3 Chapter 2: Heroine and Villainess

After passing through several corridors, and walking downstairs, he reached the double doors of the dining room.

A maid stood guard, her expression gentle and welcoming with a small bow.

"Mistress is waiting inside, Young Master," she announced, softly pushing open the doors.

The clatter of forks and knives stopped abruptly as four pairs of eyes turned towards him.

Taking a deep breath, Asher entered the room, his smile, usually bright and confident.

The silence in the dining room was broken as he entered.

A tiny figure shot out from behind a chair, her joyous voice echoing in the room.

"Ash! Ash!" it was a soft, high-pitched voice, a small girl with her night-black hair, a mischievous grin, launched herself at her brother's embrace. A missing tooth peeked out, adding to her charm.

She was Aurora Agnes. Twin Sister of Asher. Just like him, she was also 10 years old.

Her amethyst eyes, sparkling like fairy lights, held a world of love for Asher.

Petite and delicate, she could've easily snugly into his arms like a precious little porcelain doll.

Her tiny hands, always in motion, fluttered like butterflies.

Asher stumbled back slightly, surprised by the force of her hug, but just within a moment, he pulled her into a hug, his hand instinctively wrapping around her small frame.

At that moment, Aurora seemed to melt in his arms, as if willing herself to fit perfectly in his embrace, her tiny hands clutching at his shirt.

"Happy birthday!" A tiny giggle escaped the lips of Aurora.

Pulling back slightly, he carefully looked at her smiling face, he cupped her face in his hands, his touch gentle as he brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes.

"Happy birthday to you too, Aur." He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, sending a shiver of delight down her spine.

"Fuaahh~ hehe~" she squealed, smiling broadly while giggles escaped from her mouth. She liked the gentle and comforting touch of her brother.

Reaching down, he gently ruffled her hair. While doing so, his eyes caught the gaze of the three women watching them silently from across the table.

Feeling the gaze, he entwined his fingers with Aurora's tiny hand and gently pulled her towards her seat.

"Come on, Aur, Let's eat that pie before it disappears, it's your favourite."

"Mmm!" Aurora's face lit up, and she nodded eagerly, he led her by the hand to the table.

Pulling out a chair with a flourish, he helped her sit down, her legs dangling a few inches above the ground.

As they sat down.

Stella, the head maid, began arranging an assortment of delicious-looking food on his plate, each piece perfectly presented, almost too pretty to eat.

Her hair, the colour of rich, roasted chestnuts, was pulled back in a neat bun, adorned with a simple bow.

Her eyes, a deep, warm brown, held a quiet intensity.

Wearing a pristine, traditional black maid's dress and a starched white apron, she stood with quiet dignity.

She has a tall and slender figure, standing with perfect posture. Although her face remained composed, her eyes convey a sense of dedication to her duties.

"Here you go, young Master Asher and Miss Aurora, I know you've been looking forward to this special meal. Please, enjoy yourself." She carefully placed a plate laden with food in front of Asher and Aurora, she excuses herself standing a few steps behind.

"Thank you, Stella. It looks delicious." Asher said before___

"Tsk." A click of the tongue, sharp and dismissive, drew Asher's attention from his plate. A furrow appeared on his brow, similar to the one forming on Aurora's small face.

'Why does her big sis always bully her brother?' she couldn't help but wonder.

Across the table, a girl with dark hair pulled back in a tight braid glared at him.

Her blue eyes, though undeniably pretty, held a hint of disdain.

Those eyes, plucking them out from the socket would be more satisfying than this disdained filled gaze.

Her body was small, but has already begun to show her sign develop, her chest protruding, showing her growth.

This was Elysia Agenis, the eldest daughter, at the age of twelve years old and already radiating the air of someone who expected the world to bend to her will.

Of course, she will, after all she is one of the main heroines.

An awkward silence fell in the room for a moment.

"Good morning, Ash!" a soft voice broke the tension in the room. "And happiest of birthdays!"

The woman at the head of the table, her back as straight and proud as a sunflower, turned towards him. Her smile, warm and bright like the morning sun.

Her lips are just made for deep and intense kisses. Drowning in pleasure while sucking them.

Her hair Raven black just like both twins and blue eyes mirrored those of Elysia, but where the daughter held ice, the mother held warmth tempered by years of responsibility.

She has large breasts, bigger than Asher's head, he could easily bury his face in them. Also plunge a knife and create a shower of…milk?

This was Scarlett Agenis, she was the matriarch of the Agenis family, a woman of immense power and influence, yet her voice held a motherly tenderness as she addressed him.

"Good morning, mom and thank you." He spoke, though in his mind, her behaviour was different from his memories of her, but perhaps that was to be expected – he was her son now, after all.

Or thing's will change within years from now on.

He glanced sideways at Elysia, her disdain still burning bright.

Why? He couldn't place it. Was her animosity the reason for the change? Perhaps, 'For now, it is best to play my cards safe and close, observe, and gather information.'

Asher's gaze drifted towards Aurora, his smile softening as he saw her messy face.

She was also a future villain.

Some players considered her to be one of the sub-heroines yet somehow untouchable but unfortunately, she was villain through and through, and not just normal villainess but one of the top.

However, that's what makes her different.

"Did you get enough sleep~" he asked, smiling as she munched sweet pie, the strawberry jam spilled on her face, but this messiness only amplified her innocence, making her more vulnerable, more precious, a porcelain doll to be protected... and controlled.

"Mmm-hmm!" She nodded enthusiastically, a pancake halfway to her mouth.

"Slow down, Aur," he chuckled, gently wiping a smudge from her cheek with a napkin.

"We wouldn't want all that delicious food to go to waste."

"Hehe~ brother will clean up for Aurora~" Aurora giggled, strawberry filling staining her tiny fingers. The scene looks warm.

Nobody would know that such a pair of siblings would be one of the notorious villains.

Baaam,

Suddenly, Elysia's slamming fist shattered the illusion of family warmth.

"I'm done, and also wish you a very happy birthday!" she spat, her words were filled with sarcasm, dripping like venom, her glare icy daggers aimed at Asher.

Asher's smile vanished, replaced by a cold, steely glint in his eyes.

"Elysia, please…" Scarlett, her voice, though calm, held a tremor that betrayed her concern.

They watched Elysia storm out, the slam of the front door echoing her anger. A flicker of concern crossed Scarlett's face, she bit lips.

"Don't mind her, Ash," Scarlett said, her voice soothing, but Asher saw the flicker of concern in her eyes.

Elysia's outburst was a welcome distraction. He watched her leave, a cold smile playing on his lips. 'Let her stew,' he thought.

'But why so much hate?' He hadn't even done anything… yet.

Was it because of his predecessor's actions? Or maybe it was simply who he was – a future villain in this world. Whatever.

'I need to filter out the important memories.' Asher didn't get enough time to short out all the memories of the 'Previous Asher'.

In the game, he'd tried to claim her character in the game, but had abandoned the pursuit halfway, bored by her "tsundere" act.

Asher couldn't forget her character from the game - In that world, she was just another trophy that needed to be conquered.

She was a self-righteous heroine who stood in his way.

She was arrogant, self-righteous, and had a tedious quest requiring excessive flattery and right way of bootlicking skills.

Elysia was also known for having the longest quest in the game, and infamous heroine for her infuriatingly haughty personality, that had been the bane of many players.

He had exploited her before, despite being annoying she was generous, but her constant trouble-making and refusal to listen to anyone made her a difficult companion.

Due to the constant trouble she caused, and won't listen to anyone, and listening to any players was just a dream.

In the end, he had broken her – killed her in the game, completing the quest in a fraction of the time.

But here, she was alive, breathing, brimming with the same annoying traits.

A twisted grin stretched across his face. He wouldn't simply break her this time. He'd bend her, twist her, mould her into something far more…interesting.

"Don't worry about me, Mom, Aur. It's just Elysia being…Elysia." Turning back to the table, he offered Scarlett a gentle smile, his voice calm and soothing, that calmed the anxious fluttering in their hearts.

"Alright, dear," Scarlett replied, her voice filled with maternal worries, but worries within her didn't disappear. Her motherly intuition detected something, but couldn't pinpoint it.

He turned to Aurora, his voice softening further. "Let's not let her spoil the day, alright, Aur? You deserve a perfect birthday."

"Yeah, today is your day, your moment to shine. We'll be leaving for the Temple of the Gods soon." She wiped her lips delicately with a silk napkin, Her eyes, filled with love and a hint of anxious excitement, swept over them both.

"I wonder," Aurora mused, her gaze flitting to her brother, "Which Anima will Brother awaken?"
