The Red Sands of Dorne

The choking silence enveloped the area, only the sound of blowing winds could be heard, nothing else. Ser Oswell's body bled heavily as his blood tainted the sands of Dorne, and the screech of the She-Wolf still echoes throughout the sky.

The Dragon prince flinched as Morian aimed the thing in his hand at him, the white smoke was still rising from that thing, and the barrel was still warm.

Morian pulled the hammer of the thing, readying to shoot once again.

"Give up, Rhaegar." spoke Morian calmly, not caring about the tense atmosphere around him. "One man is enough."

"If I give up, what will you do to me, to us?" asked Rhaegar, swallowing his saliva carefully.

"Bring you to Dorne." answered Morian.

"And then?"

"I shall talk no more," he continued.

Rhaegar clenched his fist. "Can you at least make Lyanna return to her family?"

"I cannot do that." said Morian flatly, and he could hear the She-Wolf sobbing at the staircase. "She chose her path, she will bear the consequences."

Rhaegar's violet eyes then stared at the three people in front of him, he then closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and dropped his sword.

He raised his hand, and said, "I could only ask that you treat her nicely while we're in your possession."

Morian nodded. "Ser Arthur, tie Rhaegar up, I'll deal with Lyanna."

Ser Arthur nodded weakly, and he walked towards a rope nearby, before bringing him to the Dragon prince.

As he tied the hand of the prince, he spoke to him. "I- Forgive me, my prince…"

"It's alright, friend." smiled Rhaegar. "It was me who was a fool, I had asked you to attack your own kin, and I know you could never do that."

Arthur nodded gratefully, and continued to tie the Dragon Prince.

Meanwhile, Morian and Ashara tend to Lyanna. "I'll get you some proper clothing." said Ashara to the dishevelled Lyanna, she left, leaving Morian and the she-wolf alone.

Lyanna then looked up, and her eyes met Morian's clear blue eyes. "Is this what you warned me about?"

Morian didn't answer her, instead, he spoke about another matter. "My lady, sometimes, you need to sacrifice your happiness for the good of many. It is a duty of nobles like us, we live in relative ease, while smallfolk do the hard work for us, it is wrong for us to be selfish at a troubled time like this."

"But Robert, he's–"

"Vile? A manwhore? Cannot keep his hands to himself?" continued Morian. "Everybody knows it my lady, but you are only betrothed, your family could annul it at any time, this is not the way. Know that I sympathise with you, Lady Stark, but you have chosen your path, and you will face the consequences."

The She-Wolf didn't say anything, instead, she just mourned, looking at the swirling sand beneath the tower.

"I will not tie you down, lady Stark." continued Morian. "But you will come with us to Sunspear, but if you try to run, I will not hesitate to take your life, even if it means risking the contempt of northmen."

"I will not run, I promise Prince Morian." spoke Lyanna softly. "You're right, no more running, I will face the consequences, at this point, I have forsaken my family… my father… Brandon… Gods…"

Ashara then came with her spare clothing, she took a glance at Morian, she shot him a soft smile, which he shot back, and Morian left, leaving Lyanna with Ashara.

Morian then saw the body of Ser Oswell, and sighed. He looked at Arthur, who had finished his job tying Rhaegar up.

"Ser Arthur, help me bury Ser Oswell's body."

Arthur's face darkened at the mention of Ser Oswell, he was his brother-in-arms, yet he forsake him.

"Do not be guilty about what you've done today, Ser." comforted Morian. "We make hard decisions sometimes, and this is just one of them."

Arthur nodded weakly, he and Morian then dug up a ditch. They took the armour and the cloak of ser Oswell, they buried the body, covered it with sand and dirt, and they put his cloak and armour on top of his grave, before finally stabbing his sword, as a marker.

Morian then looked at Ashara, and asked her. "Are you done?"

Ashara smiled softly, and nodded.

Morian hummed, and turned to Arthur once more. "How many horses have you got, Ser?"

"Including Ser Oswell's and the prince, three."

"Then Ashara will ride with me, the other two are for the prince and Lady Stark, you will watch both of them."

Arthur nodded, and he prepared the horses for departure. Morian then walked towards Ashara, who was sitting tiredly on the stairs.

"Are you alright?" questioned Morian in worry.

"Just the baby…" smiled Ashara. "Feels heavier by the day."

Morian sighed. "I told you to not follow me… yet you did not listen."

"At least I rode with you once again, My Prince." said Ashara leaning on his shoulder. "I've missed riding with you."

"I know… I've missed it too… but, those times are over… we have duties." spoke Morian sadly.

"Unfortunately…"

Arthur then walked up to them. "My Prince, Ashara, the horses are ready."

Morian nodded. Both of them then stood up. Arthur brought the two prisoners to the horses they were assigned, and finally, they rode towards Sunspear, leaving the Red sands of Dorne behind.
