Game of Tag

"So do you think we went a bit too far? I mean what if the rumors are true and he's dead?" One of my "friends" asked.

"Nah I don't believe in rumors like those. He'll be back soon." Another "friend" said.

Meanwhile at Esoria.....

I walked into the Tavern with Feno and Faylen then saw Ikeshia at the bar area, drinking a root beer float. I walked to her and sat on a stool beside her.

"So you actually came instead of running back into the forest. You're smarter than half the humans who come here." Ikeshia chuckled.

I studied her facial features. She wore an eye patch, but I was able to see a bit of a scar on her covered up eye. She always had her right eye closed. She had a beauty mark on her chin.

"What happened to your eye?" I asked.

"Got in a fight with a Demon from the Demon Region of this world. He wished to mate with me, but I made him play the game of blades. We battled, I came out superior but suffered a fatal injury to my left eye." Ikeshia answered.

"Game..? Fighting is a game as well?" I asked.

"In Esoria, anything can be made into a game if it has a condition, rules, goals, challenges, and interactions. That's why the Game of Lust is so hard, because there are no rules, no goals, no challenges, just two conditions. You can not kill unless you host a game and one condition must be added to the game, if the host loses the game the winner is allowed to have sex with the loser unless told otherwise." Ikeshia said.

"It's all fair game what a game is in this world." Feno said and closed his eyes. "Luckily for you, us Elves aren't as ruthless with our games as the Humans or the Demons. Last year the humans had a tournament and those who didn't place in top 8 were killed."

"What the fuck..?" I looked at Feno.

Ikeshia stood up and placed money on the counter. "Faylen, do you still wish to end this man's life?"

"He saw me naked! Of course I can't let him live with that image in his brain!" Faylen blushed.

"The fuck? There was barely anything to look at. You're gonna kill me for looking at a flat board?" I said.

Feno looked at Faylen then covered his mouth snickering. Faylen blushed a lot more and glared. She yelled and charged at me. Ikeshia held her hand on Faylen's forehead.

"Lemme at him! Let me at that scumbag!" Faylen yelled in embarrassment. "I'm gonna kill him! I swear I'm gonna kill him!"

"What is your name anyway, human?" Ikeshia asked, turning to my direction.

"Oh, I'm Leon. Back at home I was a blacksmith, working with my dad. We made stuff like axes and knives. Things like that." I answered.

"I see." Ikeshia nodded. "I have a proposal."

We all looked at Ikeshia. She smirked and opened her right eye slightly, exposing her red eye.

"How about a simple game of tag? How about it? If you want to kill him, Faylen, host the game. If you lose, you know the rules." Ikeshia said.

Faylen's light green eyes shined with excitement and she smirked. "Yeah. Let's do it-"

"But I'm setting my own conditions." Ikeshia held her hand to me and poked my forehead.

I felt magic course through my body and a symbol appeared on my hand. I looked at her and she closed her right eye.

"This spell only lasts for one hour. If you can't catch him within one hour, you lose. You have to physically touch him to catch him. If he touches you, you're it once again. The game is over once one hour is over." Ikeshia snapped her fingers then Faylen and I were transported outside.

"Good luck, Leon. All eyes are on you." Feno said.

'So anything can be a game...does that mean the Game of Lust is whatever we make it? This game of tag kinda answers my dumb question.' I thought to myself.

"Ready? Go!" Ikeshia said.

I grunted and looked at Faylen. She lunged at me and tried to touch me. I dodged her and ran off. Faylen dashed after me. I looked back seeing Faylen jumping from building to building.

"You won't get away!" She summoned her bow and summersaulted then shot three arrows at me.

I picked up a box and blocked the arrows. I yelled and threw the box at her. She blew the box up with a wind magic attack.

'Goddamnit...' I thought to myself.

I ran off and Faylen charged at me again. She appeared in front of me, catching me off guard. I grunted and dodged her touches. I grabbed her wrist and kicked her, making her slid back. I ran off, slipping a bit then stood up again. Faylen bellowed and her magical aura surged. She dashed to me and jumped into the air.

"Tempest Fury!" She bellowed.

"I'm only human damnit!" I bellowed and barely dodged her wind magic blast. I groaned and rolled forward.

"He's survived longer than I expected..." Feno said and smirked.

"It's been five minutes. Don't praise him yet." Ikeshia said.

I saw a ladder and climbed up on it. I ran on the building and Faylen chased me. I looked ahead and saw the next building, making a jump for it and yelled. I jumped high then landed on the building and ran forward.

"You can't outrun me!" Faylen bellowed and vanished.

She appeared in front of me again. She thrusted her hand out then I slid under her legs and rolled forward. She squeaked and closed her legs, blushing.

"He's very good when it comes to instinct. Wonder where it gets it from." Feno said.

"Hm..." Ikeshia crossed her arms

The townspeople watched from their magic TVs as well. They were impressed at my abilities. The woman who I met watched worried.

"Please, don't get caught." She held her hands together.

"I'll kill you, pervert!" Faylen shot an arrow to the sky and it split into 20 arrows.

I looked up and grunted then I slipped. I held my hand out and a barrier appeared over me. I looked shocked and saw my hand emitting magic aura. "Whoa..."

Faylen dashed to me and took her dagger from the scabbard then slashed at me. I spread my legs open, avoiding her attack.

"Why aim at my fucking dick?! You're insane!" I said.

"Tch. I don't want your cock entering my body if you win! Plus you'll bleed out before you get the chance to win!" Faylen bellowed and slashed again.

I rolled to the side and rolled off the roof and landed on my feet. I ran off again.

"It's been 15 minutes...he is a very persistent person." Ikeshia smiled.

Faylen ran after me. I hid in an alley and sat on the ground, panting. I looked at the sky, trying to catch my breath and thinking of my next move.

"Where the hell are you?! Show yourself and lose with dignity!" Faylen bellowed.

I stood up and made my way out the alley.

"What are you doing..? Stay in the alley! She can't see you!" The woman said.

Faylen looked back and glared.

"It's funny how you, an elf, can not catch me, a human. Aren't you supposed to be better in every way possible?" I taunted and wanting her to take the bait.

"Why you little.." Faylen glared and her magic aura surged.

'That's right...come at me with everything. Waste your energy.' I thought to myself.

Faylen vanished and appeared in front of me, kicking. I looked surprised then dodged last second. I grabbed her ankle and stomped on the ground then tossed her to a building. She groaned as she hit the protective barrier around the building.

"He's actually fighting back now. Although his reflexes are better than the average human, an elf's endurance is better than a human's. He can't run forever and he knows that. That's why he's using Faylen's anger against her." Feno smirked. "Very smart."

"So this game of tag comes to a game of endurance as well. Every second counts to the person who's not it." Ikeshia said.

Faylen bellowed and shot a wind blast at me. I dodged and she appeared behind me. I grunted and she palmed my back, blowing me away. I groaned and landed on the ground.

"You're it.." Faylen said and her eyes emitted aura.

"This game is very intense." Feno smirked.

A male sat on the top of a building and watched the game. He studied me and frowned. "This human...he's able to match someone like Faylen. Who is he?"

I stood up and turned around. She glared at me then I ran towards her. She ran off and jumped up on a building then began to run on the roof. I jumped up and landed on the building as well. She shot wind blasts at me and I dodged them by either jumping or sliding under them. I rolled toward and touched her leg. I stood up and ran ahead.

We jumped from building to building and I was hit with a wind blast and groaned loudly. I rolled on my side then fell onto the ground. I gasped for air then coughed. I groaned and stood up slowly. Faylen appeared behind me and her eyes glowed brightly, emitting aura.

'Fuck...it's so hard to move..' I thought to myself and hurried off, limping. 'That magic attack definitely broke something..'

Faylen walked after me. I couldn't run because my legs were tired. I coughed a bit of blood then placed my hand on the barrier on a building. I fell to one knee, panting.

"Finally...you're done running. Now you lose." Faylen walked to me. "You're fast with that magic spell...but even with magic, your body has limitations."

I looked back at her and tried to stand. My body wouldn't let me move and I just groaned and sat there. Faylen touched my shoulder.

"Game over." She said then my magic symbol shattered.

I looked down and lost the life in my eyes. I gave a weak chuckle and sighed. "This is how I go out.."

Faylen looked at me and felt the despair within me. "Why do I feel so bad for this human...?"

"He tried his hardest. Now Faylen has a choice, kill him or keep him alive." Feno said, watching.

I just looked at the ground and gave a smile. I coughed and my hair covered my eyes. "If you're going to kill me...do it. I have no problem seeing my father again early..."

Faylen looked at me then crouched down and placed her hand on my back, healing my body. I looked up a bit surprised. "To be fair...I guess you can call our first meeting an accident. You didn't mean to wander on me, you did look pretty lost.."

"It took you that long to figure out..?" I said.

"Hmph..." Faylen turned her head away. "We can just say we are even."

I looked at her then closed my eyes, smiling. "Whatever...we're even."

"Would you look at that. For the first time in history, mercy was shown in this world." Feno chuckled.

"Mercy..." Ikeshia closed her eye then smiled. "I'm sure the Goddesses are astonished by this game. No one has ever showed mercy after winning. Looks like the Elven Region is making history."
