New game and first player

Time flies fast and Mark took a little longer to finish the game since there were some problems.

Still, the countdown in the system mission tab showed that he had 6 days left until the mission ended.

"That should be enough time" thought Mark.

Having made the last modifications and improvements he uploaded the game files on a USB and went downstairs to download the game on the 8 PC's he got set up.

Downloading the game on 8 different computers was no easy task as the game files were quite big. When Mark was done, it was already passed midday.

"Finally!! Its done, I spend so much time and effort on this. If it does not become a hit than I don't know what will."

"Now I just to arrange the poster I made outside and wait for the customers."

A day before after Mark was done making the trailer although he was quite satisfied with it, but in the end he thought that just the game trailer won't attract too much attention so he made a poster as well.

Now that everything is set up and ready Mark went inside the store to make himself a coffee and wait.

*Meanwhile..*

"Damn it. I can't believe the game I waited so much for was a flop."

"This damn company made me so exited while watching the promotional video, but it was all hype and the in end game was trash."

Adrian Ross was walking home from the "King's throne" game conference. He was very disappointed the game created too much hype and what he waited for was just a scam in the end.

While still swearing and talking trash about "King's throne" Adrian noticed something from the corner of his eye.

"Rise of Immortals?"

"Take fate in your hands and ascend the heavens?"

"Why have I never heard of this. It must be another scam... But it sounds quite interesting."

"Well, I will give it a try. I have nothing else do to right now."

Adrian entered the shop but he saw no one at the counter, he looked around and noticed there were 8 computers on the left side of the shop.

"This computers.... They don't have any markings or logos, I wonder what company they are from..."

"OWNER!!" Shouted Adrian

"COMING!!" Responded Mark who was in the back room.

"Ohh, my first customer." Thought Mark

"Hello! Hello! What can I do for you you?"

"Owner, I want to try the game on the poster outside."

"No problem. It's 15 dollars and hour for the normal version and 25 for the VR version. Which one would you like to try?"

"VR? There is a VR version?"

"But I don't see any helmet around..." thought Adrian a little confused by what the shop owner said.

How can you play a VR game without the Equipment.

"Maybe he have it in the back room?" Thought Adrian.

"I want to play theVR version than."

"Alright than, please follow me."

Mark went to one of the computers and turned it on. The screen was white for a second before a display with only one icon appeared. It was "Rise of Immortals".

After turning on the game Mark set it to VR mode he said:

"Here you go. Rember that you can only play for 6 hours a day."

"Alright."

"Like I'm gonna play this for 6 hours, I will just give it a try and see if it's good or not" thought Adrian in his mind. But he did not say it out loud to make the owner angry.

Adrian sat on the chair and looked at the screen, there was just one button which said "Start".

Again he was confused about the lack of helmet but thinking that he should not expect too much from such a small café he gave up and pressed the " Start" button on the screen.

Immediately after he pressed it, Adrian felt like he was falling asleep and slowly closed his eyes.

When he woke up he was shocked because he was in a white room . there was only a mannequin in front of him.

"WHAT THE F... K!!!"

"Have I been kidnapped? No! Impossible!! I want to leave! Let me out!!"

After he said that Adrian woke up in his chair with a shocked expresion on his face...

"A dream!? Did I just fall asleep?"

"No, it's this game!!" exclaimed Adrian.

"What the hell is this!! Is this a VR game? When did our country achieve this kind of advanced technology?"

"Or is this some kind of black tech...?"

After calming himself down Adrian was quite interested in this weird new game.

He pressed the button again and just like before he woke up in the white room , the mannequin from before still there.

After a quick look around and he determined that there was nothing else inside here except for himself and the weird looking mannequin, he slowly approached it to inspect it.

When he was only a a few steps in front of the mannequin a screen popped up in front of him .

"CREATE YOUR CHARACTER"

Adrian was taken aback by the blue screen that popped out of nowhere, but after reading what was written on it, he realized what it was.

"I see, so this is what that was used for. Alright let's give this a try."

When he opened the character customisation screen he was surprised how much he could do with it.

From the eyes color to even the body hair lenght , everything could be customised.

"Wahhh this is amazing. Usually you can only do a little bit in other games, like change your hair or choose some body accessories."

After Adrian started making his character he got so engrossed that he failed to realize that 3 hour already passed.

Meanwhile, Mark was talking with Lily who just arrived a bit earlier at the shop.

"Thanks a lot for helping me Lily, I could not have finished so fast without your help."

"Hell…. I would have probably just made some bullshit story that no one would be paying attention to."

"Hahha, no worries, Mark, I am glad that I could help. You can depend a little more on me you know?"

Looking at Lily's smile Mark blushed a little. He couldn't deny that Lily was really beautiful. Even in his past life only those big stars or idols could compare to her.

"System, can I tell her about your existence?"

*SILENCE*

After a few seconds the system responded:

~If that's the host wish, but remember that not anyone can be trusted. I hope the host understands~

"Indeed, although I can trust Lily 100% not everyone is so close to me. In the future I will pay more attention to this."

"Lily, there is something I want to tell you about. This is a big secret so please don't talk to anyone about it."

Lily was a little bit confused by how serious mark was right now, but she still answered sincerely:

"I understand Mark. Don't worry, your secret is going to be safe with me."

"So, what is it that do you want to tell me and must be so serious about?

Lily had known Mark since they were kids, but this is the first time that he was so serious about something.

"What could it be…?" she thought.

"Lily .... I .... I actually have a System."
