Chapter 90: Kissing Lyanna

A/N: Hey guys,

Here's today's first chapter. Both sides might not like this scene but I did it for two reasons explained in the next and future chapters. Due to this, Lyanna would never have a relationship with Rhaegar, and by this many things would happen.

Lyanna looked at Edward's face trying to see what he wanted from her. Edward talked with Lyanna alone multiple times, but this time, he was serious. Lyanna could only nod her head after seeing that Edward would not accept a no for an answer.

After walking for some minutes, they were finally able to see the Stark's tent with the Dire Wolf sigil on it. Edward wanted to discuss some matters with Brandon and Ned anyway, but this talk would have to wait till they found Lord Arryn.

When they entered the tent, Edward could see the three Stark boys there. Brandon was teasing Benjen while Ned was trying to stop him. Edward always found that the quiet wolf, Ned, impressive, and his admirable personality was not fit for this era. Ned was always acting as an honorable man for his age, not like the womanizer Brandon. Although he found Ned a good man, Edward found Brandon's personality more to his liking.

When the three brothers saw their sister coming with Edward and the injured Howland Reed, they came closer to greet Edward and ask about what had happened to their bannerman.

"It is great to see you again, Edward. It had been two years since I've last seen you." Said the always cheerful Brandon with a smile as he came closer to Edward. The two's relationship was good, and Edward did not mind taking Brandon as his brother. But Since Brandon had to die, Edward tried not to waste his time investing in this relationship.

"Edward." Said the quiet Ned as he nodded his head as a form of greeting while Brandon did the same.

"How have you been?" Said Edward as he greeted the rest of the Starks.

"What happened to him, Lyanna?" Said Ned as he looked at his sister and asked about what happened to Howland Reed.

"A three squires from the Frey's bullied him." Said Lyanna as she tried to explain the situation that Howland had been through while telling the maid to treat him.

"Howland, I can find you a horse and an armor to avenge yourself in the tourney." Said Brandon as he got angry after hearing what Lyanna said.

How dare those squires do something like that to a bannerman under the Stark? They had to fucken teach them a lesson so that they would never dare to do something like that again.

"There is no need for that." Said Lyanna as she was looking at Edward while saying that.

"What do you mean, Lyanna?" Asked the slow-witted Ned.

"Edward had already punished them and broke the leg of one of them. I think they would never dare show their faces again for the rest of the tourney." Said Lyanna as she explained to her brothers what had happened.

When Brandon heard that Edward was about to break the other's legs but got stopped by Lyanna, he got a little angry at her. He did not see anything wrong with what Edward had done, but he supported it instead.

Ned shook his head a little as he knew his friend's personality. He knew that Edward only stopped because that was not his business, and if the ones involved in this did not wish to punish the squires, he would not do anything. If Edward was the one involved in this situation, Ned knew that Edward would not stop at just breaking their legs, and he might even kill the three squires.

"I am grateful for you, Edward." Said Brandon while bowing his head a little as he owed Edward a favor at the moment. Edward helped them, but his sister was the one to blame him. Brandon did not know where to hide his face.

"Don't take it to heart, Brandon." Said Edward with a smile. That was the reason he liked Brandon's personality. Although it was not like Edward's, it was a carefree one.

"Now that I greeted you all, I would take my leave. Brandon, I want to have a talk with you after the feast. After we meet Lord Arryn, we would have an important matter to discuss. You are welcome to be there, Ned." Said Edward with a smile. He then signaled Lyanna to follow him before retreating outside of the tent.

Seeing Edward's signal, Lyanna hesitated a little before deciding to follow him to see what he wanted.

"I forget to thank Edward earlier. I will try to catch him before he reached his tent." Said Lyanna to her brother after three minutes of Edward's leaving.

Lyanna then ran outside the tent in the direction of the Baratheon's tent as she thought that Edward would go there for sure.

While she was walking, a hand caught her from behind without anyone noticing. The hand was on Lyanna's mouth, so she could not scream out loud.

Lyanna was trying to escape from the man, who was holding her, but then she heard Edward's soft voice in her ears.

"Stop it, Lyanna. I don't want anyone to hear us." Said Edward in a soft voice. What was going to happen was absolutely forbidden? He did not want to risk anyone seeing this and Ashara knowing at the end. Ashara was pregnant with their child at this moment.

Lyanna listened to Edward's words and followed him without making any noises to a place between the tents difficult for anyone to see.

When they had just stopped, and before Lyanna took a breath, Edward kissed her a long kiss. Lyanna was surprised and at once tried to push Edward away from her. She did not expect the man she respected to do something like that.

Edward, who was trying to see if he felt anything after he kissed Lyanna, was ecstatic at the moment. He did not feel anything. Although he liked Lyanna's personality, that did not mean he loved Lyanna. And here was the proof. He did not feel anything after kissing her. Yeah, he would feel a little guilt to let his friend die, but that was it.

Before Edward could snap out of his daze, he received a slap on his face from Lyanna. When Edward looked at her red face, he could see the anger and disappointment on her face. She was his brother betrothed, so how dare Edward do something like that?

Edward wanted to tell her to stop looking at him like that as she would betray Robert with Rhaegar soon. So how could she blame him? Although no one could call it betrayal as the two were not married, Edward considered it this way.
