'Another year from now and the Uchiha clan will be a thing of the past should I do something to change their fate? In truth, I can relate to their feeling of isolation but what's with the Uchiha clan's obsession to hold the leading position in Konoha? Is it some kind of inherited trait or frustration?'

"Hmm... There's so much to consider. I am currently not capable of doing anything major."

Gaara looked up at the round moon as he massaged his temples. To be honest, recruiting some of the Uchiha would prove to be a boon for the hidden sand but that would not only be difficult but dangerous as well.

Would Konoha shinobi allow the migration of a powerful clan to go smoothly without doing anything about it? Is suna even prepared to accommodate them? How should he even proceed with the convincing?

'Huh?'

His thoughts was interrupted, he peered down from the inside a flying machine with four propellers attached to a body. Yes, a huge ass drone looking puppet/machine. As an earthling or what used to be one, it was his dream to ride one of these things that he could only see in YouTube. It can be considered as a dream come true after death. Weirdly put, but it is what it is. He called it Tutubi for no particular reason.

He is technically still in the wind country but the sandy desert terrain changed to steep rocky mountains with sparse trees and bushes that looked like they could use some watering.

'This is it!'

He controlled his craft to go closer to the ground before opening the hatch and sending shadow clones to survey the area for him. He is currently on a mission to look for the ruins of the ancient gelel mine and the ancient city of Roran. Considering the terrain portrayed in the anime he is closer to the ruins of the gelel mine than Roran. He actually preferred the latter than the former due to some complications but beggars can't be choosers. A little tour of the place wouldn't hurt his plans anyway.

As they landed, the clones opened a scroll which released a flock of birds into the skies. Mechanical birds flew out in all direction ready to sweep the mountains. From his memories, the ruins is not really hidden but is located in an area without vegetation nestled in some kind of canyon filled with fog. That should narrow down his search a little bit.

Gaara slowly moved Tutubi to follow his clones, he is eager to find the exact location of the ruins but is in no hurry as he rummaged through his memories about the things he knew from the anime. Time passed and his clones have been searching without rest for a whole day.

'There it is! Finally. My ass is getting sore from all this sitting. Let's go!'

Gaara kept his portable game console and immediately came down to the place where his clone disappeared to relay the message. He once again reminded himself to hasten the delivery of the wireless radios he ordered and purchase more of the latest tech so that Sunagakure can study to reverse engineer them. Of course recruiting and sponsoring scientists also works. Gaara smiled as he peered downwards.

An ancient megalithic structure can be seen, similar to the Incan, Sumerian, Indian, Egyptian structures. It is a structure seemingly molded from a single piece of stone, time however have done its works and the place appeared more dilapidated than how it was portrayed in the show but of course anime is anime and reality is reality so nothing weird or wrong in there.

He once again summoned clones to explore the entire ruin, no need to go inside himself when others... or well, his clones can do it for him. He summoned a tent and camping equipment from a scroll and began to boil water for instant ramen. It is a real wonder how closely related the culture in this world is to the real world when it comes to food. Maybe the Japanese as a whole is a multiverse level specie spreading their knowledge to different primitive dimensions throughout the multiverse? Possibly.

Gaara ate the instant ramen with relish as he reminisced about his past life. His love for noodles is still the same. He lied down for about an hour before stretching his bones and working out. He finished after about an hour of high intensity workout, he washed and went inside the tent after setting up measures for detecting and protection. Sleep is still a requirement even for him but he could go without it for up to a whole week if necessary. Imagine the original Gaara who almost never slept. No wonder he became crazed like a freaking demon when he was young.

What's great is that he only needed about two to four hours of sleep to be fully charged so all those talks about the rich and the poor motivation crap in his past life can suck it. Of course they are right, some people can maximize time but Gaara believed that if you are truly smart then you should buy time instead. Hire someone to do things for you like a real boss.

Gaara drifted to dreamland as soon as he closed his eyes, a technique he developed with inspiration to the original.

*Squeeee

Gaara woke up and disappeared in a flash. Outside the tent, a furry thing can be seen nailed by an arrow to the rock wall. It was not a direct hit and only the hide of the creature was hit pinning it to the wall. It can be said that the thing instantly became holy. Get it? Nevermind.

Looking closely, it looked like a mongoose, but no. It had brown fur and red eyes that are very familiar.

'Nerugui?'

Gaara quickly arrived in front of the ferret with scrutinizing gaze. He took the creature and removed the arrow lodged in its skin. The holes quickly healed afterwards much to his surprise. It was at least several times faster than his own recovery. The stones of gelel is truly miraculous. He became excited thinking about its applications.

"Does this mean that Kahiko is also around here somewhere?"

Gaara connected his vision to the mechanical bird he called CCTV (what?) and a translucent panel showing the ground terrain can be seen in thermal overview. A red dot is indeed moving away slowly from the area where he put his camp.

The old man did not stand a chance and was captured without fruitful resistance. He was thus put to sleep for convenient handling, and then he was tied up to prevent him from doing anything that would possibly get half of the continent to disintegrate.

Gaara recalled his clones who are exploring the mines and gained some understanding of the ruins.

'Might as well check it out since I'm awake now anyways.'

He quickly packed his things up and entered the ruins. After about thirty minutes of walking deeper and deeper into the ruins he finally reached the place where Naruto-Temujin duo fought the dumb villain stereotype known as Haido and friends.

The whole place is fully scoured by his clones but there was no reaction from the control key. Now however that Gaara is holding onto two other variables he decided to give it a try and walked towards the place where the key popped out from in the anime.

A smile crept up to his face as he sensed a reaction coming from Narugui, some sort of signal was transmitted and the control key slowly phased out of the floor until the key fully emerged and hovered two to three inches above the stone floor. Gaara came closer and held out the ferret towards the key waiting for further reactions. There was nothing. He touched the control key and nothing. Thinking for a while, he infused chakra into the key and it began to glow with cyan light. A mechanism activated and the stone cover retracted revealing what can only be described as something similar to a lava-lamp. It is glowing like an aurora borealis with higher and more tangible and radiant properties. Close enough.
