3 The Players

When Ned pressed the  [Play ] button, he strangely felt a slight dizziness before seeing that everything around him had become clear.

Having been in the dark room for a long time, Ned took a while to adapt to the light.

At this point he was extremely scared!

"Shit, did I die? Please nooooo....!!!!!" Ned yelled as he started to cry and knelt on the floor.

But when he knelt down, Ned felt like he was kneeling in grass. Confused, he wiped his own tears and looked around, only to see a very bright and colorful world.

"Is this... is this heaven? Is heaven a square?" He asked himself confused as he tried to understand what was going on.

Until he saw a screen floating in front of him.

Curious, Ned approached and saw what was written.

  [Minecraft]

[Single Player - Coming Soon ]

  [Multiplayer - 0/10 players ]

[Shop - Coming Soon ]

  [Quit]

Seeing this Ned was shocked.

"Is this... is this the game?!" Ned muttered nervously as he hit the exit button. Then feeling the dizziness he'd previously felt, but now a little weaker, in a flash Ned found himself in his own room again, with the Minecraft Launcher screen in front of him, with the mouse over the  [Play  ] button.

"I returned?" He wondered as he looked around his room, which was just as he had left it before he left.

Ned was scared of this game, but like a good nerd, Ned was even more curious about it. After all, if this was a game, it was his duty to complete the game completely. Even more so because it was such a different game, he was tempted to dig deeper and see what would happen.

Then with a confident expression, like a warrior going to an unknown war, Ned pressed  [Play ] again.

When he opened his eyes again, Ned found himself in the same green, colorful, and square world he was in before but this time he didn't press  [Exit], rather he saw [Multiplayer - 4/10 Players  ].

Nervously wondering if he might miss a spot on this Beta of this mysterious game, Ned hit the [Multiplayer - 4/10 Players] option.

When he hit that button, Ned once again felt that same nauseousness and the world turned Dark.

When he regained his consciousness, he was laying on the ground on top of grass. He stood up and checked his body.

The first thing he noticed was that his arms had turned square. 'It's probably to match the world, right?' Ned asked himself mentally.

On his back he felt a backpack, so out of curiosity he grabbed the backpack and opened it.

But instead of seeing what was inside, Ned saw a screen floating in front of him, with a book and a box, and several empty spaces. He also noticed a blocky character with the same dress that he wore with a row of hearts, an empty row of armours and a place on the side which should be a place where buffs or debuffs he may have get displayed.

Curious, he reached into his backpack and reached for the book.

Magically the book came out of his hand.

Opening the book carefully, Ned began to read the instructions and was a little confused. But suddenly he heard someone calling him.

He looked up from the books and saw that the other players were staring at him.

Hmmm.... Some of them were dressed in some costume type clothing, he realized. Roleplayers maybe, he thought.

He was sure of his judgement when he noticed that 2 people were somewhat freaking out, one of whom was yelling something about Mjolnir. While the others looked somewhat uncomfortable.

He asked the other players, "How do you know my name?"

A girl with red hair replied, "Do you not see that our name is displayed on top of our heads?"

Only then did Ned realize that their names were displayed. Not only that, his name was his real name. He tried touching his name but it only dissipated when he did so.

"Looks like we can only use our real names. But how does this place know our real names?", Ned sighed aloud.

"That I'm not sure. But looking at how real this game is feeling, if the developers have some kinda tech that can search our IRL information from online, I wouldn't doubt it." The redhead now known as Jean spoke.

"I agree. BTW why did you people call me?", Ned asked.

"Oh we were just introducing ourselves. I'm Jean. That blonde girl there is Felicia. That boy is Peter Parker. That black girl there is Shuri. That person is Logan. That person wearing a shirt and pants is Bruce Banner. Those two brothers are called Thor and Loki and by the way how that guy named Thor is freaking out over his hammer, I can guess that they are both actors for a play or something. That lady named Sif is also their friend." Jean replied.

"Hey how do you have a book?" Peter asked Ned.

Hearing this everyone realized that Ned was holding a book, while they were empty handed. Thor then came to Ned and asked, " How do you have an item? How can I get an item? Where's my hammer?"

Ned got a little nervous being asked so many questions but thankfully Logan came to his rescue, "You're scaring the boy, Thor."

Thor backed away realizing that Logan was telling the truth. Ned relaxed and then answered his questions, "Thor this is a game, not our real world. I know that this is possibly the invention of the era but you must realize that this is not the real world. You don't have your hammer here. As for why I have a book, we all are carrying a backpack. Check it. It has our inventory which only has a guide book, a crafting 2x2 crafting grid, our avatar which is what we look like in-game, It uses our clothes that we wore before getting on the game. The hearts indicate our health, the empty armour bars indicate our armour which is empty as we don't have any armours. The empty grid next to our avatars is the place where any effects we suffer from are shown."

The rest of the players then did as Ned told and some even started reading the guide books.

Logan suddenly said, "Uh, Ned. Why is that effect bar you talked about have two effects called Regeneration and Instant Healing?"
