Uncles I

The ornate wooden door parted, revealing the two knights in golden plate armor with an all-white cloak hanging from their shoulders who stood straight on the left and right sides of the door in the corridor, and a familiar man strode into the room.

He was a tall handsome man with curled golden hair that sat peacefully on top of his head with a muscular physique that exuded his might. His features were sharp and symmetrical with cat green eyes that seemed to catch the light, a straight nose, an impeccable jawline, and full pink lips that looked like a cherry.

He looked like a prince out of a fairy tale and his confident eyes and the confidence that practically exuded out of his lean but muscular body emphasized that point.

Also, he looked very much like my mother as if they were made from the same mold.

He was the first man to come inside to visit my mother after she gave birth to me and unsurprisingly, I learned that he was Uncle.

His name was Jaime Lannister Of Casterly Rock, the twin brother of the Queen and a member of the prestigious Kingsguard—an institution of noble knights sworn to serve and protect the King.

"Jaime what are you doing here!?" My mother stood up and asked, her voice her little raised while Jaime gently closed the door behind him.

Despite her tone of voice, her frown lessened and I could see the spark that flashed in her eyes the moment her eyes fell on him. She was happy.

"Relax my dear sister, I have permission from Robert. Besides, he's having a meeting with the Small council to plan the tourney so he's kinda busy at the moment." He replied with a gentle smile as he took a step forward, his deep voice as smooth as snow.

"I see. Well, at least he has something better to do than whore himself out." She stoically, but her eyes showed how little she thought of my father and the disgust she had for him.

So my father was an adulterer? That wasn't surprising to me because I knew their marriage wasn't a happy one the moment, I saw the way my mother looked at him when he came to visit me that day.

Plus, his absence during the time of my birth said a lot about their relationship. And he was King, the dictator, and the monarch of possibly an Empire. I honestly expected him to have a harem but by all accounts, it seemed he didn't.

But just because I wasn't surprised at that piece of information did not mean I understood him. I had never in my life seen a woman so beautiful as my mother and I came from a time or place where people used all sorts of beautification materials to enhance their appearance.

She was also well endowed and her motherly and feminine instincts and aspects broke any barrier one could set up so it did not make sense why he would sleep around with women who would be lesser in comparison to her.

But I knew my gender very well and the psyche of a male mind and so I reckoned that there might be a story behind all of this because even my mother didn't seem to care, meaning it was highly likely their marriage was a political one.

Still, at that moment, I made it one of the things I'd find out after my conditions were more suitable...

"True, at least now, I wouldn't have to stand by his door to listen to the moans that force their way out of the whores he brings," He chuckled and moved to the table. "Sometimes, it just sounds pitiful the way the girls try their very best to squeeze out a sound when they practically feel nothing."

Hearing the playful manner in which he said the joke, a derisive laugh came out of my mother's mouth, and adjusting my position perfectly in her arms, she also moved to the table situated near the open balcony doors.

"He only knows how to find his way through a battlefield, that's the only thing he's good that," She snickered softly as Jaime drew out one of the chairs from the table "So to be fair, it's not his fault entirely if he can't navigate through the legs of a woman."

Jaime's lips curled up into a smile at this and similarly, he pulled out another chair for her like a gentleman as she stopped near the table, his suit of armor glistening as the light streaming from the balcony fell on it.

It was amusing to see this side of my gentle mother. Her posture, tone, and the way she moved showed how comfortable and peaceful she was in his presence. She wasn't putting up any airs or anything of the sort, she was acting just the way she was.

Seeing this reminded me of the unique bond I had with Anna and so I couldn't help but smile. Jaime noticed this and the corner of his lips lifted up into a proud smirk as my mother gracefully sat on the chair, his eyes filling up with deep fondness.

"It seems he likes me. I remember telling you that no one can resist my irresistible charm, now you have your proof." He sighed playfully as he adjusted his long cloak and sat down, a warm smile now adorning his face.

My mother cocked an eyebrow at him and then looked down at my face. The moment she saw my smile, she only giggled and pecked my forehead.

"Don't get cocky. It's only because I'm here." She shook her head and stated proudly, her smile broadening as she looked at Jaime.

He only raised his two hands in mock surrender and relaxed in the chair with a playful look on his face and this made my smiling mother turn to look at the scenery outside of the balcony.

My uncle followed her action and also turned his head to stare out of the balcony, drenching the whole room in comfortable silence.

I could only see the drifting clouds that swam in the clear blue sky, unmarred by any form of pollution, and the silhouette of the birds that trekked across it. As a result of my position, the irritating and foul smell of feces and urine assaulted my nasal faculties, making my smile fall.

It was evident to me by now that this city which I was assuming to be the capital of the Kingdom or Empire I was—in the near future—going to rule had poor sanitary and hygienic conditions. Something that didn't sit right with me because even I didn't want to live in a place that reeked of filth all the time.

I had been alive for just about two days and problems were already coming my way. So like always, I just created a mental list and made it of the things I would fix later on.

"...Cersei, can I please hold him?" After a few minutes of silence, Jaime turned his attention to my mother and whispered, in a certain manner I did not expect from an uncle.

My mother turned her head to Jaime and stared at his face that looked like he was pleading for a few seconds and then smiled.

She got up from her seat and moved to him slowly and then stopped right in front of him.

"Here, he's fragile so hold him carefully. Try not to squeeze." She instructed sweetly and lowered me into his strong warm arms.

A beautiful smile blossomed on his face as nervously adjusted me in his arms and as my mother took a step back, his eyes fell on me as his unique scent of soap, metal, and sweat flew into my nose.

I could see it in his eyes, a type of love that seemed out of place and unnatural. He looked at me with green eyes burning with love, pride, and protectiveness, the kind that dictated I was his and his alone. The kind of love and pride a man had for a son or a daughter...

"He's too beautiful...I can't even seem to take my eyes off him. He's perfect Cersei...too perfect..." He said softly, his tone fond and low to exhibit extreme love and care as he caressed the little bit of hair I had soothingly.

"Yes, he sure is..." She concurred, her voice brimming with love as she also stared at us with a content and satisfied smile as if the two of us were the only things she needed in this world.

And it was then that I noticed that their bond was stronger than I thought it was and that the story between these two people who came into this world together was so much deeper.

It felt like I was seeing the image of how well Anna and I would've turned out if everything went well for the two of us if we didn't have to suffer that cruel fate powerful men set for us.

So because of this, a strong feeling welled up within me.

A feeling that imbued a powerful sense of protectiveness for these two people in my new life. It was then I decided that whatever it takes, I would protect this pair of twins from anything that would try to take them away from each other, anything that'll try to destroy the bond that they had or put their lives at risk.

Especially, my new mother who in just two days of knowing her, my vast plethora of experience, told me she would do whatever it took to protect me from harm and make sure I would have anything that could make me happy...

My first promise in this world because I saw Anna and much more in her and I wasn't going to let what happened between us to repeat. This time, nothing was going to separate us...

"Your Grace, Renly Baratheon is requesting to see you!" All of a sudden, a loud booming voice announced outside of the chamber's main entrance and brought me out of my dangerous thoughts.

My mother and Jaime immediately looked at each other and shared a look of annoyance that crawled onto their beautiful faces.

Another Uncle? The whole thing was getting interesting. It was time to see the type of people my new relatives were and the time to start creating their profiles.

"...Let him in..."
