58 Issue #4

Instead of flying toward Genosha like he had told the X-Men, Jack went toward Massachusetts. He was going to the Massachusetts Academy. Or the former Massachusetts Academy.

When Emma withdrew from the Hellfire Club, she decided to reinvest several of her assets. One of those was the academy. Although the school brought in hundreds of millions of dollars and had a history of over 100 years, she shut it down without hesitation. The school was then rebuilt as a large village/small town for mutants and was given the name District X.

When Jack approached the town, he flew over the gates and headed straight for the town hall. Many of the mutants saw Jack flying overhead bug ignored him when they saw his familiar clothing. No one would stop their savior.

Most of the mutants living here were members of an organization called the Morlocks. These were mostly made up of Delta and Epsilon mutants with a few Alphas and Betas scattered amongst them. Thus, their combat power was actually very weak compared to the Brotherhood or X-Men while being very easy to distinguish compared to other mutants.

The Morlocks used to live in the sewers of New York and would have happily continued to do so. But soon after Jack had become an Avenger Squad leader, a group of mutants called the Marauders invaded the sewers and tried to slaughter the Morlocks. Luckily, Jack and Thor were in the area and were able to repel the Marauders.

After this incident, Emma shut down the school and invited them to stay in the former school as a new home. This way, they could stay above ground and enjoy the sun but also have their own private home where they would not need to fear being hunted.

When Jack landed in front of the town hall, two people walked out to greet him. One was a young teen with pink hair while the other was a woman that appeared to be in her 20s and was wearing an eyepatch.

"Jack!"

The pre-teen ran up and gave Jack a big hug.

"Hey, Sarah. Callisto," Jack hugged the girl back before nodding to the other woman

"My, my, my. The famous Jack Frost is here. What do we owe the pleasure?"

"I'm here to recruit one of your people to the Avengers. I was thinking that you or Caliban would make an excellent addition to the group. I would prefer you but am willing to compromise with Caliban."

"What about me?" Sarah asked from the side

The pair turned and looked the girl up and down before bursting out with laughter. Sarah's face began to blush when she saw those laughing at her. She stomped her feet and stormed off.

"She's coming out of her shell. I'm even thinking of starting to train her as the next leader of the Morlocks," Callisto said out of nowhere

"That's good. I was worried about her after she saw those animals kill her parents," Jack nodded. "Does that mean you can't do it?"

"I can. My powers tell me that accepting is the right choice. Healer and Tommy are both here. They can run the place while I help you out."

Callisto had a unique powerset. She had the senses of a feral mutant without the animal characteristics, the body of a supersoldier without the beefiness of Captain America, and intuitive tactical ability that was able to immediately intuit the best way to engage in any tactical problem, be it a particular circumstance or an opponent making her an excellent leader both in battle and politically.

"Good. I need that intuition of yours," Jack nodded once again, "Cause I plan on saving a bunch more mutants. Many that will be like the Morlocks."

Jack spent the night in District X with the Morlocks partying and drinking. He stayed with the group until around noon the next day before flying over to Genosha.

He went after the X-Men and Morlocks first because he knew they were the easier targets to convince. The mutant he wanted to recruit on Genosha would be much more difficult. He had to not only convince the mutant in question but also Magneto into letting them follow him.

When Jack landed in Genosha, Magneto had just called for his Inner Circle to discuss some matters of state. But with his arrival, he let Jack have the floor.

"Oh, great and powerful Magneto. This humble one beseeches thee to allow thy child of scarlet clothing to join my quest with that avenge in hopes to spread to the greatness of mutants and save the children longing to be found," Jack spoke while kneeling on the ground

Many of the Inner Circle members began snickering and laughing at the performance but quickly composed themselves. Jack was the only person that could speak to Magneto like this without getting thrown through a wall.

Magneto rubbed the spot between his eyebrows as he looked at Jack's smiling face

"So you want Wanda to join the Avengers with you? Is that it?"

Jack nodded but kept kneeling

"Wanda. What do you think of this?"

Wanda stood up from her seat while looking nervous yet eager at the same time.

"I...I think this would be an excellent opportunity for me to gain new experiences, Father."

"No need to mince words with him, Wanda," Jack interrupted. He then turned to Magneto, "She was never Brotherhood material. She cares about people too much whether they are mutant or human. But most importantly, her magical talent is being wasted with you."

Magneto agreed with Jack in his heart. As much as he wanted all 3 of his children to follow his dreams, he knew that it was not right for Wanda. Although all of his children were kind, her heart was the softest.

"Then take her with you. But if anything happens to her, I will tear down that tower the Avengers think themselves so safe in."

"Don't worry. She will be one of my people. And I don't let any harm come to those under my command. You can count on me."
