6 You Have Alerted The Horde

Mark, surprisingly enough, was feeling pretty good.

Not fully good, but good enough to feel good. Dont question it.

Making sure not to trip on a pipe, Mark hummed softly to himself, his eyes wandering to the MP3 player he still had in his pocket.

Thinking everything was under control, he reached for them, putting each ear bub into his ears, before pressing play.

Nothing happened for a few minutes. Then, something did happen.

A sole of a guitar began to play, its tone somewhat ominous in the seemingly empty hallway.

Then, thing's happened.

Mark felt vibrations. Deep steps taken, many steps taken. Even if he couldn't quite hear, he could still understand one thing.

Something was coming.

Frantically looking down each hallway, Mark finally saw what was making those vibrations.

Densely packed to one another, a horde of Entity's was rushing towards him. From smilers and their grotesque skinny bodies to hounds and their dog-like appearances, to even new creatures he had not seen before, but certainly knew the names of.

Clumps, or Entity 5, were just that. Clumps. However, they were a bit more than that, as they are clumps of amalgamated humans absorbed into a forever suffering creature of horror. Flying shortly above these creatures were Death Moths, or Entity 4. Mostly male, going by their tiny body sizes, they look just like moths but up-scaled to the size of a chihuahua. They were also supposed to be friendly creatures, but Mark didn't want to test that out currently.

Finally, being pushed by this horde of creatures, was a single Skin Stealer, or Entity 10. They mostly just looked like a sentient pile of oatmeal shaped in a vaguely humanoid body, but currently it was just being pushed so much that it's oatmeal body was liquifying from the pressure.

Not even fully understanding what was going on, his feet pushed him to run, which he did.

As the horde of densely packed Entity's ran after him, the music continued to play in a language he thought was Russian, however this served nothing more then to cause Mark to become even faster.

Still dressed in his office work attire, he ripped off his jacket, flinging it to the horde, hoping for it do something.

It did nothing.

Taking a path to the right, Mark continued to huff his ass off, making sure to take a few glances behind him to see if he lost the horde.

He did not lose the horde. If anything, they were gaining on him. Cursing out loud, he took his clawed hand a tried to rip some piping next to him, which worked.

A large amount of hot steam bellowed out of the ripped pipe, burning Marks hand in the process. Trying to hold in the tears of pain, Mark continued to run even as his hand hanged to his side.

He could hear the screams of the entity's, even as the MP3 player continued to blast music into his ears. Still, he ran as fast as he could, hoping and praying that the steam would hold them off.

Seemingly, it did. Making his way to a new section of a long hallway, he slumped to the side of the wall clutching his hand and softly whimpering.

Gritting his teeth, he pushed himself off the wall, just in time to see a new horde of creatures down the hallway.

Cursing, he turned his head, only to see another horde of creatures. Eyes widen and mouth gaping, Mark finally snapped.

Running towards one of the hordes, claws stretching out towards the entity's, a voice spoke out once more.

Grinning like a maniac, Marks claws dug into the first entity he could, which was a clump. Said clump screamed, before an arm launched itself from underneath it, and tried to grab him. It did, but mark didn't care.

Ripping and tearing into the creature, it's screams of pain only caused it to suffer more, as Mark continued his frantic clawing.

Of course, he was not left alone to do as he pleased. Currently, he was getting bashed by Smilers, clawed by hounds, and spit on by death moths.

He cared for none of that. After he finished tearing the clump to shreds, he launched himself at a smiler, digging his claws deep into his face.

After managing to kill three more entity's, the second horde managed to get here, causing for more damage to accumulate onto Mark, which he cared little of.

Adrenaline fully going on, music blasting into his ears of blood shed and something else, Mark was a whirlwind of death that teared and teared whatever he could get his claws on.

In the end, Mark perished. Resetting himself to level 0, where he laid on the floor even after he woke up.

"There's…. nothing?"

The opened door did nothing. Opening it only lead to seeing the cave walls behind it. The paladin even sticking his head through it, leading to yet again nothing happening.

Stepping back and contemplating this discovery, a solider asked, "Um, sir? Is… is there anything wrong?"

Taking a step back and looking at the door once more, the paladin hmmm'd to himself, before speaking.

"Set up a squad of 6 to guard this door. I'm not exactly sure as to what it is, but… I'll need to get a cleric here, or a mage. Either way, 6 of you must guard this door until I can get someone to verify this door."

Leaving the now dwindling crowd, the paladin couldn't shake his mind off the door, and decided upon something.

Taking out a small grey ball, he placed it upon his palm, a closed his eyes. Wisps of blue light ran from his body, and entered the ball, which caused it to glow blue.

"What have you to report, Paladin Jacob?"

"Nothing of major interest. The same dark tomes of knowledge that people should not wield, and cursed objects… but… there is one thing."

"And what is it?"

"A door. Nothing else. No Mana signatures, no rune carvings, nothing. Opening the door lead to no discovery's, yet… I cannot shake this feeling… there is something wrong with it."

A silence dawned upon the paladin and the small ball. Jacob, feeling as though something was wrong, was interrupted by the ball.

"We will send someone to check it. Thank you for the report."

"We serve the light, High priest."

"We serve the light, Paladin Jacob."

The ball then dimmed, becoming its usual grey color. Paladin Jacob stored the ball once more, and went to explore the rest of the dark lair.

"You died to a horde, huh?" BoB said, his spider fingers cleaning some glassware.

Marks eyes were glazed over, a shot of something in front of him. His eyes wandered up to BoB, weakly giving a nod, before slumping his head back down onto the counter.

BoBs many eyes stared intently at Mark, only turning back to take another glass and cleaning it.

"Ya know, ya can tell me what's a going on. I am practically the only shoulder ya can cry on, even if I don't have shoulders."

Mark didn't say anything to that, keeping his gaze upon the brownish color of his drink. Suddenly straightening up, he slammed the drink down his throat, before slamming the glass back down onto the table, accidentally shattering it in the process.

"Every fucking thing. This place is a living hell hole filled will nothing more then the rotten smell of death a decay. For some fucked reason, I, and seemingly only I, am immortal, and I have no idea why. Sure, the skills are all cool and shit, but what in the holy fuck? The Backrooms? Couldn't have been something else? Something less dark and decrypt as this shit hole? Why, oh fucking why, do I get this position in fucking life?"

BoB said nothing, even going so far as to put the glass he was cleaning down.

"Not only that, but I can feel… something. Something is changing me, making me violent, irrational, down right fucking insane! I broke a pip filled with steam to block a group of charging monsters with seemingly no fucking hesitation. Regular old me would have fucking froze at the prospect of having to do that! Then, when two fucking hordes of Entity's were charging me at both sides, I ran to one side and just started slaughtering. I smiled, fucking smiled, during all that. I grinned and maybe even laughed whilst I took the life's of those things. I know they were out to get me, I know that killing them shouldn't make me like this, but I just fucking cant!"

Mark hadn't realized he was screaming at the end, and he did not care. Covering his face with both hands, he softly cried to himself in front of bob, whispering 'I cant fucking do this'

BoB looked at this, and huffed. He walked back a bit, before grabbing a EV and talking through it. The language he used was entirely alien to Mark, who still cared light of what was going on around him.

Nodding to himself, BoB put the EV down, and looked at Mark.

"I have news for you. Good news."

"What is it? Can I kill myself now?"

"No, but it's something of almost equal value."

Puzzled out of his sadness Mark looked to the giant spider, his eyes red and still watery.

"If you can kill a BOSS level entity, you will be given access of the outside of this place."

Marks eyes widen, and he wanted to start speaking, but was cut off by BoB once more.

"It will not be your world. Unfortunately, we can not bring you back to your old world, but we can bring you to a new one."

BoB shuffled a bit, his many legs searching for something, before he pulled out a large scroll from underneath his counter.

It was dusty and old, and Mark could see that it was seemingly cracking under its ancient weight.

"This… this is the information on the new world."

Mark tried to reach for it, but was blocked by BoB.

"You must however, kill your first BOSS entity before you can gain access to this. Once you do, a door can be found in floor 0, go through it and you are transported to this new world, understand?"

Mark rapidly nodded, his eyes moving from BoB to the scroll, before he launched at the spider and hugged him.

"Thank you so damn much, BoB"

The spider was paralyzed for a second, before he quickly pushed mark off himself, and straightening his hairs.

"Never do that again."

"O…ok"

Nodding BoB shoo'ed Mark off, before closing the smell gratings and leaving Mark to himself.

Who started doing a happy dance, now that he learned that freedom might be just around the corner.
