9 Tobho Mott the legendary blacksmith

So when we arrived at the street of steel, I saw how busy of a place it is. there are tons of people, traders, knights, lords, and weaponsmiths also other smiths who forging regular necessary tools.

the Street of Steel begins on the south west corner of Fishmonger's Square before travelling up Visenya's Hill to the Great Sept of Baelor. Many smiths set up shop hear, with Tobho Mott's shop located at the top due to it being the most expensive.

But I honestly don't know what it is exactly..

So I asked around a few smiths about Tobho Mott.

I know he was the only smith knows how to reforge valyrian steel.

My companions are a little confused about it, I can tell that in their minds questioning them why am I looking for this particular individual.

So I explained to them that he's from Essos too, and from the City of Qohor . And the smith from there are very good at making steel weaponry.

Though I didn't tell them how I know this weapon smith.

We resumed our search.

after searching for an hour and asking different smith about his location we found his shop.

and we entered his shop he welcomed us, and his eyes fall into my armor, I saw that he was looking at my armor with tons of curiosities.

I know that many people won't notice,

but this smith knows his stuff, he can understand that the flexibility of my armor is better far better.

Tobho is looking at my armor for a moment

when Rolf- cough and his inspecting eyes falter. Then he told us his most arrogant and boasting line.

I quote " My work is costly, and I make no apologies for that, my Ser. you will not find craftsmanship equal to mine anywhere in the seven kingdoms, I promise you. visit every shop in the kings landing if you like, and compare for yourself. yes the best of best indeed, but the same can't be said about my companions. they didn't believe it.

I told him I liked to have a helm with wings and for the boys all the pieces of equipment. Alban and Alaric were surprised by it and thought that they are now going to be officially my squire. but told them that no it's just an early name day gift, they felt a little sad but happy non the less.

So I learned from Tobho that the crown prince has ordered some similar type of helm but with a dragon theme a few months ago. so I asked him if he's going to harranhall and make a temporary shop during the time of the tourney. he said no and doesn't want to steal the job from those Riverland smith's.

we made our orders and he said I can collect my helm in 5 days later and for the boys ten days after. well, I saw he only has three apprentices. he calculates our bills and told me it's 80 silver coins though understandable.

the boys will have everything in their package. but I know it will take a toll on me, a little.

So I made a deal with Tobho, and I showed him one of my black steel daggers and told him that with the right price I will sell it to him. he took the dagger with amused curiosity then he realized that it is built with different techniques and materials.

if I'm correct this dagger and swords of mine are forged from volcanic irons on Ashfield. they have some distinct looks of shining Black.

he said he needs to test it for more solid observation for the price, I told him to do so and he let us in his forge and did some heating and hammering.

after his little experiment, he told me that the material of this dagger has no magic but far stronger than regular forge steel .he even said that he could reforge valyrian steel, but this is something else.

so he offered me 100 gold coins now and 50 a few months later and what we ordered will be free.

damn, this guy is loaded, oh he did make the armor for the Prince, so he earned a lot.

But he also told me that it has far more value than what he's offering but I wave him off and told him that it will be token of my friendship.

and to call me Alan, but I also told him that I won't let him inspect my armor.

I told him that in the future with an oath if he does not reveal the secrets I will let him have a look and I did offer him my friendship. So he took advantage of me huh!

no matter I know he only wants knowledge and I kinda trust the guy and his crude honesty.

So after that, we left the shop with more money.

and I thought for a moment what to do with it? then It clicked to me I need some expensive dress because if want to go to some high society I can't look poor.

So my next trip to the street of silks on the location of Rhaenys hill.

So we visited the best tailor shop own by a man from Lys.
