Extraordinary Sharpness

When Randyll Tarly started to turn the sword around everybody could hear the slight vibrations in the air. Oberyn was completely focused on the blade, and he could feel the sharpness just by the vibration sounds it made. When the attack finally came, he dodged to the side avoiding the attack subconsciously. Everybody seemed surprised by this action as they just were supposed to display the quality of the sword and no real fight was intended.

Even both fighters were a little surprised, as Randyll didn't expect a dodge, while Oberyn couldn't really explain his move. Both stopped in a little awkward situation but when the Red Viper saw Victor's happy smile from the corner of his eyes, he started his own attack angrily. When the low-grade cloud sword hit full force on the high-grade cloud sword, which was in a simple defending position, something miraculous happened.

Everybody in the room could see sparks arise between the two blades and when Oberyn stopped the attack a slight crack on his sword was clearly visible. A low-grade cloud steel sword, that seemingly without any effort just destroyed a high-grade steel sword from Westeros, was already slightly damaged after just one collision. On top of that Oberyn was the one attacking while his counterpart was in a purely defensive position without using any force of his own, simply trying to hold his own position.

The presentation continued for another four rounds before the fight stopped. Oberyn dropped his sword to the ground and when the final collision between sword body and floor happened it broke completely. The top part of the sword was absolutely annihilated. A low-grade cloud steel sword could effortlessly destroy the high-grade sword of Westeros but was destroyed after five clashes with a high-grade cloud sword.

Every noble lord was looking at the high-grade cloud sword full of desire. If they could equip a small elite guard with this sword, they could cause extreme damage. But before they could imagine their happy future and the supreme protection of such a force Victor destroyed their dreams with announcing the price of high-grade cloud steel swords.

"I believe that this presentation could showcase just how sharp our high-grade swords are. I am very grateful for the participation of both House Tarly and House Martell and as I announced before the possession of both swords will now belong to them. Unfortunately, the low-grade sword is destroyed and it will return to the smithy at Redwater and be replaced by a new sword. If Lord Randyll Tarly desires, I gladly offer you an inspection by one of our blacksmith masters to guarantee a perfect condition of your sword.

Honestly, we already did many similar tests in private and there shouldn't be the slightest damage on the high-grade cloud steel sword. But this quality and sharpness of course comes with a high price. One high grade sword will be sold for 2000 golden dragons and at least 75% of this price must be paid with resources. Those swords will only be sold to members of the Athenaeum club, just like Penicillin. Any sword of higher grade will only be auctioned at this club on the island of Dustspear, near the mainland of Dorne, while the yearly auction of our club is held."

Those couple of announcements led to much discussion and noise in the crowd. The price was truly very high for most nobles, but some were determined to buy at least one sword for either themselves or their heir. But when they realized that they first had to join the private club their desire for this membership rose exponentially as everybody wanted to gain access to high grade weapons and medicine.

"House Di Natale and the other shareholders of the club will send private invites to noble families we would like to join the club. The first number of invites will be relatively small. Each further invite needs at least 5 club members to vouch for a new member and the founding members always have a veto right. But once you join the private club you should be very careful who you vouch for, because any bad behavior of a person you vouched for will always fall back on you, on way or another."

Victor already gave some information about the Athenaeum club and how you can join it. But he didn't quite announce which families would be included in the first round of invitations. Before any questions could arise two servants lifted the red fabric over another glass box.

This time you could see a short dagger, with roughly the same pattern as the low-grade sword. Everybody immediately guessed the pattern of the next presentation. Victors continued to showcase different weapons like daggers, spears, halberds, axes and even war hammers.

Everyone that participated could find something they really liked, and they were already thinking about how to transport the needed materials for the purchase to Redwater. The Nahohr family was already secretly laughing of happiness as their shipping business would rise in a straight line and every other noble family of Lys was calculating in their mind how to approach the Di Natale family and trade for some of those well needed resources.

The advantage of the Di Natale family and their status in between the noble families of Lys was constantly increasing and even the Rogare family couldn't really do anything against it, even if they didn't like the development. For the next few hours everybody was testing the weapons in the showroom and argued about the favorite weapon.

But only low-grade weapons were available for testing and the high-grade weapons were only for display. Only Randyll Tarly ever touched and used a high-grade cloud steel weapon, and everybody stared at the sword enviously. But the real highlight of today's presentation came only at the end, as Victor liked to save the best for the closing of the show.
