CH.17- Raid

Outside Adrian military base the thousand collective members were laying in wait ready for the signal. Charles, Chloe and John were up on a hill over looking the entire base. With them was Code Blue.

"Incoming ship. Looks to be our target." John looked through binoculars as he saw the ship incoming.

"Wait till it lands and see if you can give a positive ID on our target." Code Blue order as he prepared the device next to him. The ship took a minute to land. Once grounded the doors opened with ten soldiers coming out. They stood in a line with five flanking each side of the door. A women could be seen coming out. She was a human wearing a military uniform with two stars on her shoulder pads.

"We have her sir." John called out as soon as he saw her shoulders. As soon as the call came Charles began his hack of the facility. It took him two minutes to connect to the back door he had left.

"I'm ready sir give the order." Charles looked over at Code Blue. He held in his hands two circular disks. As soon as he threw them, they flew to the thruster of the ship.

When the disks were over hundred meters away Code Blue yelled, "Do it!" Charles typed in one final command and the base went black. The soldiers in the base took a couple of second to react as some began shouting orders. As they were moving, two massive explosions rung out above the General's ship. One was a normal explosion with the other releasing blue lightening shutting down the ships electrical systems. The thousand Collective members wasted no time rushing toward the base. Ten separate squads charged at the base from ten different location. The majority of the Collectives military force in Null's capital was attacking the base and failure would cripple them. Gun fire broke out at all sectors as the Imperium's soldiers defended the base with their lives.

"Well, we should get going." Code Blue Stood up and stretched his back as he began to run down the hill followed by the other three. All ten squads broke through the first line of defense as they overwhelmed the base's outer defenses. The gun fight lasted for only a couple of minutes with the Collective suffering minimal casualties.

Code Blue, Charles, John and Chloe quickly caught up to one of the squads as they joined the assault. They were apart of the group that was approaching the landing pad. Around them the lights turn back on. Code Blue looked at Charles.

"As you know all bases have manual generators, they turned it on. I cant do anything about it unless I'm next to it." Charles face looked annoyed as he surveyed the surroundings. The black amour the Collective soldiers wore no longer were useful. The group walked forward with the four in the middle of the 90 odd soldiers left alive. They got close and closer to the landing pad where the strongest defense would be.

"Listen up everybody." Code Blue called out. "We are attacking the location the Major General should be. Prepare to face heavy resistance. We should be the first group to attack with reinforcements joining us later on. I'll warn you all now do not look down on the General and the troops with her they can all take on ten people on their own with the General herself being extremely strong. I'll hold her off until she can be killed."

The 96 Collective members came to the area around the landing pad and immediately opened fire getting into cover. The Imperium soldiers reacted quickly only suffering one death on their side. The Collective vastly out numbered the Imperium here with only around thirty Imperium soldiers, how ever in terms of both weaponry and armour and training they were better.

"Do not let up. We need to push forward." Code Blues voice yelled across the battlefield as shoots rang back and forth. The Collective was making small ground as they pushed. The cost was not low. Each Imperium soldier killed cost the Collective at least five. This was a battle of attrition and their group just had to hope for reinforcements to arrive without giving a chance for the Imperium to flee.
