Frozen Sword in a Cultivation World

A mysterious star shot across the sky as piercing laughter stretched across the starry sky. In star that was shot lay a blond boy separated from where he belonged. It was a moment to be remembered and it was recorded in the notes of Remembrance, and as the star left the worlds behind. Note: This is a Record of A Mortal's Journey to Immortality fanfic. The original novel was one of my favorites back in the day. Paired with our boy Yanqing. He needs some Ws Will update whenever I feel like it. First time writing so writing quality is probably not the best. I will also update some of the earlier chapters since the quality isn't as good as later on.

Chapter One: Beginnings

A star shot across the starry sky as a piercing laughter filled the universe. Seeing this, a third entity believed it to be a moment worth noting in the annals of history.

I grasped my arms tightly, with a fluid trickling down the sides of my face. Pain seared across my body as I quickly turned to acknowledge my current predicament. I couldn't see–a potential sign that I might be in a cave or potential brain damage as I do not feel pain or numbness in my eyes.

I could still feel my clothing, but something felt different as my clothes had a different texture. I also felt painful, but it was also exhilarating to feel this–pain. I slowly reached towards my wound, only to find that there was a sticky substance. It did not feel like blood, but at the same time I felt that it was a part of me.

My face began to stretch, in an inhumane manner, as my face extended into a clown-like smile. Exaggerated and wide unlike any other. If I was able to see my own face right now, I'd say that I was a creep or psychopath.

Matters aside, I had to determine where I was and if I was genuinely in danger. The first sign of danger was that it was silent. No noise, no sign of life, and no light. Facing this fact I reached around my floor in order to determine the texture, and it felt like a cold and hard substance. Perhaps it was marble, but I didn't have enough experience to determine it.

I couldn't be in a forest, but I could be in a cave right now. Yet, that did not explain the mysterious injury I currently had.

I felt oddly calm as I had just been thrusted into an entirely unknown situation, with my family and friends potentially in the same as well. Could this be an alien abduction, an apocalypse, or did I travel in time?

It's kinda funny thinking about the potential scenarios, but damn am I afraid right now. The adrenaline and sorrow building up is scary for me, but I know that I need to block these thoughts and become calm.

I recalled my prior situation, before what took me here at least.

Previously, I was chilling inside of my room simply wasting away by attempting meditation. It was calming, but I did not expect that I could learn teleportation by simply pretending to sleep.

Maybe I should have spent that time doing training or even reading novels. It would have been a much better result than if I just meditated.

Perhaps I should open my mouth and yell for help, or I could observe.

Time went by as I started to feel nervous. A feeling that told me that I should move forward, and continue regardless of what was happening. It was incredibly suspicious, but there was nothing else I could do other than to move. It was a gamble I needed to take, but I still had to take it safely.

After around five minutes or so I began to crawl, the tough and rigid substance nearly damaging my poor fingers. There seemed to be no end as I kept crawling. My first thought was to stand up and run, but my instinct warned me not to. Something could catch me if I ran.

My hands became bloodied. Maybe I gripped that damn rock too hard, but this damn urge is becoming annoying…

It's been around an hour… maybe? I'm slowly losing track of where I began. Should I just turn back around right now or should I just keep moving…? Do I just give up?

It's still dark. I can't see anything and my consciousness is beginning to windle. I don't know how long it's been, but I can feel that there is visible damage on my body now. From my hands to my thighs, there are countless scratches accumulated by my crawling. Should I just stand up and run? Is it worth it…?

My consciousness was beginning to blank out, and yet I felt that something was calling out to me. I couldn't move anymore, but I had to. My body didn't have any strength left and there was no food on my body either. The sweat pressed against every corner of my body, and it was freezing. Maybe there was no light to begin with…?

My bloodied hands continued to crawl for an unknown amount of time. I wanted to cry, I wanted to stop moving, and yet I couldn't. As my consciousness began to disappear, there was a ringing sound in my ear. One that felt foreign, but strangely familiar. It spoke in a mocking, but semi-serious tone.

As the voice spoke, he was unable to hear the last reward it spoke.
