Game cafe

- Ahhh man , I knew I should not have stayed up all night playing that game, ah well whatever. Its time to open the shop.

It was another usual day for Mark. Since 4 years ago when he transmigrated into this world after his parents died in a car accident Mark has been living alone taking care of an internet café.

This business being the only thing left behind by his parents before they passed away.

Since they were only ordinary people they work hard to save some money and open a business. This cafe that Mark is the owner of now has just a few visitors each day. The people around the neighborhood love the peace and quiet in Mark's café and since the prices are relatively low as well, the shop can keep a few loyal clients.

About 20 minutes after Mark opened a young lady about 24 years old entered the cafe. She was Lily. Mark's childhood friend and a frequent visitor of his café.

She has quite a lively personality so the moment she entered she greeted Mark who was behind the counter.

"Morning Mark. How's business going lately?"

"Ahh Lily, good morning! Well, it could have been better. Prices are going up everywhere these days."

"Sooner or later I will lose all my clients if I increase my prices as well. So the usual?"

Mark did not expect that instead of the usual black coffee Lily would order something he did not know about.

"No, today I want to try a new drink everyone is talking about! It's called a Frappuccino."

This is the first time Mark heard the name of this drink. So, first he had to check the internet to see how it's made. After all he did not want to disappoint Lily by telling her the that he does not know how to do it.

While Mark went in the back to to check for the drink recipe he unintentionally looked at the silver ring on his finger.

It was a gift from his father when he turned 18. He told mark to always keep the ring safe because it will bring him a surprise in the future.

*sigh*

Mark remembered the times with his parents. Although he had not spent a lot of time with them after transmigrating every memory was precious to him, since in his past life, he grew up alone.

"Alright Mark, enough sulking, we got work to do!"

What mark failed to realize was that after he took his eyes away from the ring there was a strange light coming out of it.

How could mark ever guess that what his father said would be true and this very ring will bring him a surprise he could never think of.

After Mark was done making the coffee he returned at the counter.

"Here you go Lily, one Frappuccino." That would be 5 dollars but consider this one on the house"

"Ah alright, thank you Mark. Also, have you heard the news lately?"

"News? You know I don't watch the news. What's happening that got you so excited."

"That's true, you are not even going out that much, you are getting paler with each passing day Mark. Also go to the gym sometimes!"

"How are you gonna find a wife if look like this."

"Yea, yea, now tell me that news you were talking about!"

"Apparently video games have become a hit now, more and more young people decide to become eithter gamers or game developers and leave their old jobs. The government even made a new law which support game companys and provide funds to make more games. It is good for the economy they said."

"What?! That's crazy Lily, how can one live just by playing games. I must say it is relaxing after a day of work but to make a living out of it?"

After hearing the news from Lily Mark was a bit perplexed. "You can make money just by playing games now!?" thought Mark.

"You never know right? I remember you used to study game development in high school, why don't you buy a few computers for your cafe and give it a try? I'm sure you can make some good games."

"This…. Alright. I will think about it, maybe I 'll give it a try."

-Glad to hear that Mark! Oh, it's getting late. Alright, gotta go to work now. See you later Mark!"

"Bye Lily!"

After she left Mark thoght about Lily words. He liked playing games and when he was still in high school he indeed studied game development, but unfortunately he never got to finish because of his parents accident. After that he left highschool to take care of the cafe.

"Well… it doesn't sound like a bad idea…"

Mark had some money saved for rainy days just in case. He was thinking about using it to buy 3 or 4 PC's for his cafe.

"Whatever, I got nothing to lose."

That night Mark went to sleep, his mind wondering this idea can save him from having to close the café.

Not knowing when but after Mark fell asleep, his ring started shining again just that this time it was stronger than the first time it happened earlier this morning.

If Mark was awake now he would have heard the voice in his mind:
