Ever since that fund-raising party that Mariano brought me for the first time, I've been itching to get back at Emery for calling me a bitch. And that other time she was rude to me during the wine-tasting event. It's time I put her in her place, and make sure she knows she can't mess with me.

Mariano even backed me up—sort of. A couple of weeks ago, while I was preparing for the guest list for tonight's opening, he caught me staring into space with a devilish smirk on my face and he said, "What's with that look? What are you thinking? Are you scheming something?"

I feigned innocence, which obviously didn't work. And then I said, "Why? Are you going to stop me?"

"No. Just wanted to know. Do whatever you want. We'll deal with the aftermath when we come to it."
