2 Galladon Tarth (2)

The whole process of confessing his abilities was quite long and tiring for everybody involved. Shortly after being very emotional Erina left her husband and oldest son alone in the most well protected study of House Tarth in Evenfall Hall. It is located on the western coast of the island of Tarth along Shipbreaker Bay.

After a few minutes of silence between the current and future leader of the family, Selwyn asked for further details about Galladon's abilities and the distribution of the ten spots he had for each aura.

After making the decision to no longer keep some of his secrets, the ten-year-old boy willingly explained how his auras worked and who currently profited from them. He further made some concessions to his father to allow him some future spots, if he could absolutely guarantee the loyalty of any personal, he wanted to involve in any of his auras.

As a current lord of a large noble household Selwyn was very clear how important his son's abilities truly were. He needed to keep them extremely confidential for as long as possible. At least until Galladon was an adult and could protect himself.

Even Robert Baratheon would probably not be able to resist the temptation of being involved in his son's auras and have full control over future spots within the four available auras. Both father and son therefore concluded that Galladon would not be able to leave the island of Tarth until he was eighteen years of age. This led to the current heir of Tarth being completely unknown, even a little mysterious, in the next ten years.

Only important servants and members of House Tarth could get into contact with Galladon and therefore prove that the youngest male heir of the family had no physical problems. Even marriage proposal from noble houses of Westeros were completely ignored, to the point of nearly angering some families that offered their noble daughters to the sole male heir of House Tarth.

It was later announced that Galladon Tarth would leave the island when he turned eighteen to participate in the yearly tournament in King's Landing. After achieving results in this tournament, he would travel the seven kingdoms and choose his future wife by himself.

Returning to the night Selwyn learned about the distribution of the at that time ten spots of the four different auras. As a lord and husband, he was very pleased when he learned that he and his wife were fully included in all four auras. He finally realized why the management of Tarth seemingly didn't take too much toll on him and he was improving as a noble lord by leaps and bounds in recent years. This knowledge didn't dampen his spirit, but he was even more proud of his oldest and only son.

As a father he was extremely grateful that all his three daughters were included in the aura of health, which according to his son saved them from early death. After giving his son a grateful smile and encouraging him to keep taking care of his little sisters in the future, he finally turned back into the Lord of Tarth.

Because in his opinion his son wasted extremely important aura spots on animals. He literally included the three pets he received during his birthdays in the last ten years into his arrangement of spots. Grey, a wolf cub, was first included, while an eaglet and a foal, called Silver and Red respectively, followed in between the birth of his daughters.

The only places he was grateful for where the positions of some of Galladon's followers. They were specially selected by Selwyn himself and were the oldest sons of some of his closest retainers, who would always be loyal and devoted to House Tarth. They shared weal and woe with House Tarth for many generations.

He included four followers, called Armin, Gustav, Patrik, and Emil. Galladon used up all his spots every year, except for the health spot three years ago, because he needed to save this option for when his twin sisters were born two years ago. If he didn't use his aura immediately after birth, one of the sisters might have died.

He only used the aura of intelligence and health for his two youngest twin sisters, because after having a difficult pregnancy and birth, even the usage of his own aura would probably not have turned his two sisters into capable warriors, thus wasting two precious opportunities to create a talent for House Tarth. Truthfully, he didn't want three knight sisters in House Tarth. No matter how special Brienne seemed in the television series of his previous life, ultimately the nobles of Westeros would only joke about a female knight for decades to come.

There was a real possibility Brienne would never really turn into the same woman he remembered from his previous life, obsessed with swordsmanship and the way of knights, simply because her life was completely different and she was by Erina's side from the very beginning, being educated as a future noble lady.

But Galladon didn't want to deprive her of the possibility to become one of the most famous female knights of their generation. Having one sister becoming proficient in martial arts and gaining a reputation in the future might bring some benefits to House Tarth, but having three martial daughters would only bring shame to them. Not including them was for the best of everybody.

His father Selwyn had no problem with the aura spots related to his three daughters but wanted to force his son to cancel the twelve spots belonging to the three animals, because in his eyes they were completely wasted. Galladon vehemently refused this decision, because when he first came into this world the partnership and bound with those few animals saved him from depression.

They were raised and fed by himself since they were small cubs and over the years grew extremely attached to him.

If anybody in the world would betray him in the future, only those three little guys would stay by his side until the bitter end.
