I pull her close against me, her body stiffening for a split second before melting in my arms. She is so soft and warm, I can't believe I went through days without this. How did I survive? Barely.

We're panting once we break the kiss and she clings onto me as though she doesn't want to let go. The feeling and thought of that make me tighten my arms around her. "I missed you," I whisper into her hair.

Instead of answering, she takes my hand and starts pulling me to the stairs. "Let's patch you up."

Without another word, we climb up the stairs and go into my bedroom where she gestures for me to sit on the bed while she grabs the first-aid kit in the bathroom. I strip off my shirt, wincing a little as the fabric peels off from the wound. It doesn't look that bad. It's not bleeding as much as but I don't need stitches. I toss the ruined shirt into the trash and go to the bathroom so I don't mess up the sheets.
