Event Host

After Mark finished talking with Robert, he took the stereo system and returned to his shop.

"I guess that went well…" thought Mark back to his conversation with Mariah's father.

Although the man was quite imposing, he was not a bad or unreasonable person.

"Nevermind, I have to concentrate on the event for the time being."

After saying that Mark started to work on installing the stereo system around the café. He did this so that everyone could listen to what the players will sing.

2 hours later, after he was done, Mark realized he had forgotten something important. He needed a host.

The first person who came to mind was Lily. Although Mark was disappointed in her, Lily personality was quite attractive to young people. And she was beautiful, yea that's a plus.

"NO, NO, NO! There must be someone else. Should I ask Mariah?" With that thought in mind Mark grabbed the phone and decided to give her a call.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

"Hello? Mark? Is everything ok?"

Mariah was surprised to receive Mark's call so fast, after all they had a date last night. It had only been a few hours since they last talked to each other.

"Of course. I was just calling because I want to ask you something."

"Are you free on Saturday?"

"I don't have any plans yet, why? You want to invite me to another date?" said Mariah somewhat playfully.

"I wish. I'm actually going to have an event for "Rise of immortals" on Saturday and I need a host. I'm not very good with crowds, you know."

"I see. Then I'd love to. Isn't this also a kind of date?"

"I guess it is. Then I will wait for you on Friday morning at the café. I will explain all the details then.

"Alright. Sounds like a plan to me. See you Friday. *Mwah* Bye Mark"

"Mariah…." Although Mark wanted to say something more, he realized that Mariah had already closed the call.

"This woman… I swear…"

Mark smiled to himself, feeling happy that Mariah agreed to be the host for his event. He knew that she had a natural charm and charisma that would be perfect for the crowd.

With the host secured, Mark went back to his work, making sure that everything was in place for the event. He double-checked the equipment, made sure the seating was arranged properly, and even put up some decorations around the café.

As the day of the event approached, Mark felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. He had put a lot of effort into organizing everything and wanted it to be a success.

On Friday morning Mark had just woken up when he got a call.

"Who is it! Who is calling me at this early hour!"

He checked his phone a little bit annoyed being woken up from his sleep. But the moment he saw the caller's ID he quickly answered and even had a smile on his face.

(A/N: OMG! I'm shocked how fast he can change his mood. ^_^)

"Hello Mariah. Did not expect you to call me so early in the morning."

"Early? Baby what are you talking about it's already 09:00."

"Did you not tell me to come Friday morning so you can brief me on the event details?"

"When I said Friday morning, I didn't mean so early" thought Mark with a helpless face.

"That's right. Where are you?"

"In front of your café. I'm surprised you have not opened yet. Were you sleeping?"

"AHHH, of course not, I was getting ready for the day. Gimme a minute, I'll come down to open the door for you."

"Alright"

As Mariah hung up the phone, Mark let out a sigh of relief. He quickly got dressed and headed down to the café to meet with her.

When he arrived, Mariah was already waiting outside. Mark went to open the door and she greeted him with a warm smile.

Mark invited Mariah inside and asked her if she wanted a coffee, but Mariah refused saying she already had a coffee in the morning. Mark smiled and did not say anything. He took Mariah to a random table inside and sat down.

Once they were seated at a table, Mark began to brief Mark on the details of the upcoming event. He explained the theme and the schedule for the day.

Mariah listened attentively, taking notes as Mark spoke. She asked questions and even offered suggestions where she thought they were needed.

As they worked, Mark couldn't help but admire Mariah's passion and dedication. Despite the early hour, she was full of energy and enthusiasm.

After Mark finished briefing her on all the details, they made some more small talk, enjoying each other's presence.

Around 12:00 Mariah left after she got a call from her mother but promised Mark that she will do her best at the event tomorrow.
