Gabriela.

Gabriela is a remarkably powerful angel who grew up under the guidance of her mentors, each of whom carefully helped shape her into a powerful weapon against demons. Everything seemed to be going well, and Gabriela was soon to be released into the world when one of her mentors realized that as skilled as she was, she had no compassion. In an effort to instill empathy in her before its too late, Gabriela has been sent to earth to live amongst humans, with her abilities sealed. But will she actually learn what it means to care, or will her ingrained fixation on battle lead her astray?

Chapter Six

Rennyn expected that the angel wouldn't give up her assault just because her weapon was taken from her, but he wasn't quite sure how good she would be. It turned out, she was comfortable this way, maybe somewhere in between the umbrella (since it was most certainly an unfamiliar object that she'd chosen on the fly) and what Rennyn assumed was her specialty, the sword. She was no longer bogged down by the resistance the umbrella provided, and simply began to throw herself at him with even more practiced ease.

Rennyn followed her moves again, even going so far as to parry her hits by lightly smacking away her wrist or catching a fist quickly before letting go and dodging a second. He knew neither of them could keep this up forever, but he was having a hard time thinking of what to do. His powers were being suppressed, he was being watched by a large crowd of people, and he was clearly not quite as physically strong as his opponent.

Her only weaknesses thus far had been her narrow vision and impulsive decision making; did she have anything else?

"Don't you have better things to do than hit on me?" he teased as he thought, hoping to get her riled up again. "Even though all your hits are misses!" he laughed.

After she launched another strike at him, he ducked under her and sent a kick at her stomach. He knew she'd dodge it with ease, but that was his goal. He used this small window to back-handspring away from her and give him some distance. He had only one small knife on him, but decided to test her by throwing it her way, hoping it would catch her off guard.

Again, he knew even if it did it wouldn't help much, but it was information that counted most in the long fight! He just had to get there.
