10 New Drug - Sildenafil

In March 274 AC Victor finally completed his first drug. As a well-educated chemist and with all the knowledge of his previous life one would suspect it would be rather easy to replicate famous drugs. You could not be farther from the truth. Victors' education in chemistry needed industrial development as its basis. How to synthesize certain components without the needed machinery? Victor had to go back to the production methods of the early 19th century of his previous life. He used his knowledge about biology in Westeros and Essos to combine certain type of active ingredients to produce a tablet, which in essence increased the libido of men for a period. He called this tablet "Sildenafil", to honor his memory about the drug of his previous life. But be clear that you simple cannot produce the original Sildenafil without modern production equipment and only a bunch of feudal alchemists. The Sildenafil of Lys will go by the commercial name of "Blessing of Lys". 

As the counterpart to the "Tears of Lys", the deadly poison, every man on land and ocean should soon seek after the blessed night after taking the Blessing of Lys.

After making sure the developed drug was without major health risks, thanks to the suffering of many crippled gladiators, Victor described the drug to his family. This extremely smart move resulted in him being beat up and closed into his room by his mother for a whole week. After calming the mood of the family Victor described the benefits of the drug. Not only the immense wealth, especially as part of the ruling nobles of the island of pleasure, but also in networking and interest sharing to increase the foundation of the family. 

Victor offered the Ormollen family, as the owner of Lys largest and most luxurious pleasure house, and the Sathmantes family as immediate partners. The Ormollen family is rather self-explanatory and the Sathmantes family is Victor shield to block the Rogare family, as they have been rivals since the Rogare family took the Sathmantes mint as their own.

Victor didn't want the Rogare family to dominate they city of Lys, so he must support the other families with his future business. The task of communicating with the heads of both families was still left to Grandfather Emilio, as business negotiation has never been Amando's strength. Even though Victor was smart and mature and already well known as the little genius of the Di Natale family, no major head of the family would take him seriously during a negotiation of such magnitude and he would lose the interest of the Di Natale family. As such Grandfather Emilio had to carry the burden by himself.

Victor could finally take a break from all the learning and experimenting in the alchemy guild. Honestly Victor was tired. It felt like returning to his previous life and he seriously was disgusted with himself. Why does he always return to his profession as a chemist, even in a newfound world. It was time to close the door to alchemy and chemistry for the next years. Victor told his family of his decision and announced to stop his studies of alchemy until 280 AC, nearly 6 years from now on. Neither of his family members hat any objection to his decision as nobody even expected so much work from a five-year-old child anyway.

After waking up the next day Victor was extremely relieved. Finally, he had time to just play with his little sister. The two-year-old Giulia grew up to be a lovely little girl. She looked like a small version of their mother. Silky blond hair and beautiful green eyes. The little girl really enjoyed her time with her big brother who finally seemed to notice her again. She didn't remember all the time Victor spent in front of her bed as a small baby. Her only short-term memories of her brother were characterized by his absence. Isabella was relieved as both of her children finally started to act like real siblings.

Victor didn't stop his physical practice though. His body kept improving at a fast rate and he could already duel 12–13-year-old children. Those were not any brats but his future followers and bodyguards. Every generation of the Di Natale family has loyal bodyguards. Those bodyguards are protecting the current head, and this position will be handed down to the most gifted of their biological children. Only if there is a total lack of offspring will a new guardian be selected among one of the orphans raised by the Di Natale family. They will face many tests of loyalty before becoming a true guardian of the family. 

Victors' male playmates mainly consisted of future guardians, which are being strictly trained by their fathers to be able to inherit their position in the future. His ability to dual children 7-8 years older than him, which has been brutally trained since childhood shows how insane his physical talents really are.

A few weeks later his grandfather Emilio delivered news about the cooperation regarding the Blessing of Lys. The Ormollen family was extremely excited in participating in this new opportunity that truly complimented their main business. They were willing to completely take over any marketing and sales operations and keep the production and secret recipe in the hands of the Di Natale family. The Sathmantes family was very grateful for the free business opportunity delivered to them. Emilio Di Natale hinted towards the head of the old Sathmantes family his concerns regarding the improvement of the Rogare family and hoped for his old friend to use this opportunity of a completely new product to reopen old connections and improve the family status. The Sathmantes family returned this favor by being solely responsible for the acquisitions of raw materials. 

This left the Di Natale family with being responsible for production and secrecy. Amando di Natale placed the workshop in a secluded corner of the village of Canahs. It was well protected, and the production was done by slaves only. None of those slaves would ever leave this workshop, at least not alive. 

A small workshop was enough to produce the needed amount of Sildenafil. The Blessing of Lys was meant to be a luxury product only for the richest people of Westeros and Essos. None of the normal folk would be able to even afford a single tablet. As such a new industrial chain was added to the capital of pleasure, Lys. The final allocation of shares was as followed:

45% to the Di Natale family

30% to the Ormollen family

15% to the Sathmantes

10% of the shares were left to distribute among noble families of Westeros in the future expansion, currently managed by the Di Natale family.

Over the last five years the Di Natale family grew by owning a major share of the colosseum, improving their ancestral business of training soldiers and mercenaries by adding the category of gladiators and now finally by adding the first pharmaceutical industrial chain. Now it was time to slowly digest the efforts of Victors work and stabilize the growing foundation of the family in Lys, while slowly planning expansion and investment opportunities in Westeros and Essos.
