Dark Souls (End)

• Kaelos Pov •

Kaelos jumped from his position, his newly acquired blade and shield were ready. Closing in on the huge monster, he wielded his blade, holding it over the creature's head as it screamed in pain. "This time, I won't run!" With the monster struggling, Kaelos had to retreat, jumping off it and returning to the arena. The creature's body bore several injuries, as if it had just come out of a fight.

"How did I not notice this before?...That explains how that knight was so injured. You fought well." It was weakened thanks to the fight it had against that knight, raising its blade and keeping its gaze steady, waiting for the creature's first movement. Kaelos was determined to finish this dungeon.

"Grrrugh!" With that huge hammer heading towards him, he jumped to the side, wasting no time in moving forward. The creature's leg had a somewhat deep cut as Kaelos attacked the existing wounds there, making the fight more disadvantageous for the monster.

But at the moment when Kaelos was in combat with the monster he just saw and was moving, the force of that stomp was strong enough to throw Kaelos' body away, his chest hit hard against the stone pillar, completely destroying it.

"Arrgh! You...demon..." The sensation of feeling his bones was evident on his face, but that bottle was emitting a powerful orange light, and without thinking twice, he completely swallowed the liquid from it. "Wow...invigorating..." This cure was better than many clerics that Kaelos had come to know; the pain and fatigue in his body would disappear, but he couldn't stop that thing, and it kept heading towards him.

"Tsk! Persistent." Running around the place, he was thinking of better ways to fight the creature other than in a fight of resistance. While he was behind one of the pillars, he waited for his opponent to knock it down. Thanks to the lack of infrastructure on the upper floor, he fell on top of the monster.

"Idiot!" Just above the monster that was buried, a figure approached, with its shiny blade piercing its head in the same place, adding even more force. "Take that!" With his shield, he hit the monster's eyes with all his strength, making it struggle in pain and lose its vision. Its body was buried in the rubble and finally began to perish thanks to the accumulated injuries.

"Hah...I...I won?...Hahaha." Kaelos' body was beginning to relax from all the tension. A white light took over the monster's body, making it disappear. That same light went towards Kaelos and only disappeared.

[Congratulations on completing the tutorial. Would you like to continue or finish your exploration?]

A blue screen was in front of Kaelos as his gaze was completely amazed, his heart was racing, and only a dull smile appeared. "Tutorial? This developer is crazy...I'd better go back for now, but I'll see where this goes later." He confirmed that he wanted to leave. His body was enveloped by the same light from the portal, beginning to appear back in the room as before, but something was strange. Many adventurers were staring at Kaelos in surprise.

"What?..." It was common for people to watch adventurers exploring instant dungeons, but it was difficult for many to be so close together.

"Kaelos brother! You were so cool facing that huge monster! That knight has been avenged!" A child said excitedly that his appearance was similar to Kaelos, but in miniature, his face showed unparalleled animation. While others talked to the adventurer, soon they would also start trying the Dark Souls dungeon.

"But have they already completed it? They're really quick, at least it's a good start. I expected it would take a few days to gather that many people." I was sitting near the window of the restaurant. This place has the best grilled snack in the entire central city, the treasure of the poor.

"I'm already running out of money... I better get some missions, but I hope there won't be too many difficult missions today." Getting up, I just paid for what I ate and went towards the guild. It was quite large, being a building, and the interior was as big as a dance hall. When I was going to enter, I was just pulled by someone.

"Hey pipsqueak! It's still so weak...came to accept a mission after months of doing nothing?" Hugging me was the guild's master's daughter, a powerful female orc and quite popular in the guild, we have been friends since I ended up in this world.

"I wasn't doing anything; I just finished doing the instant dungeon." I laughed a little as the hug broke apart. Her eccentric and bubbly personality was a charm I can't deny, she taught me how to stand up for myself, so I have her to thank for that. "But yes, I'm here to pick up some missions." She smiled really wide when she heard this, just taking me to one and taking the paper off the mission board.

"Thanks for your help as always, Sandra!" The mission was quite simple, exterminate Kobolds who were causing chaos on the city's commercial route. "Just be careful not to set fire to the forest; a wizard last time caused problems for the water wizards." Actually, as I took on K'dash's body, I gained his fire powers, so it was better not to cause a forest problem; paying for repairs is something I don't want.

"Bye, Sandra, I'll buy you dinner on the way back!" Her face turned a little red, but she still had her usual smile. She's a fun person to tease, but I admit I wouldn't complain about a date.

[Reward: Skill Ticket.]

"Finally, well, let's see what I can do with this; it's better to have something new available than just my fire powers." The ticket in my hand started to catch fire until it disappeared. My screen showed the reward, and I couldn't stop smiling.
