24 Magical Training (Part 2)

[POV AQUILES VIRIDIUM – YEAR 271]

As soon as the fireball appeared in Aquiles' hand, the light it cast allowed him to see that there was indeed a Son of the Forest there, but it didn't look the same, while the Son of the Forest who defeated him looked like a boy, this one looked more like a girl dressed in a dress of moss and leaves.

Upon noticing Aquiles' scared and cautious expression, the girl raised her hands in a sign of surrender and spoke in a calm and soothing tone: "Calm down, human. I'm not here to harm you. I've been sent here by my mother to assist you in your training!"

Aquiles couldn't believe her words and questioned: "What are you talking about? I don't even know you or your mother. Why would she want to help me?"

"My brother Lirael told our mother about your fight against him and everything else, and my mother decided that if God had sent someone to save our world, it would be wise to help him!" The girl exclaimed, still with her hands up in surrender and completely still.

"If she's like that boy from before, she could have killed me already if she wanted to. And it's not like I'm in a position to deny any help!" Aquiles thought and then quickly sheathed his sword and stored it on his left side of the waist, but kept the fireball in hand to continue lighting up the area, and also as a precaution. "Are you really going to help me?" Aquiles questioned one last time.

"Sure, now, can I lower my hands?" Asked the girl as she gave a reassuring smile towards Aquiles.

"Be my guest, my name is Aquiles. And yours?" Asked Aquiles as the girl approached, already with her hands down.

"Lunara, but you can call me Luna!" Replied the girl as she approached.

"When do we start, Luna?" Aquiles eagerly asked.

"First, I need to know one thing, my mother ordered me to find out if you have any estimate of when the Night King will escape through the Wall." Luna explained as she made a movement with her left hand, and two stone benches emerged from the ground just in front of her. She then sat on one and gestured with her hand for Aquiles to sit on the other.

Aquiles sat across from her and answered directly without beating around the bush: "From the vision that God showed me, the Night King will attack the Wall in 40 years."

Luna absorbed Aquiles' words maintaining her serious expression, indicating the seriousness of the situation. "Forty years..." She murmured to herself as she lightly rubbed her temples. After a few seconds, she said, "That's good, it means we have time to prepare!"

"Now that you know when the attack will occur, can we begin my training?" Aquiles asked in a humble and respectful tone, but also slightly anxious.

Luna smiled faintly, appreciating Aquiles' willingness, and then reached out her hands, saying, "Give me your hand, let me examine your body." Although he didn't know what she wanted by examining his body and was somewhat suspicious, Aquiles still did as Luna had requested and held her hand.

As Luna held Aquiles' hand, she closed her eyes and began to channel mana into his body, examining every inch of Aquiles' body. Despite feeling somewhat uncomfortable as he felt the energy probing his body, Aquiles remained calm and did not retract his hand.

Luna wasn't just examining Aquiles' body; she was also probing his soul for his memories, or at least the memories she could access. "Why can I only access this vision? Why can't I see the rest?" Luna mentally queried to herself. The only memory she had managed to see was the part where God showed Aquiles the Night King's army attacking the Wall.

After some time trying to force her way into Aquiles' memories, Luna realized that she wouldn't be able to invade them. Therefore, she gave up and focused on examining Aquiles' body with her mana. "Incredible, your mana core is completely different from all others; it's covered in runes!" Luna tried to decipher the runes, but all she could do was see them, unable to comprehend their meanings. "Even your mana channels are insane; they're completely pure, with no impurities hindering mana circulation. This is the first time I've seen mana channels so perfect!" Luna mentally noted with total admiration and a hint of envy after finishing examining Aquiles' soul.

"Very well." Luna spoke after opening her eyes. Then, she placed a hand under her dress while asking, "You can read our language, right?" Aquiles nodded, and Luna retrieved a large green book from within her dress, but with no title written on it.

"Take it..." She said as she stretched out her hand holding the book towards Aquiles, who promptly took the book and opened it. Examining the words, Aquiles quickly flipped through the pages, and when he reached the fifteenth page, he realized the item's invaluable worth, then turned to Luna and thanked her: "Thank you!"

"It's not a gift, it's a loan! Return it to me when you finish learning, this book teaches the basic concepts of Elemental Magic of my people along with some basic spells, this will speed up your learning. Tomorrow morning we will start your training, but now I must go, I need to take the information you gave me to my mother!" Luna said, and then she got up and walked towards the forest until she disappeared.

...

[POV LUNARA]

"And to think that the Night King will indeed escape." Luna thought as she flew through the skies in her form of a Golden Giant Eagle. Luna had not been able to see Aquiles' memories thanks to the runes adorning his soul, and she had only been able to see that part of the dream because God had allowed it. With his powers, he had already predicted that Aquiles and Luna would meet in the future, so he left that dream open for her to see.

Luna invaded Aquiles' mind because she had to make sure he wasn't lying. Now that she had seen the part of the dream that God had left, she saw that he hadn't lied and also saw God's form. "That being of light... Is he God?" She wondered to herself as she flew through the skies. The form of light conveyed an unprecedented peace and awe to her when she looked at him, and for a moment it seemed like the being of light could see her, but she judged it to be just a coincidence. "I'll show it to mother, she must know."

Descending in front of the Represeiro, Luna returned to her human form, placed her left hand on the face of the Represeiro, and began to use her magic to communicate with her mother. "Mother..." Luna called telepathically and then waited.

"Luna, have you extracted his memory as I asked?" The voice spoke directly into her mind with an impatient tone.

"Only partially... I used my magic to scan the memories of the human, but I couldn't access all of it. I could only access a part, and that part showed me a vision of the Night King attacking the Wall, and it will happen in exactly 40 years. I don't think the Night's Watch stands any chance against the Night King. He has had over 8,000 years to build his army, and his army numbers in the millions!" Luna began to explain as she started to send Aquiles' dream memories so that her mother could see them too.

"Oh Gods... We will never be able to defeat something like this. His army is over 4 times larger than what was reported by the ancestors 8,000 years ago!" Her mother's voice was terrified as she watched the vision unfold before her. "And how does he have that thing?" She questioned, referring to the enormous Wyvern.

"Luna, go back and teach the boy everything we know about Elemental Magic. Additionally, teach him everything else we know about runes, seals, and everything else. If God sent him, he is our best chance of surviving. Meanwhile, I will send your siblings to reinforce the spells of the Wall and warn the men of the Night's Watch. They must start preparing. Also, we will need obsidian, and the more, the better!" After the older Daughter of the Forest commanded, Luna said her goodbyes and departed. She needed to prepare Aquiles for the upcoming battle.
