SILVERMIST's POV

I spent almost an hour standing in front of the school gate before my brain decided to function again and commanded my legs to take me back in before I freeze to death.

I caress my cheek as I sat down the bench in the student lounge. I could no longer feel the pain. What happened feels real and surreal at the same time.

Maybe I'm just too exhausted and my mind drowned me into something beyond insane.

I heaved a sigh and batted my eyes for a couple of times. I decided to walk myself home instead, so I could think things—the real and important ones.

I traced the route I usually take on foot, eyes pinned on the road, never in mind what's going on around.

I nudged my temples when the scene from what happened a while ago flashed into my mind once again.

I wanted to tell someone about it, but I don't have any friends. I mean, I do, but they won't believe me for sure. They might just think that I'm going insane, knowing that I'm depressed and ain't seeking medical attention.

If ever I tell someone about this, I need a solid evidence as I'm pretty sure it wasn't just a delusion or some sort.

I could clearly remember their names as well as their faces and if my memory still serves me right—Frost, Tim, and Fall are one of those names of those guardians in a story, grandma used to tell me before I go to bed back when I was still a kid.

I sighed, looked up, and watched the dark nimbus forming underneath the blue skies.

About a countless years ago, said to be the Earth's beginning, the Lunar god went down the Earth to see if there's any living creature on it and unfortunately, he found nothing and decided to leave.

He's already riding on his golden chariot, pulled by his two white horses, when he saw a woman sitting on a rock in the middle of the sea, watching the constellations.

She's said to be the Sea as well as the Nature goddess. The Lunar god approached her and they became acquaintances until they fell in love with each other and decided to get married.

The couple were blessed with thirteen children: twelve sons and one daughter.

Everything was fun and games until the Anointment day came and their daughter has suddenly gone missing.

Cloud, which is the eldest, was anointed to be the guardian of the mist, followed by Coast who became the guardian of the golden sands. Blaze became the fire guardian; Rain became the water guardian, followed by East, guardian of the spring.

Frost, guardian of the winter. Flash, the lightning guardian. Cay, the red sand guardian. Fall, commonly known as Autumn, became the guardian of the fall.

Tim, the guardian of the time. Zephyr, the wind guardian. And finally—Sun, the youngest, has been anointed as the summer guardian.

The twelve guardians were said to be the ones who are balancing the earth's condition especially the four seasons which were also shouldered by the four guardians: Sun, East, Fall and FROST!

What I am trying to say here is—yes, I have completely lost my mind.

"Ugh!" I groaned and rolled my eyes skywards.

"That's it! I'm just gonna let everything slide. I didn't see anything. That was nothing but just a piece of shit!" I muttered and nodded at my own decision.

"Hmm... you haven't change at all."

I stopped at one pace when I heard someone talked behind me. I immediately looked back and saw a lady dressed in white. Literally! She's wearing all white, thus, she looks like a freakin' white lady!

"Ah... hi?" I said in hesitation.

I glanced from side to side to check if there's someone else around but it's just the two of us so I looked back at her.

"Are you talking to me?" I asked, pointing myself to make things sure.

"That's a one obvious question you got there, silly," she beamed as she walk towards my direction. "Of course I am. No one's here aside from us."

"Oh, my mistake," I apologized. "H-Have we met before? Do I know you?"

She only grinned and stopped in front of me.

"Probably," she grinned. "Let me check something real quick."

I thought she only wanted to have a pep talk or just ask me something and something else like that but I was caught off guard when she held my hand and rolled my sleeve over, revealing the cinquefoil just above my wrist which I don't have any idea that I had!

"Found you at last."

She whispered. I felt chills ran through my spine that I had to hop a couple of times to distance myself from her.

"W-What are you doing?" I stuttered, trying to ask feisty and covered my wrist.

She only stood there, unmoved. A creepy smile crept on her lips and looked at me in the eyes.

"You saw everything, didn't you?"

"W-What? What are you talking about?"

"Hmm..." she tuck her hair behind her ear. "You can't fool me, Silvermist. I know how your mind works."

I narrowed my eyes. "I don't know who you are neither how the heck you know my name, just stay away from me!"

I was about to turn around and walk away when she said something which froze me in one spot.

"Orphan."

My fist clenched. I could feel my teeth grit in anger as I shot her a glare.

"I know everything about you, Sil."

She grinned and I was taken aback when she suddenly appeared in front of me.

I couldn't move a finger out of shock.

Did she just teleport in front of me?!

A playful grin was again plastered on her face when I began taking small steps aback.

"Shocked?" She asked. "Well, you shouldn't be if you couldn't see me, but because you have that,"  she pointed my hand to where that mark is. "You start seeing new and wonderful things!"

"I-I don't understand!"

"Let me help you then," she said and for an instance, everything went black.

I couldn't see anything.

What the heck's going on?!

My eyes squinted when a blinding light struck me from somewhere at far distance. I thought it was just a simple light, however, after a moment, I was amazed to find myself standing in the meadows.

"Where am I?" I asked between deep breaths. I could see nothing but dandelions and lavenders.

"Wonderful, isn't it?"

I gasped and swiftly turned back and there, I saw that lady in white a while ago and she's smiling at me.

"Who the hell are you?! Where did you take me?" I continuously asked and she only chuckled.

"Hmm... I do owe you an apology and a whole lot of explanations," her lips twitched, and walked near me with few bouncing steps.

"I am Periwinkle and here?" She paused and averted her gaze towards those colorful flowers. "Here is where guardians' apprentices live," she looked back at me. "Where your kinds live."

I could feel my eyes twitch.

"I-I'm sorry what?"
