Game of Thrones: A second chance.

The story of a simple Lycan, lucky enough to get a second chance at a new life, going through the world unimpeded and trying his best at living his life as he goes. And with how his old life used to be, he didn't plan to waste it. On my first try at writing, I will try my best, but as English is not my first language, I hope you enjoy this story for what it is. If you enjoy, show your support. Or have a comment on how I could get better at writing. I would appreciate it. -- disclaimer -- I do not own Game of Thrones or any related information. I also do this for the fun of it, so go easy on me if the update rate of the novel is not constant sometimes. Covert art comes from the net, I don't own it, just thought it looked cool. Also trying to develop the story as best as I can. There will be a big backstory at the start. But I hope you can enjoy it. And one last thing, ill try to update 3 or 4 times a week.

Chapter 26: Talks.

[General View]

[In the Flatlands]

After the Wedding, Gendry and Myrcella started their trip to Westeros. And without them, the atmosphere in the Pack was a little less lively.

Daenerys was riding with the rest of the pack. And until now, not being accustomed to riding for such extended periods. She was struggling but unexpectedly, having spent almost a week in their mists, she was starting to enjoy this new life. Things were completely different from what she expected. And instead of the barbarians that knew only to kill and fuck, she found what it truly meant to be part of a Khalasar, even more as she was the Khaleesi.

Since the first day of her training with Missandei, she also learned what is expected from her. From the constant beatings and hardships in combat training. And learning the language while riding her horse, almost without rest. But for the first time in her life, she was experiencing so many new things. And unconsciously, she started to accept this new life of her. Not surrendering to it, but seeing hope in what was to come.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Tyrion told Missandei to go ahead. He thinks that now is the time to talk to the girl. The one who brings so many troubles to his family. And the one that was currently looking towards his alpha, with uncertainty in his eyes. So he closes his book and approaches her.

"Young Targaryen, I see you have not gotten accustomed to our way of life," said Tyrion, with sarcasm on his tone. And seeing how Daenerys had an uncomfortable posture, the smell of blood from her hands, having in mind the face she made from time to time.

She didn't respond but kept looking towards David. In the week they have been together, every night. Daenerys expected David to take her. Or at least to start to do things to her. But no matter what she was thinking. He never did.

He sent her to sleep in the crude bed full of hides. While he went out every time and only returned when it was dawn. Her new husband and the Khalasar were as mysterious as ever. And the only consolation she had, was watching her dragon eggs, never changing. For her, the eggs were a symbol of all the stories her brother used to tell her. And if they were just pretty valuable stones, for her, it was so much more.

"You shouldn't look at him that way. I know you didn't have a choice in the matter. But he is not the one to force people into doing things, apart from the ones that go against his Pack. All of us around him were given a choice to change our destiny, and we took it. If you want to leave he wouldn't stop you," continue Tyrion noticing that Daenerys was not going to reply to the things he said before.

"If he is so good, why did he accept to marry me. He understood everything that my brother said at our wedding, how He was selling me to him for an army. Even wanting to interrupt the wedding to start planning to go to Westeros. And he just studs there, having a great time," replied Daenerys, without more emotions on her face. But the eyes still betrayed her, and Tyrion notice.

"He didn't explain to me everything. But since the time that he sent his men to help you escape assassins so many years ago, he felt that the two of you were fated. And when the letter of Illyrio came to us. He just needed to see where it would go. Then if it wasn't for him you probably would be sold to the only other Khal left. And with him, your life could only go downhill from there," Replied Tyrion wanting to speak for David. Not wanting anyone to speak ill of the one that changes his miserable existence.

"Why? since my husband was decided to be him. My brother told me how I was going to be sold to a savage every day. And that I should be prepared to give my body and soul to him from the start. But nothing like that has happened. He doesn't look at me like a savage would. So you're telling me he doesn't expect anything from me," finished Daenerys, remembering what he told that night.

"Do you know why everybody calls him the foreign Khal... It's because he is. I was not the first to be by his side, but he took a risk. Just to offer me a chance to escape the shackles of my family. And live my own life. From the first day, I accepted him as my alpha. Regret has never come to my mind. And from Westeros to here, I have seen him do amazing things. He is not a savage, but a wanderer looking for a place to call his own. While bringing his family along with him," said Tyrion remembering all that they have gone through.

"Westeros? Do you come from my homeland? Then how did he become a Khal? And how can you say he changed your destiny. Because it doesn't matter how hard we fight, our destiny is set in stone since we are born. And the only thing we can do is accept our part," replied Daenerys, a little shy of what she just asked.

"Once I believed the same thing, I was destined to stay in my sibling's shadow. Drinking and whoring my way to an early grave. Until he showed me otherwise. every one of us here had our destiny changed by him. He is strong enough to go against the sky. But don't ask more about this. When the time comes, he will tell you everything if you so desire," Said Tyrion, not talking more than he should. But from this brief interaction, he started to see why David accepted carrying the curse that comes with the Targaryen bloodline. And knowing a little of what Daenerys has gone through touched Tyrion's soft spot a little bit.

"Okay, I understand," Replied Daenerys, realizing that she asked more than she should right now. Almost no one trusts her here yet. And remembering what David told her the day of their wedding. She understood that right now, she needed to be patient.

"Here, you need to keep your strength up, have something to eat," said Tyrion remembering the tired look that Daenerys had.

"isn't there anything else?" said Daenerys looking at the piece of horse meat that Tyrion handed to her.

"The Dothraki have two things in abundance. Grass and horses and people can't live on only grass..." replied Tyrion wanting to see Daenerys reaction. and after having seen the astonished face she was making. He laughs and handed a piece of something different than dried horse meat.

Knowing Tyrion was messing with her, she took a bite out of it. And her gaze was moving from side to side, like looking for something. Finally stopping in the position David was.

"Don't worry. It will get easier," Finished Tyrion, and without waiting for her to respond, called towards Missandei to continue going with Danerys.

In the late afternoon, the Pack finally set up camp for the night. Viserys was trying to order some of the Lycans in the Pack to things for him. But using the excuse of not understanding, everybody ignored him.

So not wanting to lose face in front of the "Savages". He just kept walking with a hand on his sword. Feeling it was beneath him to be with the Dothraki like this. But for the sake of his army, and his plans to get back everything that he thinks is his birthright. And everyone on the Packs notices it.

"Master Illyrio has extended his hospitality. You'll be safer and more comfortable there," said Tommen looking at Viscerys with contempt in his eyes.

"I have not interested in hospitality and comfort. I'll stay with your Khal until he fulfills his end of the bargain. And I have my crown," replied Viscerys with even more contempt than Tommen. In his eyes, all the Khalasar and the Pack of giant Direwolfs was already his.

"As you wish, It's your grave," Tommen said without paying more attention to the weakling in front of him. Thanks to being taken by David since he can remember, what is the most important to Tommen was Strength. And the person in front of him could not get in his eyes even if he tried with everything he had.

And leaving a cursing Viserys behind, Tommen went on to find Hodor as it was his time to train.

[Winterfell]

Two days have passed since the triplets got injured, Lady Stark didn't leave their side. But as she could see them getting better every day, she wasn't as worried. Ned was preparing to leave, for the capital, with Sansa and Arya. Jon was finalizing his preparations to go to the wall. Ahead of time, to meet with Gendry and Myrcella. So he needed to say his finals goodbye to the ones he considered like his siblings.

The Lannister continued the same pattern, almost without change. The only change, was with Joffrey, getting more intense. Going to bother Sansa without end, as he already considered her as part of his property. Only for her to ignore him, she hated her father for making her marry the worthless prince but hated Joffrey even more. The way he looks at her creates feelings of disgust. Which made the psychotic side of him more interested in her. A desired to possess her grew bigger in his heart every day.

In the blacksmith, Jon was waiting for the Two swords he asked to be made. While he was waiting, Jamie approaches him, with a look of content in his eyes. And even though in front of Cercei he was not anything more than a Dog. In front of everybody else, he was still the kingslayer.

"swords for the wall?" said Jamie messing with the "Bastard".

"I already have one," said Jon, not paying attention to him.

"And have you swung it yet?" continue Jamie wanting to humiliate him even more.

"Yes, I have taken a lot of lives with it," replied Jon, still not paying attention to the man in front of him. He is not the same weak and inexperienced boy since he met David. He has gone through multiple battles and is already aware of the harshness of life. So it doesn't matter what Jamie says. Jamie will not get under his skin.

Jamie was not expecting him to respond that way. And after about of minute to think what to say.

"Let me thank you ahead of time, for guarding us all against the perils beyond the wall. Wildlings and white walkers. And what not," Said Jamie shaking Jon's hand. And what he didn't expect happened again. When he was about to pull Jon closer to him, he couldn't. But instead, Jon pulled him closer.

"Your welcome. It is a dangerous world out there. You never know when you will end up dead without a warning. But I'm sure you know well about it, having to kill the mad King you were guarding must have been hard for a pretty boy like you. At least this way you will not have to worry about a white walker taking you while you sleep," Replied Jon, annoyed at Jamie in front of him. he felt the moment Jamie wanted to intimidate him. But being a powerful Lycan, and one with some Targaryen blood. He was not so easily intimidated.

Jamie was speechless. And couldn't think of anything to say. He felt a suffocating aura coming from the teenager in front of him. And felt like a wild animal was staring at him, ready to attack at any moment. And before he could respond, Jon took the swords from the Blacksmith and started to walk back. A puppy Ghost following behind him.

This was the first day that Jamie learned of the horrors of the Stark family.

[David POV]

It has been some peaceful and stressful times. And even though I have not gotten closer to Daenerys, I know she needs time to adapt and until she comes to talk. And with Gendry and Myrcella far from the pack, the only thing I can do is to worry about their safety.

I was with Tyrion, Hodor, and a sleeping Tommen that just finished training. We were reminiscing about our past experiences. When a shy Daenerys approached us. She took the whole day since her talks with Tyrion to come to me and try talking.

Noticing her, Tyrion closed his book, and he stood up, ready to leave. While Hodor, looking at the sleeping Tommen, picked him up and put him on his shoulder. The both of them saluted Daenerys and me. And left us alone, so we can talk, As Tyrion had already explained her talks with her beforehand.

"Hello foreign Khal, I'm sorry to interrupt," started Daenerys, seeing as I wasn't saying anything.

"I told you to calm me David. You are already part of the Pack, so don't worry too much," I replied, feeling uncomfortable seeing how Daenerys was still treating him as her owner. But it was not as serious as the first day they talked to each other.

"Well okay," she replied, still trying to say something but not daring to do so. That was obvious, thanks to her opening her mouth and closing it after some hesitation.

"Just ask what you want. And don't worry so much, no one will hurt you here," I said, trying to get her, to ask what she wanted.

"Well, can you tell me why you accepted to marry me," She asked, blushing and in a low voice.

" Well, you already know some things, like me helping you escape the assassins. But mainly, is because I wanted to. Illyrio told me all about your crazy brother. And your situation with him, and with some "gifts" he offered for me as an excuse to accept. In reality, it is all some lame plot, to tie me to your family. Some people have decided on your every move since arriving at Essos. And you to marry a Dothraki was going to happen either way. So why not, if you want a more detailed explanation I cannot give it to you right now," I said, being as truthful as I could, without telling her about my curiosity of what she would turn into when I turned into one of us.

"Just because of this? Why would you take so many troubles for such a dumb reason?" replied Daenerys, having in mind everything that Tyrion said.

"Yes, just because of this. You will be with us for a long time, and you'll see how my pack and I act," I said, trying to change the topic.

"And do you intend to take your Khalasar into Westeros in my brother's name?" continue Daenerys, wanting to see what her future holds.

"Not in the slightest. He is a fool, and fools die fast in this world. And it's not like he can force me to do anything. He has come to me many times now, always with an authoritative tone. Trying to get me to go right now to die against the whole Westeros without even a plan." I continue, getting mad at how Viserys thinks he can command me. But until now, he hasn't crossed a line he shouldn't. So he lives for now.

Daenerys didn't know what to say. Her fear for his brother was still there. and with these comments, her mood to talk was completely abolished.

"Thank you, I will go now," Finished Daenerys, getting up, and before I could respond to her, she left. I felt that even though she was the one that brought his brother into the conversation, she still couldn't handle it. The shadow of him in her heart was still strong enough to control her.

When I was about to return to the tent, I could see Viserys looking at me, and in his eyes, I could see the greed that was for my Pack and my power.

And now I need to find Hodor. Some tasks will need to be arranged for our arrival at Vaes Dothrak.
