39 Chapter 38 - Performance Assessment. [+]

Tom assessed the fight with the Lizard as he and Spiderman walked through the sewer system after rescuing the knocked out lizardmen who had turned back to humans.

Peter was awfully quiet as he didn't want to share any information, Tom did try to get it out of him but Peter only gave vague hints, he probably didn't want one of his mentors to be hurt by Tom as he still believed in the news that Fisk had spread.

It took them a while before they found the lab, while Peter looked around, Tom noticed a lone cartridge full of green liquid, he quietly placed it in his storage and acted normally, as normal as someone fighting a villain in the sewers would act.

Peter was also not idle as he looked at the computer, there seemed to be a recording on it, after a few seconds of hesitation as he didn't want Tom to find out what he already had a hunch of, Peter finally pressed play.

The rest became history as the face of a crazy Dr.Connors was shown as he injected himself with a few shots of the serum,

Peter gasped in horror as his worst nightmare became true, "What have I done?" Spiderman sat on the chair as he muttered.

Tom also didn't let go of this chance as he pressed on, to get to earn huge amounts of GP, he had to stay close to Peter and see things to the end.

"What do you mean….don't tell me," Tom spoke, acting surprised as he gave Spiderman a look that said it all.

Spiderman in question couldn't help but feel guilty as he revised his choices in the past, even though Professor Tom had cautioned him not to get involved with Connors, he did it anyway.

"Did you help him in making it," Tom asked, acting more curious rather than coming out as someone who would accuse Peter.

Peter also stood up as he faced Tom, he didn't have any way to lie through this.

"Sigh, yes, I knew Connors from somewhere, he said he needed my help, and I did, I never thought he would do something like this.

Peter waited for the accusations, though he was surprised by the next words,

"So it wasn't your fault," Tom continued, "I mean, you just helped a friend in need, it's not your fault he turned into a maniac,"

Tom finished as he shrugged, Peter couldn't help but think of Tom in a good light, maybe the news wasn't all that trustworthy either way, they had painted him in a bad light many times as well.

"Lets get out of here, do you know where we could find this guy?" Tom asked.

As although having lizard around would be good for his GP, he didn't want to see the guy make a whole army.

"I am not sure, maybe he is still hiding in the sewers or something," Peter replied, unsure as he didn't know Connors much.

"Hmm, I guess you are right, I will take a look at his house, here, this is my number, call me when you spot him," Tom said as he handed over a piece of paper with his second number on it.

"Thanks I guess," Peter replied.

Tom nodded as they both went their separate ways once the fight was over, Tom also put on his shoes and flew away,

He had made a huge earning today, it seemed like he had done a total of three missions together,

Plus he was not fighting common thugs but a giant lizard man with the ability to recover and regenerate so Tom had given it his all.

"I earned over 3000 GP just from this confrontation, I helped Peter, dealt with a villain, and in a sense, I did rescue him from fatal attacks, I guess this is worth it," Tom smiled as he entered his apartment through the opened window.

His total points were 14,000 GP

Tom felt much better after seeing the total amount, he had to stop his itching hands from pulling gachas.

Although Eijiro Kirishima was a good thing, its development speed was very slow, Tom wondered how strong and fast a card from epic or legendary pull be.
