92 Chapter 92: Warning Jon and Brandon

Here's today's first chapter. I wanted to tell you that today I will upload three chapters today. I had a mid-term exam yesterday and I did very well. I was happy and decided to write another chapter today.

"Lord Arryn, I want you to get prepared. A war might happen at any moment." Said Edward to Jon, shocking him in the process. The rest behaved the same as this was not a laughing matter. If it was only a matter of skirmish between two houses, Edward would not have gathered them here. Edward must mean that it would be a great war.

"Explain, Edward." Said Arryn as he was the only one that could talk to Edward like that. He was Edward's foster father, after all.

"Did not anyone notice the wide range of this tourney? Lord Whent could not afford to do something like that. Even with Storm's End's new wealth, I could only make it as you have seen. How could Lord Whent go as far as my tourney and exceed it?" Said Edward stating the obvious. How could no one notice such an important detail? Edward always wondered. Although some maesters doubted it, the rest of the Lords did not even find anything wrong.

Everyone began to bonder the words that Edward had just said. Yeah, Edward was right. How could Lord Whent hold this massive tourney? No lord would spend all his house's gold dragons to hold a tourney.

"Do you that someone is backing him?" Asked Lord Arryn as he was wise enough to get what Edward meant.

"Guess who?" Asked Edward while nodding his head to Jon.

After some thinking, the rest could not come up with someone willing to spend this many gold dragons to support another's tourney.

"Why do you think the king come to this tourney although he did not leave the Red Keep for years?" Asked Edward as he looked at the rest. How could they not see the obvious? Would the king come all the way from King's Landing to Harrenhal without any reason?

"Do you mean the Targaryens had something to do with this tourney?" Asked Brandon, who was listening from the start without saying anything.

"Prince Rhaegar is the one who supported Lord Whent to hold this tourney. He wanted to gather the lords of Westeros to ask them for their support. He wanted to take the King's place." Said Edward shocking the rest of them to the core. It was not a small matter. They could get accused of treason if they joined Rhaegar.

"What are you planning to do, Edward?" Asked Arryn as he knew that Edward would have made some moves in the dark if he knew such information.

"If a war started, I plan to separate Stormsland from the rest of the seven kingdoms. We all have suffered enough, and I don't plan to stay under the MadKing or our beloved prince's rule. I am not planning to let them take my people's hard-earned work to spend it on themselves." Said Edward shocking the rest even more. He was planning to rebel against the Iron Throne. Did Edward get mad or something? Why did he want to do something like that in the first place?

"Why are you telling us something like that?" Asked Arryn as he knew Edward would not tell them something like that without any reason.

"I only wanted you to prepare yourself. If my prediction is right, the rest of the seven kingdoms would also join the war. It would get fucken nasty after that." Said Edward while faking all that. Neither Rhaegar would try to take the king's place, nor would Aerys fight Rhaegar.

Jon and the others thought about what Edward had just said. What Edward said was the truth, after all. They might get complicated in the process, so it was better to prepare themselves for the upcoming unrest.

As for Jon, he looked at Edward with a serious expression. He knew that Edward was ambitious and would achieve something great in the future, but he did not imagine that it would be to this degree. Edward's word about separating Stormsland from the rest of the seven kingdoms was a dangerous move that might turn the rest of the lords against him.

"You sure you are doing this, Edward? You might lose your head if anything went wrong." Said Jon as he wanted to warn Edward about his ambition. He had seen what Edward had done for Stormsland, and he thought that Edward should be content with that.

"I made my preparations long ago. I am doing this even if there were no disputes between Rhaegar and his father. There must be a change in the civilization so men can develop. The Targaryen ruled long enough." Said Edward with some wisdom in his words. That was part of his true feeling as he always thought that change brought talent with it.

Jon could only nod his head after hearing what Edward said. Jon was a kind and humble man, so he would never think of going against the Targaryens for his ambition. So as long as no one got hurt, Jon would not break his oath and act as their warden of the east.

Brandon was the one who had a little ambition. He did not like the fact that his ancestor bent the knee to the Targaryens back then.

After Brandon heard what Edward had said, he started to have different ideas in his head. He thought after he married the Tully girl, he could use this chance to make the north independent. He could use the Tully to fight his war if the Targaryen decided to fight against him. And with Edward to the south and Jon Arryn to the East, they could defeat the Targaryens.

After the long discussion all night, Everyone left Edward's tent. Jon left with a heavy heart as he was afraid for his close ones' lives. His heir and nephew, Elbert, was a squire for Brandon Stark. He also could get killed if something happened.

Edward looked at every one's back after leaving the tent. He had done what he could, and If they wanted to save themselves, they had to help themselves. Although he doubted that they could do anything as he had planned vicious plans to fan everyone's hatred against the Targaryen. Edward had to put it to use after the tournament.

The days passed, and the tourney finally started. Edward did not participate as he did not see any reason for fighting by himself anymore. And although Arthur tried to provoke him to make him participate, Edward ridiculed him that he did not want to beat weaklings anymore.

Since Edward's warning, Lyanna started to act a little differently. Although she liked Rhaegar's song, she did not cry like the original. She did not develop any feeling for Rhaegar at the moment, and Edward doubted that Rhaegar would have the ability to win her heart in this timeline. But since Rhaegar was crazy about achieving the prophecy, Edward thought that Rhaegar would do anything to achieve what he wanted, even if that meant that he would kidnap Lyanna for real. Although Rhaegar seemed like the loving and charming prince in the show, Edward knew that there were many beautiful girls other than Lyanna, so why would Rhaegar only choose her? Plus, he knew that doing something like that would start a war, but he still did it.

Don't tell me that Rhaegar did all that for love. The man was about to kick his father down from the throne, but he suddenly changed his mind for love. What a joke!!!
