1 Chapter 1

A soul was set adrift in the endless void at peace and content with the overwhelming silence and darkness of the void. as the soul drifted it couldn't help but think back on its past life, when it was still alive and drew breath and tried to find its place on an earth where everything seemed so simple but was anything but.

When it thought back on its life before the void it couldn't help but be thankful for the darkness and overwhelming silence. In the past when the soul had a body and life it was miserable and lost wondering aimlessly through life while forgetting all that made him happy and all that made him whole.

You see the reason for his 'depression' is a simple one and that was because the soul was ordinary and subpar at best and at worst it was straight trash at everything no matter the effort it put into things. This would have been fine if his family wasn't so great and extraordinary at everything they did. His father had the best and most compelling story he could ever think of and he was proud at first but as the years continued he grew to feel inferior and pathetic when he couldn't measure up to expectations.

You see expectations where so high on him because his father grew up with nothing, in a village where he had to attend the livestock, collect water from a river 5 km away from his house. His father lived a hard life of hiking to school which was 15 km from his house just over the mountains that separated his home from his school. Despite these hardships his father continued on to come top of his class but that wasn't enough for him as he was frustrated with the social norms of his nation so he then joined the freedom movement, fighting for equality and desegregation and reform for his nation. He fought in any and all forms possible from simple protests to espionage, he did all he could to fight for equality. He went on to become one of the core members in their organisation, he organised their more daring and dangerous operations propelling their movements aim even further. However, despite his achievements he remained anonymous becoming something of a shadow leader of the organisation.

After gaining and accomplishing the goals of his organisations his farther went on to graduate university top of his class and start practising law and for years he was a successful and well known lawyer. After years of practising law he became a civil servant and worked his way all the way to the top until he reached all the way to Prime Minister. That's right the souls father went from a simple village boy/ farmer to Prime Minister.

Then there was his sister, who seemed to take after their father, she was an unregistered genius not an Einstein but she could hold her own. She was top of her class in everything, seemed to get straight A's with little to no effort at all and she was unnecessarily popular even becoming Head Prefect of her school. If that wasn't good enough she was an excellent singer, unnaturally talented and admired. She became valedictorian at the end of her schooling years.

In caparison to his family, there was nothing special about him. He was neither a genius with ridiculous smarts or some rare diamond of a talent at sports, he was just ordinary. Even to his own family he was disappointment so when the chance came to find peace in the dark so to part with the world he hated so much for his short comings he welcomed it with open arms. Now here he is, in the endless darkness with only his thoughts and dreams of grandeur.

"Oh child, your life was not a hard one at all... had you waited you could have been something great." the voice boomed throughout the void, having no beginning and no end. The soul looked for the source of the voice but when it couldn't find it, it just decided to respond. There was a venomous sting to the soul's voice as it spoke, "I hate the sound of disappointment in your voice, I've heard enough of it in my life and at this point I don't actually care even if I was meant to do great things." He took a sigh before he continued just above a whisper, "I rather enjoy this peace."

A sigh was heard in the void before the voice continued, "My child… listen well, you cannot and will not continue to stay here in this place, like all souls before you and those that will come after you, you must move on and continue a life elsewhere." A visible tick mark could be seen on the soul as he replied tersely, "Send me off then."

'I just hope I can enjoy my life this time' the soul thought before he was interrupted by the voice. "Worry not child I will be sending you off to a fictional universe that you know well. Game of Thrones." The soul was about to shout out but before he could the voice of the void continued, "I'll grant you any 5 wishes you may have before sending you off and yes this is like those novels you read in your past. Now choose well child."

"Before I choose can I ask a few questions first?" the soul knew he had to be careful otherwise he could very well end up living another miserable life.

A laugh could be heard in the void as a voice soon followed, "With the way your mind works you really could have been something great but what is done is done. To answer your unasked questions then, no you can't decide when, where or to whom you are born to. Yes that does mean that anything is possible so be prepared. It's always more fun not knowing and having to play things by ear, don't you think."

'Fuck'
