6 The Players Revelation

The aggressive attitude I just showed made the other players hold their breath. The surrounding NPCs also looking at me curiously.

"If you don't answer then I will imprison you for a very long time. You won't be able to be free and enjoy this game until you tell the truth."

Maybe I'm not very good at intimidating people so instead of the player in front of me answering my question, it's the other players who start whispering to each other.

"Hey, isn't he going too far to attack other players? Why did he attack that person?"

"Is it possible that he is showing us his status and dominance because we are quite far behind him in this game?"

"It's best not to be careless. If you keep saying bad things about him, with his current status he can imprison you too. I read on the forums that some players had been in prison and they couldn't log out while they were in the cell."

"Wait, isn't that dangerous for his health in the real world? If he can't get out of the game because he's imprisoned, what condition will his body be in the real world?"

Aldoun, who felt the same way as the other players, moved closer to me and asked why I was attacking innocent civilians.

"I don't feel any danger from this thing. What is a camera anyway?" He asked while giving me back the fragments.

"A camera is a tool used to photograph or record an event and can be viewed many times as long as the data is still stored in it." I said without covering up a single lie.

Showing a serious face, I continuing my explanation and this time I added a little spice of lies.

"This object is a very useful object without even using magic, but if this thing is in the wrong hands, this object can bring disaster to a kingdom. Like what happened to my kingdom which made me run away until I came to this city."

Seeing my serious expression, Aldoun felt that the little thing I had just shown him couldn't be taken lightly.

"My kingdom used to be a magic country just like the Arcanium Kingdom. Because we rely too much on magic and think that magic is the strongest, my country is not very strict in monitoring technology from other kingdoms."

"There were several people who brought this object called a camera into our kingdom and started photographing and recording all the places and activities of our people. It turns out they used the camera to find out all the information about my kingdom and studied it in detail until finally our kingdom was defeated and destroyed."

Honestly, the reason I did this because I wasn't happy with the game company. They didn't provide the same features to us the players and instead only gave the cameras to their workers mixed with the real players. This is the same as cheating to get all the benefits from the game's publicity. They say they won't interfere in the game but in fact that's not the case, such hypocrite.

Part of me also doesn't like the existence of this feature which can damage various things in the game, such as privacy and pornography.

"Look, this person has been silent all this time and doesn't want to say anything. It's better if we put him in prison while the other magic knights check other people who is not the native to make sure there are no intruders among us for the safety of this city and the kingdom of Arcanium."

Turning my body to look at the players, I asked them in a loud voice, "If you are a people who together escaped from the cruel invaders who destroyed our homeland, I'm sure you wouldn't mind if the magic knights will check all of you to make sure there were no cameras hidden in your clothes. We must support this city because this city will become our new home!"

Several players looked confused by the nonsense I just said like a political figure in an election.

At least before the inspection took place there was one player who realized the meaning of my actions and start spreading it to the players around him.

"Hey, now I understand!"

"What do you understand from his bullshit speech?"

"He's helping us all here."

"Please, I can't follow your words.  Explain more clearly in language that is easy to understand."

"Listen, he was the only player in this city who managed to become a magic knight in just one day. He is far beyond any of us and the question is how does he do that?"

A small discussion was heard among the players and they spoke as quietly as possible so as not to be heard by the magic knights who were starting to arrive to check is there any cameras on their clothes.

"To get a quest, we don't need to bother looking for it or begging like before. We just need to create it with a little exaggerated acting and lies. Look at him who is looking at us. He is giving us a code to work together and if this is successful our closeness to the NPCs will get better and the possibility of quests coming to our way will also increase. Basically, we just need to follow the drama he currently creating."

Honestly, I don't know what they were talking about while nodding but it seemed they had reached a mutual agreement. I hope they don't do stupid things that will harm themselves because what I'm doing is just a form of screening to find out who are the real players like me and who are the players who works for the game company that created Gaia Project.

"Gaia Project. I won't let them monopolize the information about this game world with the cameras they have. I have to earn money to be able to meet my living needs and buy the new game capsule so I don't need to pay the rent bill for the next months."

After ensuring that everything has been checked and the player who has the camera is imprisoned indefinitely. Aldoun asked me to follow him to the mayor's residence because a lot of time had been wasted due to the drama I created.

A very useful title but has huge risks. At the same time I also got a notification from the system.

I can understand why the system limits the player title up to 3. It is for the sake of game balance.

Looking back at the title I have, I decided to increase the effect of the title 'First Player to Gain Magic' by the effect of 'High Rank Title Hunter' which now increases the effect so my intelligence stats increases by 2000, increases my magic control by 100% and reduces my mana usage by 50%.

My other titles such as 'First Wizard Among Players' also have a very good effect, namely increasing mana by 1000 and increasing the power of elemental magic that has affinity with me by 100%. But I felt this title is not as versatile as the other title so I don't use the effect of 'High Rank Title Hunter' to this title.

Now I feel stronger and with high confidence enter the mayor's residence.
