I'm Sorry

It has been two hours since Mei was falsely dragged into her room, leaving her unable to go out.

But she had to go out, she had to meet the Male lead and win his heart no matter what.

Sighing, she stood up from the soft bed and sneakily opened the wooden door.

Although it made a slight crick sound, the sleeping maids didn't seem to hear it and with that, she smiled and fled from the room.

Now out of her room, Mei Immediately caught sight of a group of guards that walked together in unison and with that, a smile formed on her cherry, small lips.

She quickly ran towards them as they seemed quite taken by surprise to her, the third arrogant Missy, especially with a more energetic expression.

"My Little Lady, is there anything we can help you with?" The head guard asked as Mei nodded.

"Yes, I need you to kidnap someone for me!"

Still kneeling under the snow was Jin Ling as he felt his leg turn numb and his hand shiver from the cold.

He has tolerated everything Ming Mei had done to him since he arrived at the mansion, but he won't take it anymore if she makes him Miss his sister's memorial.

Just then, He heard a group of footsteps from behind and he became quickly alert.

With a swift move, he took hold of a sharp stick that was just beside him ready to attack whosoever had bad intensions, but before he could do a thing, he was hit on his neck and so fell into a deep and immediate sleep.

That was the last thing he remembered before waking up.

Jin Ling looked at his surroundings. He was no longer kneeling at Mei's old residence, but was now inside an unfamiliar looking room.

It was definitely not his since his room could never be this luxurious, and we'll designed and structured.

But he immediately adverted his attention from the room to his sister's memorial and how he got here.

Standing up, Jin ling walked out of the room but to his surprise, it was all dark.

No single lantern were turned on, and so the entire hall was dark and gloomy.

"What is going on?" he asked himself, confused as he slowly walked through the dark halls, hopefully to find his way out.

And yet again he met with another surprise.

In the midst of darkness, only a sight of light could be considered the far head of the massive residence.

Although he was unable to make out what was there, as he got closer his eyes widened in shock at the sight that befolded upon him.

Candles were around a nice wooden table as a painting was placed upon it.

And that happened to be the painting of his late sister "Jin Long Lu"

But that wasn't the only strange thing he saw, as kneeling before her picture was someone quite familiar and yet so shocking.

It was Ming Mei, his sister-in-law.

With an Angry expression, Jin Ling walked towards her and held her hands tightly, dragging her up, "What do you think you're doing? Don't make fun of my sister, It won't be taken likely."

He warned, anger visible in his eyes and hearing that, before she knew it… Mei found herself crying.

If she had to find a way to melt his heart and make him hate her less, then she would do anything, even when it meant embarrassing herself like this.

But he was wrongfully thinking ill about her, what does he take her for? She had tried to surprise him by making his sister's memorial tombstone for him, and here he was warning her harshly.

But she didn't blame him, after all the villainess who owned this body which she now inhabited was both wicked and vicious so it was understandable if he thought she tried to insult his sister's tomb.

"What are you trying to do?" he asked once more, his intense gaze fixed on her.

Gulping slightly, Mei responded, "Are you blind? I was only lighting an incense for your sister, but you grabbed me unexpectedly and made it fall from my hands."

She said as her eyes moved to the incense on the floor and his eyes followed along with Hers.

Immediately, she saw a slight switch in the expression he had as he asked, "why are you doing this? Is there something you want?"

He asked her as his dark, blank and emotionless eyes stared at hers.

"I-i…" what did he expect her to say? That she was doing all these all so she could survive and not end up dead like the real villainess?

Seeing as she had no words to say, Jin ling then rudely removed his hands from her almost so hard that she staggered slightly and with that, he immediately knelt down to his sister's tomb and lightened an incense for her.

Mei felt bad for him, he had to separate from his family and live in such a household where he isn't even given the full right to mourn his family member.

Sighing, she then walked towards him as I knelt beside him, taking another incense and placing it on the pot of rice.

With their incense both placed in the pot, they stood up and bowed down three times before seating down in silence.

Turns out that Mei's consistent reading of historical novels had got her enlightened on some of their cultures and practices.

Taking a deep breath in, Mei then braced herself for what she was just about to say.

Without a further ado, she said aloud, "I'm sorry!"
