1 - Last Day

Jazmin lays in bed staring at the ceiling, pondering her life, how great it was until this point, while laying there she's freaking out on the inside. The most significant part of being a wolf is near, she gets to finally meet the mate of her life very soon. What is real understanding of mates? So many questions Jazmin has regarding mates. She should probably ask her parent's. Jazmin's parents are true mates.

Jazmin's thoughts become interrupted by a knock at the door, "Jazmin, are you awake?" her mother says as she opens the door. Her mom Erika is the Luna of Silver light Pack. Her mom is the best Luna for anyone to look up to. Not only that, but her mom is 5'7 (ca. 170 cm), has blonde hair, with light blue eyes. Jazmin is the same height as her mom. Jazmin has light-brown hair, with light blue eyes like her mom.

"Come in if you dare!" she giggled. Jazmin sits up to greet my mom.

"Aren't you excited! You turn 18 tomorrow, you finally get to meet your mate!" as she walks towards her with joy radiating from every word.

As her mom sits on the bed, Jazmin is confused about how to feel. Mates are considered the best thing to look forward to when you turn 18. Looking at her, she admits with worry in her voice.

"Yes, mom, but what if he doesn't accept me as his mate?" Thinking, her biggest fear is finding her mate and being rejected by him. Jazmin doesn't want to get her hopes up too soon. She feels like rejection makes you a big failure to your pack.

"Oh honey, he will instantly love you!" her mom says, placing her hand on her shoulder to convince her. Is it that easy to just accept a mate, undoubtedly, that can't be true, right?

"Don't be afraid of the bond, there is nothing that can come between a mate bond." placing a kiss on her forehead.

She continues to reassure Jazmin about having a mate. As Luna, it's her job to help pack members any way she can. Communication is a big part of keeping a pack together.

"Thank you, mom, you are always so understanding." She goes out of the way to help remove the anxiousness Jazmin feels in the pit of her stomach.

Jazmin smiles at her, as her mom brings her into a warm, comforting hug. For a moment, the fear of drowning in despair is gone. As she hears footsteps coming toward them, Jazmin looks over to the doorway to see her dad with her best friend Claire in tow. Claire is a petite 5'6 (ca. 168 cm), natural red hair, emerald green eyes. Claire is the Beta's daughter. They literally grew up together in the same pack house. Jazmin and Claire are the same age.

"Look what the cat dragged in!" He says smiling.

Her dad is the Alpha of the Silver light Pack. His large 6'3 (ca. 191 cm) muscular build makes Claire look like a mouse as he leans against the wall. His short jet black hair with striking ice blue eyes. They stand there, waiting to see if she asks what they're up to. Jazmin stands up as Claire seems to be bouncing with glee. She pounces and wraps her into a bear hug.

"I'm so excited for you, Jazmin! You get to meet your mate!" she rolls her eyes, trying to play off that she is extremely wound up over it. She grabs her hands, giving her a sincere smile. Her face frowns, crap she knows, how did she find out?

"Jazmin, since when do we keep secrets? You don't have to lie to me about how you feel. We've been best friends since we were 5, I can tell when something is off with you." She's right, she can't hide anything from her. Feeling embarrassed, she looked down at her feet, avoiding eye contact for a brief moment.

"I know, I apologize for trying to keep it from you. It's just I'm afraid I'll get rejected." Drifting to the thought that she doesn't want to be seen as a failure to her pack. She doesn't realize the depth of her insecurities. Claire smiles at her.

"I promise all will work out fine Jazmin, I'll be here for you. I have your back, regardless of what happens tomorrow." Speaking of the devil, Jazmin's stomach growls in disapproval.

"Jazmin darling, can you help me set the tables for breakfast?" her mom turns to ask before heading downstairs.

Jazmin looks at Claire, "Can you help me with it?" elbowing her in the arm.

"Of course!" Claire lights up with a smile, joining hands and skipping downstairs. "I'll gladly help Jazmin set the tables, Luna!"

She's the best friend that anyone would appreciate having. They became best friends on the first day of school.

"Thank you, dear, you have been a wonderful friend to my daughter all these years," Those words make her feel warm and fuzzy.

Her mom whipped up all sorts of delicious food, bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, and waffles. A fresh coffee aroma fills the air.

"Mmm, everything smells so amazing." as her mouth salivates.

As they set the tables, her brother, and his friends, walk into the kitchen. He's practically a twin of our dad, with Ice blue eyes, jet black hair, 6'1 (ca. 185 cm), and a breathtaking build of muscle that makes him a tank-like their dad. Claire lights up like fireworks, seeing Derek. Claire gets lots of pep in her step around Derek. Jazmin wonders if Derek knows that Claire has a thing for Derek. It would be surprising if Derek couldn't see that Claire did. That's typical of boy's not to notice things like that.

"Hey, Derek." Claire squeals seeing him enter the kitchen.

Claire always had a major crush on her brother. She never admits it directly, but the way she looks at him gives it away. She has the dreamy look on her face. It's so obvious.

"Hi Claire, what are you doing here?" Surprised to see her. "Aren't you excited that your sister gets to find her mate?" She beams with glee.

Derek looks confused as to why she asked that. "Excuse me, did you say find her mate?" He asked in a wondering tone.

Laughing at the confused look on his face. "Derek, it's your sister's birthday tomorrow." Dad chimes in. His eyes widened, realizing he had forgotten.

"Don't tell me you forgot?" mom questions in a disappointed tone.

Becoming amused with what is unfolding in front of her. Claire looks at Jazmin then at Derek, wondering if they should be ashamed of him for forgetting. Derek rolls his eyes in annoyance. So typical of boys.

"Okay, maybe I did forget that it was your birthday tomorrow." He sighs to admit it. "But I'll be sure to make up for that fact." she looks at him with a puzzled look. What is the plan?

"I know what you're wondering." He stares at her, giving Jazmin the watching-you look.

We all gather at the table once everyone has filled up a plate. 'I'm apologizing for forgetting that tomorrow is an exceptional day for you.' In his mind linked to Jazmin, She nodded, accepting the apology. Okay, I'm sure he is hiding something.

An hour later, everyone finishes up breakfast. There is a big mess left behind to clean up. Usually, the omegas are responsible for cleaning up, not just the preparation for meals. Occasionally, the Luna tells the omegas not to worry about cleaning up after meals. So, that is where Jazmin and Claire help assist in cleaning up after meals.

"You know what we should do today." Claire peeps up with excitement.

"What do you suggest?" She can only wonder where her idea may take them.

"We should go birthday shopping at the mall," Claire states with bubbly energy in her voice.

"Shopping at the Mall, for what exactly?" Okay, what does she have up her sleeve?

"I think going to the mall is a wonderful idea." mom chimes in.

"Wait what. You are going to let me go to the mall for birthday shopping?" question her mom's intentions.

"Yes Jazmin, I'm letting you girls go without adult supervision, considering you will be an adult tomorrow." She states while handing her dad's credit card. Claire beams with glee, hearing the words my mom just said.

"Thank you so much, Luna," Claire says as she hugs her.

"I'll come grab you from your room once I'm done getting ready. I'm going to shower. I will be quick as I can." Jazmin says to Claire.

"Okay, see you soon." Claire says.

Jazmin and Claire's room are both on the 3rd floor of the pack house. Only a few doors down from each other. All the rooms in the pack house are soundproof. They have additional rooms in the packhouse for guests. They have an extra packhouse for any overflow of guests.
