Jax is at the construction site too, wearing a protective hat on his head and holding a rolled-up blueprint in his hand. It's the first time I saw him working and not…pranking Mariano for fun or eating weed cookies with me and Val or just being overall annoying. He looks so serious while he works, and only throws a playful smirk my way once. It's kinda weird and I'm not used to this side of him.

Mariano introduces me to some people at the site, but we only stay for an hour before leaving again. He tells me it's dangerous at the site, and I don't argue with him. I'm just happy he lets me see this too even though I didn't ask him. We drive back to the city and get stuck in the rush hour for a while. But just like he said earlier, he brings me to a few bars in the city.
