changed the perception of his family as he came up with many new ideas that seemed possible. As Victor grew older, he slowly felt his rather abnormal talents. His body seemed to be physically extremely gifted, which surprised and elated him and his father, as this was first and foremost a world of combat, combat in the edge of cold weapons at that. But what way more important to him, at least during his childhood, was his improved brain capacity, which let to him effortlessly remembering his memories and being extremely quick-witted in the present.

As such he used a lot of memories of the history lessons during his school years, which proved the german school systems correct, at least once during his lifetime. The helpful memories belonged to the time in which the Roman Empire was the topic.

All in all, the knowledge about the Roman army and its glorious history as one of the peak conquerors of the human world proves to be tremendously helpful to the Di Natale family in further improving their military training of their private soldiers as well as their mercenaries.
