30 Chapter 29

Old Yonas eyes constricted when heard the name of the ship from Auron's mouth.

The moment the name of the ship was declared, a shimmering glow sipped into the sail and blood red letters slowly appeared that spelled S-H-A-D-O-W.

"Like the ship on your story.."

Old Yonas looked around and muttered, "Indeed this is how I imagine what it would look like. A Legendary ship that will bring terror across the sea. Who are you really, brat.?

"What's that old timer?"

"I said, who are you? Why do the gods responds to your call?"

"Well for one since you are going to be my man someday, proper introduction is a must. I am Auron Blackfyre from House Blackfyre. First of my name. As for why they respond to me, who knows? I told you I'm a charmer. Hehe--Argh!"

Old Yonas kicked his butt which stumbles Auron forward.

"Charmer my ass!"

After bickering with Old Yonas, Auron went towards the helm of the ship and fished out a pearl from his pocket. He pressed the pearl on the center of the helm where it melted and absorbed. This means he can now store the ship in his magic bottle anytime he want to.

As soon as the pearl melted, a strange feeling stirred up within him. It was a very familiar feeling like when he established a connection with Hedwig. His guessed would be the effect of the pearl. Instinctively, Auron muttered, "Raise the mainsail."

Right after he said that, ropes came to life. The mainsail rolled itself up like someone was pulling them and the role connected to it tied to the mast.

The crew on board, Old Yonas and Auron became astonished. Auron shrugged pretending not to know what was going on, even the crew didn't pursue it but Old Yonas has some suspicions.

On the other hand, Auron couldn't help but grin. This means he can still sail even without sailors on board.

When the crew had enough checking every part of the ship, they disembark together with Auron. He thank each of the crew for helping him build the ship before searching for Old Yonas. He found him in his workable sitting quite relaxed.

"Old man, thank you once again. I hope you are satisfied with your creation."

"It's OUR creation, lad. You designed the ship so you have a part in it."

"Do you still have the blueprint?"

"Yes, it is still here. Do you want it back?"

"No, it's my gift for you. It's also an evidence that you my friend build The Shadow."

"Aren't you afraid that someone might copy your ship?"

"Oh that? They can't replicate my ship. Remember, this vessel was supposed to sink but it was blessed by the gods."

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Thank you for this. I think I'm gonna have this as a family heirloom. Hehehe. I can brag infront of that decrepit old man Genon that I built The Shadow. The legend of the sea! Just thinking about it makes me feel so excited hahahaha."

"I suggest you do that as soon as possible and show the ship to him. I will be leaving Braavos tommorow so I need your help to fill in the supplies. Here take this money."

Auron tossed a large bag of gold coins to the table which startled the old man.

"I can help you with the supplies, but this is too much."

"Well, the rest was for the you and the crew. I consider you guys a friend and I can't possibly let you starve to death can I? Come on, don't be shy. I don't lack those."

"Fine! The supplies will be ready at noon so you better find your sailors soon. I suggest you buy some slaves in the market that knows how to sail but I doubt you're gonna need them. Hey lad, tell me the truth. Is The Shadow alive?"

Auron raised his brows and he started at him for a more than ten seconds before smiling.

"Perhaps!"

Old Yonas didn't bother clarifying his answer as it was more than enough to confirm his suspiscions.

Next morning

Auron woke up again with Aidana in his arms. They went out of bed to have some breakfast before talking about their forthcoming journey.

"Dear, did you already prepare your things?"

"Yes, love. I planned to just bring two servants with me to carry my things."

"Hmmm.. No I think we need a few more men. It isn't enough to bring just two servants. Who's gonna run some errands when necessary? We couldn't let just the two of them do all things, right?"

"You have a point, I will bring ten guards then."

"Bring those who you trust with your life."

"I will but is there something wrong? The way you speak surely means something."

"I did mentioned to you that I'm not traveling alone before I come to Braavos, right?"

Aidana nodded.

"We talked about them last time and before I leave Tyrosh for Braavos, the red priestess said something to me. She said I will face thousand swords along my journey but she didn't mentioned when. However, I have a nagging feeling that it'll be soon." Auron sighed.

"Well, I understand and I don't plan to stand in your way. I will follow your arrangements, my love."

"Thank you! Actually, our next journey is to go visit Pentos. I will have you stay there until I get back from my journey to Qohor. That is the last place I need to visit before going to Westeros."

"I understand, I will bring ten guards then. I won't let you worry for me. Just promise me you'll return safe."

"I promise."

--

After their breakfast, the two of them went to visit Old man Genon in the pub. Auron asked him to go with him in the afternoon to see Old Yonas in the Arsenal as it will be his last day in Braavos.

Old Genon asked what he's doing lately and Auron talked to him about it for a couple of hours. Except the ship because it's a surprise.

When noon came, they ferried their way towards the Arsenal while Aidana returned to her courtyard to get her things and her people. They agreed to rendezvous at the purple harbor.

When Old Genon and Auron arrived at the hidden shipyard, they found Old Yonas was there barking some instructions to the crew as they loaded the supplies inside the ship. The crew was about to finish too.

"Well, look who's here. How have you been doing, Genon?"

"I'm doing good, thank you. So who's ship is this, old friend?"

"The ship was his, come I urge you to look closer. Hehehe." Old Yonas pointed his chin towards Auron before he ushered Old Genon closer.

When old Genon saw the name of the ship on the sail, he gasp in surprise before turning to Auron.

"This is the ship you wanted to make? The one from your tale?"

Auron grinned and nodded.

"The legend became true, incredible! Wait a minute-- this is made of ebony wood, how does it float?"

Auron and Old Yonas both shrugged at the same time before glancing at each other. Then they burst into laughter while Old Genon was still urging them for an answer.

"Just know this, we built the legendary ship that soon will bring terror accross the sea." Old Yonas said smugly.

"Fine! fine! Keep your secrets then. You have the right to brag for now. Bring your crew to my pub later, we need a celebration for such feat."

"I won't be polite then. Did you guys hear that?!"

The crew answered him with an exciting shout.

"Go on, lad. Be safe on your journey."

"Thank you, my friend. Keep the blueprint well."

Old Yonas nodded before patting Auron's shoulder.

"Let's go, old Genon. Come aboard. I'll ferry you back to the purple harbor."

"Sure, I wanna know how it feels to ride this ship. I just hope that it won't sink."

Auron chuckled but didn't say anything.

Some of the crew stayed to help Auron get it to the harbor though he don't need it. Auron went to the helm while Old Genon was beside him.

When the ship sailed away from the shipyard, old Genon heaved a sigh of relief. He really thought the ship would sink and yet it did not.

After a few minutes later, they arrived at the purple harbor. He bid his farewell to old Genon for the last time and let the crew disembark as well. After that, Aidana arrived with her men in tow. They loaded up her things up to the ship then she introduced the ten guards and servants to Auron.

"Please to meet you, good man and goodwives. I am the captain and the owner of the ship. You also knew me by the name Storyteller and I hope we get along."

The guards and the servants were quite excited to meet him as they were his admirers. Auron didn't detect any shitty character among them so all is good and he decided that it's time to leave. While the people on board was inside in their own rooms, he commanded the Shadow to hoist the sails and the ship began to depart heading towards the narrow sea.
